@syclone You've done it now, i have started playing around with with 4 wheel steering tech for the past 2 hours because of you @LvdH Happy to hear that. Due to the transverse engine layout of the NSX the transmission is also transverse. Because of that the transmission is different from the transmission system I am using in my other builds, and a bit more complicated. But out of all my designs it is still the smoothest drivetrain, there is not a single bevel gear used

@syclone yeas its a shame there are no smaller cylinder blocks, the engine is quite big, even for this scale. I didn't even know some 180sx came with HICAS as well But I dont think it would be a good Idea to try to implement it. First of all there are the problems you already mentioned, and second I dont think HICAS is really helpful with drifting I think I could make 4WD what is always active, but that would look weird especially on a drift car.

@zoo I didn't even consider swapping an LS because I want to keep my MOC cars somewhat period-correct. Since the Type X was a Japan exclusive, I dont think there were many LS swaps done to this car in the 90's Since the SR20DET is a great engine with lots of tunig potential I decided to stick with it in the end.

Yesterday i dropped in the Engine I thought the engine bay was quite big, but in the end I even had problems fitting in the inline-4 SR20DET

[MOC] Lamborghini LM002
Gray Gear replied to filsawgood's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Seems like someone found the key to frontpaging technic MOCs again that had been lost for months... Cant say this one doesn't deserve it tho! A bellyshot and maybe a short vid driving would be appreachiated!- 21 replies

Wow, what a massive Vehicle! I really hate fracking, but the machinery used surely is impessive! I also would like to see a video of this in motion. One thing I dislike is the some of the details. Dont get me wrong, I love the overall detailing, it looks great! But some things, like the front stairs for example, look like they'll fall off just by looking at them. Isn't this very impractical to have such delicate detailing on a moving Model?

I would appreachiate if y'all would not push topics off the front page that actually show some work and effort effort by creating new topics that dont show anything and have no purpose. I am the very first person to criticize the color vomit going on in the current LEGO sets. But this isn't getting us anywhere. Who cares how many blue pins were made? Obviously way to fkng many -
I dont think the color issue will be fixed anytime soon. It seems like LEGO just cant get the colors right anymore since they started doing the plastic coloring process themselves, and for some colors it is worse than for others. The inconsistency showed on the new 2021 sets in this shade of green as well (30465 Helicopter). I dont think they have any other choice, they dont have the bricks in the right colors. Even if they were to ship out new bricks they can't match the green because the color is inconsistent even in the same type of brick. It would be fun to see if the chinese clones have better color consitency or if they copied this massive flaw as well

30465 Helicopter
Gray Gear replied to msk6003's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very cute little set Any idea about the pricepoint? @msk6003 your gear count has to be wrong, because there Is a 12T double bevel gear visible at the belly of the helicopter. In addition to that one you need 4 more gears to complete the driveline for the small rotor. There are 5 gears in total. -
If you want a higher top speed could remove the gearbox to reduce friction and skip the weight of the additional servo as well. While the working gearbox is a great achievement, I doubt it really helps with top speed. The only way to get that much power to the ground without wearing out LEGO pieces is to build a car with a solid rear axle, and using 4 Buggy Motors to power the rear wheels directly unsing an aftermarket steel axle. Only this would skip all weak links. I'd like to do this on a MOC myself, but this is $$$$$

[WIP] Ford Sierra RS500

Yeah, that will be a problem as usual And tbh I'd already count out Orange because it would kill the contrast with the orange turn signals
