  1. Good progress, and looking pretty good. As you have already said, adding a gearbox will be a challenge as there is basically no space. But I think this MOC is fine without one as well.
  2. Wow, you can definitelly see you have plenty experience building technic bikes. Not a big fan of all the stickers, but otherwise looking really good. And very impressive gearbox mechanism for a compact vehicle as a bike. +Respect
  3. It really is a great looking Model. I like the no-nonsense dbg colorsceme My question is: Why post this MOC in the Technic section of EB? There are basically no technic bricks used, and there dont seem to be any functions inside that exeed the complexity of a "powered creator model", if you get what I mean. I would not consider this a technic model. Edit: I saw that you posted it in the military section first, and I think that was the correct choice, so why move it here? The build style fits perfectly with the other MOCs posted there. I dont want to be the bad guy gatekeeping, but I wonder if y'all would still call this "technic"...
  4. Look man I know it is really exiting to be in a new forum and all... But please dont create any more new topics unless you show some actual Brick builds or add real value to this community. Read things for a while, and look at how things are going in this forum. This Topic has a single, sentence and a single non-Brick picture. It is not intresting. Have you looked how others are creating their topics? It takes some thought and work to create an intresting and good new thread. I dont even know what to say to this: Everyone here is happy to welcome new Members, but please try not to annoy everyone right away
  5. Same. I am using chome as well.
  6. Yes sadly I am having the same problem. Whitescreen for anything technic related.
  7. This is getting intresting! What is that 8t gear in red color? Did LEGO ever produce 8t gears without friction, or is it just red by chance?
  8. Yup, thats the piece I used. While there is nothing really fixing the angle in place I never thought it was a problem... You dont usually touch the hood vents while playing with the model, so they dont really go anywhere. That might be different for your application tho.
  9. @chlego 1st step: Grab yourself a blueprint of the car you want to build from Google and feed it to Sariel's awesome Model Scaler. This tool helped me a lot with getting all the dimensions and angles right on my car MOCs.
  10. I used tiles for the hood vents on my R32 Skyline GT-R here, this could give you an idea how it would look like using tiles(video shows it best) I left a half stud distance between each section, just so you know. You could also try to use the small 2x3 curved panels that come in some of the 2021 technic sets, like in the McLaren Senna.
  11. @LvdH I am glad you enjoyed my MOC I had to look it up on the internet too while building the NSX, but appearently the shift pattern stays exactly the same, 1st is still right up in rhd cars. Pedal placement is the same as well.
  12. Where should we recommend MOCs for the HoF? I think there needs to be a designated place for that if you dont want people to post recommendations in this thread and anywhere else they feel like.
  13. I usually build cars, so the scale has to be ca. 1:8 so all my cars can look nice together First I look at the car's body and try to prototype any parts that I think will be hard or even impossible. Especially headlights (sometimes taillights too) are really tough to get right. If I fail to get things right in this early stage, I scrap the project alltogether. My opinion: If the "eyes" of the car look off, there is no point in continuing the project. The transmission side of things I have developed a 6 speed manual Gearbox design that proved very versatile, It can even can be adapted for either AWD or now even 4 wheel steering. That means I just adapt a good design for the current build instead of starting from scratch every time. After that I build the front axle and rear axle/transmission unit and join them with the center tunnel. For the bodywork I usually start with the front bumper and work my way towards the back. The chassis reinforcements and the rollcage are done always here&there somewhere along the way, I have no fixed order here.
  14. Exactly. This is the HICAS system at hight speeds on a R32 Skyline: Since this is supposed to be a drift car (and most drifters hate the HICAS system) I just want to keep the slight crab steering mode that can be turned off for drifting and on if you do decide to do some Highspeed driving on the Wangan
  15. Very nice creation. The front wheel arches are done in a way I haven't seen on a car before...Intresting. Only thing I really dislike is that the pop-up headlights are looking up into the sky instead of lighting up the road ahead I know firsthand how hard it is to make working pop-ups, but this just looks weird. PS: There are so very few blue pins peeking out in this model, I would recomment replcing those few with black ones as well. Very clean look!
  16. Built sets that are complete have the best value I think
  17. Thank you all for your help, this was a really intresting discussion to follow. Now let me introduce you to the solution I came up with: 4 wheel steering enabled 4 wheel steering disabled and rear wheels locked The 4 wheel drive can only be engaged or disengaged when the car is steering more or less straight, so there is no chance to mess up the orientation of the rear wheels. Video to see the system in action: Main issue is the lack of space I have. The system is already a little in the way of where I would normally put the linkages for the 6-speed transmission. I will have to get creative I guess A special thanks for @syclone who got this stone rolling in the first place!
  18. That is exactly how I thought you were going to approach this contest Just search for the most complicated concept and lets go! Looking good so far
  19. Well I am very happy that I dont have any suitable wheels or shocks. That means you cant tempt me with this I already have too many projects and ideas on my own
  20. I like it, the little windmill is very cute! And it is moving so smooth... How far can it travel on a single charge? The video made it seem like not a lot, because the clips were quite short. But even if it isn't much, thats just the nature of any walking wind up toy. Well done!
  21. I knew poeple were going to criticize the brickbuilt connection between the LA and the shovel, and I agree. Thats what liftarms are for. The missing front diff was an obvious one as well, but honestly I can live with that. It would be pretty hard to fix without increasing the scale. Yes, down there almost nobody would see if it wasn't that accurate to the real model, and I probably would have done it, but it is obvious where the creator's focus is. But additional to the missing front diff the front and rear wheels are not driven the same speed, and there is no center diff to even things out. The front wheels are spinning 1.2 times as fast as the rear ones. This is bothering me way more, because it is not just stressing the front axle, but the entire drivetrain as well, even when driving straight. The model looks great, but I think the technic side can be improved Dont take these things to heart my dude, people in the technic forum just want to see technic things whats important is that you are happy with your MOC and had fun making it
  22. @amorti using clutch rings is not an option, they have way too much play @Jurss Thanks, I'll have a look at it
  23. I have always wanted to do something with 4 wheel steering, because I think it is really intresting, and it would upgrade the "technic value" of the model as well. The easy part is done: I crammed a rear wheel steering setup into my existing stransmission setup: White Output is for the engine, small gear is for the rear wheel steering. To fit the rear wheel steering setup I had to increase the length of the whole setup by 2 studs. Its okay I guess. Now comes the hard part: I want to be able to switch the rear wheel steering on and off using a lever in the interior. Honestly I have ho idea how I could achive this, and I am quite afraid I am digging myself a hole that's too deep to get out of. I would be very greatful for any bright Ideas, examples of other MOCs that use a system like this or anything else that could help me. Thank you.
  24. Could please you add the "[MOC]" tag in the title as well? Thank you. It looks like a fun model to play around with, and the cotrols seem very accurate as well. I think it is intresting how almost everyting is done with system pieces. But is there anything else supporting the roof exept the 1 stud connection on each side? That looks very fragile. Anyways, thx for sharing your creation!
