  1. Thank you for your kindness. As for me being 'the man' I'm not too sure about that but thank you anyway I've seen your Desert Buggy MOD & look forward to seeing more of your builds. Should you need it, you'll find all the inspiration you need and more just by looking through the pages of this forum. There are so many amazing MOC's & MOD's by some supremely talented builders who, like many others here, will be only too pleased to provide help/advice if you ever need it.
  2. Hi Kumbbl Thank you for your kind comments and encouragement. Thank you also for the link to your hints etc., which I was already familiar with. Hints 1 & 2: I don't think these will be relevant to my build as I'll be replacing the IR receivers with Sbricks. Hint 3: I'm part way through implementing. Hint 4: I'll consider once the Sbricks are connected in & in place. Hint 5: Although a good idea I'm too far into the build. Hint 6: I'll implement when I get to that stage of the build. Hint 7: Already implemented Thanks again.
  3. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain the reason why those bevel gears are positioned the way they are. It makes me appreciate Jurgens design even more.
  4. Hello Technically Savvy and welcome to Eurobricks Thank you for your kind comments. The linear actuators bevel gears on the wrong way? Oh good Lord I hope not! I've looked at Jurgens excellent instructions & scoured the internet looking for information on this and everything points to them being correct but if anyone knows otherwise please do tell me. As for you being sorry for mentioning this, please don't be. I appreciate you saying. I'd much, much rather have a mistake, potential or otherwise, pointed out than finish the build and find something to be wrong that requires a lot of dismantling to put right.
  5. Beautiful
  6. The panels are indeed on the wrong sides. I'm phycing myself up to change them round
  7. I almost always use it in situations like this. 20 minutes or so trying unsuccessfully to assemble the parts make this one of the aforementioned almosts rather than always
  8. Thank you Edwin. I feel the best answer I can give is to repeat the answer I gave to a previous post. Pictures speak louder than words
  9. Build Day 13 - 23/03/2015 - Build Time Today 6hrs - Total Build Time - 62hrs Today started well. Well that is until I got to part 3 on page 193. Yep, the very first page of the superstructure build. So about 20 minutes into the days building which even for me is something of a record Trying to push the axle through the holes on the turntable, required parts and previously assembled parts would have been fine had it not been for the bush that try as I might I could not get to stay in place. After 35 minutes or so I took the pieces off the turntable and used a 2L axle pushed through the Liftarm and Bush as in photo below. Then it was just a case of carefully putting all the parts back on the turntable and pushing an axle through to drive out the 2L. Fitting the actuators while trying to keep the bevel gear in place was another source of much frustration but 1hr & 55 minutes and a good measure of perseverance got them done. Note to self: Move black pin connector from black pin & onto blue pin on unfinished assembly.
  10. Good Lord! What a beautiful vessel. It's stunning.
  11. Great little car. Well done.
  12. Very nice indeed. Thank you for making the instructions available.
  13. And after she'd stopped laughing, about an hour, she would
  14. Thank you Bart I bought the 42009 used and the stickers were already applied so the credit for them being straight must go to its previous owner. When I do have stickers to apply Gilly does them for me. If it was down to me they'd end up stuck to the table or worse, my forehead
  15. Thank you. I'm very pleased with progress so far. As for the bite marks. Oh they're there believe me During all my builds a few pieces get so badly teeth marked I have to either use them inside the build where they won't be seen or replace them (several times in couple of cases!)
  16. Build Day 12 - 19/03/2015 - Build Time Today 6hrs - Total Build Time - 56hrs Todays building was delayed for a short time while I corrected an error I'd made during the previous build day. The eagle eyed among you may already have noticed that the 2 x 4 L Shape Liftarms just in front of the seats should be 3 x 5 L's. Me being less than eagle eyed on this occasion didn't notice this until Stage 86 when I came to fit the 11L Liftarm but found nothing to fit it to. Off came the roof beacons followed by the cab, the offending parts removed and correct ones fitted. The rest of the days building went really well. Here's today's pictures.
  17. Love this film. I watched it at the weekend & wondered whether anyone had built or would build a LEGO Chitty. I'll be following this with great interest.
  18. At least you have a good excuse. I just take bad photos
  19. Build Day 11 - 17/03/2015 - Build Time Today 4hrs - Total Build Time 50hrs Would have been a good few hours building today but I forget about the 'errors' in the instructions (post 9 of this topic). After realising what I'd done I set about banging my head on the table. No, really I did! Strangely this didn't help. As it was nearly dinner time I decided to call an end to building and redo it correctIy tomorrow. There's not much to see but here's today's pictures:
  20. Welcome to Eurobricks andy111 Like both your builds & look forward to seeing more of your work.
  21. This is one of those very rare times when the word genius just isn't enough.
  22. Great little model and what a great location to test it. Now if only our local authority would be so kind...
  23. I find it hard to resist a bargain which might explain why I've accumulated nearly 90 Technic, Model Team and Racers sets in 4-5 years. Realising things were getting a little obsessive I now control my spending by passing bargains on to a good friend who has a Bricklink store.
