  1. Thank you so much. I'm truly humbled by your comments.
  2. Build Day 10 - 13/03/2015 - Build Time Today 5hrs - Total Build Time 46hrs After a few busy days today's been a building day. Nothing much to say really other than thankfully it's been a error free day. A few tricky bits that took longer than I'd have liked but I still seem to be making good progress and am enjoying the build very much. I've decided to incorporate Christophe Moittie's extended boom and have started Bricklinkling the few parts I'll need. Here's today's pics.
  3. I've been lucky enough to see this in the brick and trust me, as good as it looks in the pictures, in the brick, it's an awesome build with real presence.
  4. I like this a lot, it looks really compact.
  5. Nice to see I'm not the only one on Eurobricks who writes gibberish
  6. Build Day 9 - 09/03/2015 - Build Time Today 6hrs - Total 41hrs On the whole, today's been a good day. There was however, a fly in the ointment in the shape of the 'engine'. Those familiar with my other posts will know that besides diffs, assembling 'engines' cause me more grief than anything else & today was no exception. Took me an hour and 40 minutes but it got done and that's the main thing. One other annoyance. After attaching the Outrigger motor I thought it a good idea to hook it up to the battery box and check I'd not made any mistakes with them before going any further. Upon sliding the switch there was a brief whirring noise then nothing. Sliding the switch the other way had the same result The culprit. The 12 tooth bevel gear on the top of the rear right mini actuator was inboard instead of outboard. Thankfully putting it right was a simple job but I tell you, I was thinking major disassembly! Anyway, I've gone on long enough, here's today's pics. My apologies for the quality, I was on camera duty again. Busy few days ahead so no building All being well normal service will be resumed towards the end of the week.
  7. Sounds like an amazing project Edwin. They've certainly got the best man for the job, your work is truly inspiring. I very much look forward to seeing it when it's finished. Happy Building You forgot the 4th choice. An Oil Tanker
  8. Happy to help. I'm not so sure about the clarity of my explanations though. As you probably noticed, I have a tendency to ramble on a bit. As for whether or not you'd be 'as strong', I think you're confusing strength with stubbornness
  9. Referring to my build pictures while you build your Ultimate? Oh dear, that's pressure. I'll need to make doubly sure I get the right pieces in the right place I appreciate your kind comments.
  10. Good Evening Cumulonimbus Thank you taking the time to write such kind words. I think the best way to answer your question is for you to read my first my Eurobricks post. From what I recall the answers to most of your questions can be found there. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67664&hl=grum64 I hope this answers your questions but if there's anything you'd like to know please feel to ask either here or by PM. Thanks again.
  11. Thank you. I'm pleased with progress so far. As for logging the time, yes I have been but didn't add it to the posts as I didn't think anyone would be interested. Build time so far totals just over 35hrs. I'll add each days build hours to my previous posts & will do in future ones.
  12. Build Day 8 - 05/02/2015 Today's been a good building day with, I feel, a decent amount of progress made. A few difficulties causing a few quiet 'utterances' but nothing that couldn't be be done. Anyway, enough of my rambling, here's today's build pics.
  13. Thank you. Bricklink here I come...
  14. Thank you Thank you for your kind words. I was wondering, does the extended boom fit straight on the model in place of the regular one or does fitting it mean altering the deck etc?
  15. Build Days 6 & 7 - 01/03/2015 & 04/03/2015 I've at last had a couple of days with a few free hours to get some building done, not a lot of building but all building is progress. All went well with thankfully no mistakes, a couple of pins in the wrong hole but corrected before anything was connected to them. I'm thinking about using Christophe Moittie's extended boom but it depends on me having the parts and if not whether I can get them at a reasonable cost and in time. We'll see. Tomorrow, all being well, I've got a free day so should get a good bit done.
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks adizhero
  17. Well done on keeping all your fingers. Thankfully there's no need to rename you KitKat
  18. 28:10 21:6 22:4 27:3 12:2 33.1 Like other members, I found choosing a final 6 entries to be very difficult decision indeed. Everyone who submitted an entry is a winner to me. Very well done one and all.
  19. What an amazing build, it's beautiful. Your attention to detail is just staggering.
  20. Welcome to Eurobricks JohnBS. Nice to have the beautiful county of Somerset represented. The 8275 Bulldozer is a very impressive model when built. Enjoy the build.
