LEGO Ideas Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
29 now. Also, I just came across ‘Ratatouille: Reopen the Doors’ - it will reach 10K, I know, but will it be successful? The designer of the one in the last review has completely redone his idea to include the dining room too. Do you think that this will work? -
LEGO Ideas Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I haven’t ever submitted anything on IDEAS, but as far as I know you have a rule of 3000 pieces max. If I’m correct here, I find it ironic that 21323 has more than 600 more... -
"Seasons in Time" - a LEGO perpetual calendar
Vilhelm22 replied to Karalora's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I supported this a while back with just a quick glance. It looks amazing! I think it’s quite likely as an idea because it’s so incredibly unique and stands on its own perfectly - better than most IDEAS sets to date imho. -
Icons Landmark Buildings - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
https://jedijacpenguin.com/everythingweknowaboutLEGO2020.htm I got the info from here. Honestly didn’t notice the question mark until now, but I can’t think of a single time I’ve seen this site be wrong. I’m also a subscriber to Bevin's Bricks on YouTube and he said this as well (though probably from the same site). It’s generally reliable when people start publicising news like this on YouTube. Go to 1:50 in the video - before that he’s discussing 10274/10275 (rumoured Ecto-1 and Elf Clubhouse sets).- 259 replies

Taj Mahal rerelease 10256 is £300 in UK. I think I would probably expect £500 for this. Looking at other currencies, I’d guess US$600, and €550.- 259 replies

Icons Landmark Buildings - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Good to see the topic I started but thought was dead returning! The colosseum sounds amazing, and a would be awesome alongside the others. I can easily see the MF being knocked off the top spot as a possibility - and would be glad of it. In my opinion, licensed themes isn’t what Lego is about, and a licensed set holding top spot is insanely annoying to me. Looking forward to a building reclaiming the throne! Also, does anyone else think Old Trafford was a rubbish choice?- 259 replies

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Agreed. Though isn’t it the same colour? Wasn’t 60197 just yellow with stickers on the sides? -
Awesome! These fit IDEAS criteria perfectly - a unique idea, that looks good alone, never before seen on IDEAS (in the review stage at least). I’m pleased to say I supported them before seeing this post. Hoping for a successful future on IDEAS for this project. I would certainly buy!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Again...? Though now I think about it, it’s the only corner available now (BB was the one before that) so may be bought because of that. I at least want some variation from a straight line, but not a huge amount. The pattern is Corner Straight Straight on repeat (ignore MS) so for those who don’t understand my logic for the comment above, here’s an explanation. CG was 2019, meaning 2021 is a straight. -

One thing we can be pretty sure of is that this isn’t a corner. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I kinda wonder with a topic like this - when is a good time to start speculating the next set? 10270 was officially announced on 6 December 2019, so it’s still 5 months until the actual announcement. I guess time will tell... I’m a diehard train fan so will always want the train station that will never, ever happen, but I’ll take whatever I can get. I want a hotel of some kind, considering that CC was 13 years ago (and will be 14 when the 2021 modular is released) and had no interior. It seems like a good choice to me. Until very recently CG was the only modular that actually said ‘temporarily out of stock’ on shop@home which kinda surprised me as it isn’t the best imho. Bookshop, for example, and Assembly Square fit a lot better with older modular than DD and CG. Both are on backorder, but they weren’t out of stock, which I find surprising. -
[MOC] Bombardier CP1961 (2020 Version) Diesel
Vilhelm22 replied to Sérgio's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Amazing! Though on the porthole windows I agree 100% with @zephyr1934. I’ve seen somewhere stickers to replace the printed porthole windows of the Santa Fe Super Chief, as well as in various other colours - might be worth a shot? Anyway, amazing build!- 9 replies

Wow! I may be wrong but at least in that pic it appears to be closer to dark blue than bright blue. Anyway, awesome job. Will you build it in real bricks and if so, when?

Jang’s most recent video to explain his modifications. Pretty similar to what others have done here. He fixed the derailment problem!

Jang’s review is up for those who are interested. Is this a problem others have had?

Looks kinda like Disney train. That was last year, right? So the two sets would have been in planning at the same time. I don’t expect this to be a set because of the two most recent expert type steam trains being WHT and DT&S. Lone Ranger happened a while back too, as well as the monster fighters train. Honestly I don’t like this type of locomotive anyway - the cow catcher is all wrong to me and just the overall shape. I’m a Brit, so the more British shape locos look more real to me. Hoping for an A4 Pacific...

As a Brit with a house close to the West Somerset Railway, this is very recognisable! Looking forward to seeing more in the future!

Here’s an idea. Abolish the trains subtheme. Instead, have trains as one set in a range, like a police train or a fire train (both exist). If farm was brought back for example, you could have a cattle wagon (60052 type), a hay wagon, etc. The classic cargo and passenger trains, plus stations, would appear in cargo and public transport subthemes with sets like 8404 Public Transport and Airport and Harbour subthemes. As you can probably tell, I quite like trains... Anyway, yea or nay?

For anybody wondering, this guy has made a PF mod that conceals the receiver without many extra pieces, and shows exactly how in this video.

So, what are Leaf, IP-2 and Zebra?
Vilhelm22 replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Huh. Wouldn’t have guessed that. Link to new LEGO Art topic below. -
Sorry, I didn’t make that clear. Most of it was bought around then, as of course the vinyl was still available after their demise. Nice idea with the white album cover! What about 96x96 rather than 48x48 to cover the four pictures when arranged in a square? And I’d be interested to see how they would do the lettering in this situation - the actual album does say The Beatles in indentation with no colour.

Interesting. This is the sort of thing which I love because of the perfect execution of a completely fictional character. Things such as these I simply haven’t got the creativity to make - I’m more a ‘real life and perfection’ guy than an ‘alien/robot/zombie/other fantasy thing destroying stuff’ guy so this shows the stuff I just can’t do. Congrats on an awesome MOC.

Forgot to mention but 5 more have been leaked - no details known but just the existence of sets - check the ‘2020 everything we know so far’ site. Anyway, I didn’t really give much of my personal opinion, so I will now. These look AMAZING! I’ve been a fan of the Beatles for years (I have my father’s vinyl from about 1974) and these are very accurate to the photos on the inner sleeve of the white album. To tell the truth, I’ve never been a fan of either Star Wars not Marvel, but I know enough to know who these are. The giant Iron Man looks amazing! (I think this pic hasn’t officially been released yet) Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe is an interesting and classic idea, though isn’t really one that works as a stand-alone - I think you need at least four to make it look good, which is £460 for me. I’ll be interested to see how far people go with MODs in different colours of this one. As is often the case, I want all of these. This comes to a total of ... um ... £1610. I can’t afford this unfortunately, so I’ll probably prioritise Beatles, then Iron Man (if I get that far!) On the topic of future sets, I’d like landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge which I think would work well - a 4 in 1 landmark set.
