  1. Build Day 16 - 21/04/2015 / Build Time Today - 4.5hrs / Total Build Time - 74hrs I think you'll agree that I waffled on long enough in yesterday's post so as I've not too much to say about today's build I'll just say, here's the pics.
  2. I'd like to submit pvdb's Mclaren F1 for consideration for entry into the Hall of Fame. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=106881&st=0
  3. Build Day 15 - 20/04/2015 / Build Time Today -1.5hrs / Total Build Time - 69.5hrs As you can see above, not much building was done today. The combination of a beautifully sunny Spring day and South-West facing conservatory (yes, I know but it's the only place we could have it!) curtailed any plans I had to build. 1.5hrs is all I managed before I had to retreat into a cooler room. Before said retreat, I did however, come up with a novel way to support an assembly while I work on it. Don't get too excited, it's nothing LEGO will be hammering on my door for! During a previous days building my 'manhandling' of the superstructure assembly had inadvertently pushed the 9L grey axle from stage 13 on page 203 too far one way meaning the grey pin was sticking too far out. When I got to stage 40 on page 223 the 2 x 4 L liftarm wouldn't go all the way on the 3 pins I just couldn't push the axle through, I suppose due to the accumulated friction from the parts it passed through. All that happened was the thin liftarms on the opposite side were starting separate but at an angle as I had no way of stopping them. They would not let the axle through. After an hour or so of trying I came up the solution which involved a battery box complete with batteries and an iPad... Just the job to support the assembly while I pushed the grey axle through while the parts on the other side were unable to move as they were braced up against the battery box. Not exactly groundbreaking but it did the job. Sorry about my less than clear explanation & the poor quality of my photography.
  4. Thank you. Easy, no. Enjoyable, definately. Thank you Edwin, it's good to be back.
  5. Now where was I? Oh yeah... Build Day 14 - 19/04/2015 / Build Time Today - 6hrs / Total Build Time - 68hrs Well my friends, after an unexpected & lengthy break, today I'm back building and here's the results.

  18. Thank you all for your interest & kind comments. How's progress? Building's at a standstill at the moment due to component failure! Not LEGO but the backrest on my wheelchair which has broken and as it's the only one I have that I can build from things have come to a halt. A very frustrating halt! My frustration's made worse by me now having all the parts needed for Christophe Moittie's extended boom and, thanks to the generosity of the guys at Vengit, a pair of Sbricks which I'll be incorporating into the build. On the upside it'll give me chance to tinker with the LDD Cobra which I've neglected since starting the U42009. Hopefully the new backrest will be here in the next week or so. Yep, frustrating sums things up nicely
  19. Hi I'd tried looking on Bricklink using the 973cx6 id but nothing came up so I pressumed there were none listed. Maybe I made a mistake when typing. Thanks to the info you've given I'm now spoilt for choice so thank you very much for taking the time to help.
  20. Good Evening All I've just bought a 7237 Police Station for my Grandsons but as is to be expected for a set of this age the battery in the Light-Up Policeman Minifigure (973cx6) is flat. I fear I may already know the answer to this but is there a way to open up the minifigure without damaging it to replace the battery? If so what battery does it take & where (UK) would I get one from? I'd appreciate any help or advice. Thank you.
  21. Just seen this on the Kickstarter website. I need a new case for my Macbook Pro. One of these will do very nicely indeed. More information can be found on the Kickstarter website https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joltteam/brik-case I did a quick search but couldn't find it in the forums. Apologies if it has been & I missed it.
  22. Thank you. You're very kind.
