  1. Ideal Christmas Tree? For me that would be the time when Santa can finally relax and take his time to enjoy the Winter season. Maybe go fishing at his hut by the lake, take his trusty dog with him? Got more pictures over at Flickr, just click at the picture. All pieces are from City Advent Calenders 2011 and 2015. Roof can be tilted to view innards. And yeah, I know that the Christmas Tree is just the sidekick in this show ... that was completely by accident
  2. Another PF train motor + sides, 4 sets of big red wheels (each bag consisting of 2 flanged + 1 blind), 3 PF extension cables. Well, seems I'll finally start MOCing trains...
  3. This is damn bad news... so many people left with nothing for the money. I feel sorry for you all and shame on you, ME, if that's the end of the story
  4. Oh... Diner? 50ies Style, I like it (if it's a real thing).
  5. @ColletArrow I'm afraid this will not be an option, as I ordered parts to make my original sets whole again. @dr_spock Good that one can export from Rebrickable. Thanks for that, I will try this out to be on the safe side. @Foxw Yeah, that's one thing I'm very afraid to start.... Going to check out all the functions first, before I take the plunge ...
  6. Nice one, even if a bit blurry, but the idea and your determination is awesome
  7. Hey, that Gas Station looks awesome. So much thought given to all those little details... like the trash bins at the street And you stuck those flower petals both ways on those stems.
  8. Yeah... having received another package with bricks today, I'm fully aware of that dilemma I guess I'll try both, Brickset and Rebrickable, and stick to the one that suits best. Thanks!
  9. I would need to track my loose parts, as well. Is that possible in any way on brickset?
  10. Hello there! Is there any concensus about what to use when tracking ones LEGO collection on the web: Is it rebrickable.com or brickset.com? Or maybe another website? I have a medium mixed collection, lots of sets, some with missing parts which I would need to take note of, as well as lots of single bricks / plates / whatever. I'd love to hear your input on what you think would be the best tool for the job. Thanks & Regards, Chris
  11. Aha. Thanks a lot, @Forresto. Well, I don't know if that is Canon, seems I do have a different story in my mind from reading old Canon books. Dang, I really need to get my TV setup working in my new flat...
  12. Errrm.... don't have any means to watch any episode of ST:D now, but I'm kinda curious: What's that "Vulcan Hello" thingie everyone seems to talk about? Spoiler me, please, can't stop brooding about it
  13. Hello there fellow lovers of the Brick I had the pleasure to see the LEGO House at a Fan Test Event on 25th of August. So, sorry front up for being late to the party, but I have been moving into a new flat and was busy repairing stuff and generelly tying loose ends together to get life into acceptable circumstances ... *errrrr* As today is (was by the time this will be posted) the Grand Opening of the LEGO House, I finally took my time to upload the pictures from my trip on Flickr and share some of them here on EB: LEGO House from the outside. Still in the works in August, surely finished by now Giant tree at the central stairs... ...with little scenes from different themes all over. Top level Up here you can find MOCs from AFOLs at the Master Gallery, like this superb DOOM creatures... ...or these precious devices from the last millenium, artistically recreated with bricks. History section in the cellar. My favourite display The sign reads "Losing faith in the brick". Yeah, Jack Stone sets... No comment... There is a little cinema at the History Section which shows ads from all centuries. That guy here must be a relative of Benny... Huge layouts in the Green Zone at the middle level of LEGO House. I'm not so sure Mr. Banana Guy is aboard the right ship. Hope he's not going to get bitten by that spider. Lots of possibilities to play and show your creativity, too. No love for the Duplo trains this day. Tsss, picky AFOLs... Yay, free bricks upon leaving! And hey, it's the super rare 2x4 in Red! *harr harr* A heartily "Thank you very much" to all the nice staff @ LEGO House, you have all been great, very helpful and supporting!!! And of course also a Big Thanks for letting me take part @ LEGO
  14. Wait, WHAT? Octan is a discontinued LEGO brand??? I'm a bit confused now... or was this just a plain error on LEGOs side?
  15. Trash bins FTW Hilarious little racers! Thanks for showing!
  16. Yeah, had this problem on one of those connection cables from Transformator to the Rails. However, replacing those cables is very easy, nothing in those connectors is soldered. Neither the 9V-connector nor those rail conductors. Just get a cheap and thin 2-wire cable (slim speaker cables or whatever), pry apart the connector, rip out the old cable, put the new one in and firmly press the connector together. The wire isolation gets cut by pressing the connector together and is thus making the electric contact. I have done this already and it's very simple to do, can post pictures if you're interested. So, if the connectors are in good shape you can use those over and over, just put new cables in. Are 9V cables still available from LEGO? I thought they are out of production anyways, all you can get are those PF - 9V extension cables. So yeah, even stock on Bricklink or other sites will dry out someday, that's for sure. It's definitely a better idea to get rid of them when designing a new feature.
  17. I have been reading up on this topic, have used some FASA (role playing) books. There seem to be different types of Klingon cross-breeds, like the Humanoid-ones from TOS, the Imperial Race with those remarkable ridges on their forehead as well as Romulan ones. So these might be Remulan crossbreeds (think of the Remulans from Star Trek: Nemesis). They bear some resemblance with those shown in the trailer.
  18. Very cool looking model and nice details in your workshop, too. Love it
  19. With all those wonderful MOCs around here, it was only a pretty disappointing year in regard of official sets But as more and more Train MOCs even on LEGO Ideas are coming up, LEGO is not going to completely forget about us. That's for sure. BTW, I'm really digging that Ship in a bottle...
  20. Well, there are some comments from an Interview with producing staff from Discovery at a happening in Las Vegas which make me twitching a bit... und suspecting we will get more of a J.J. Abrams-style series: Changing Canon because the regisseur says so? WTF? Well, yeah I know we had bald Klingons already, but NO BEARD AT ALL??? It's all action from beginning to end. Mhm... I really hope it will blend better in with previous Star Trek series. Let's see
  21. Oh, Ship in a bottle? Wow. Might be my first Ideas set I will purchase... That's a nice surprise
  22. Haha, nice picture. Would be an idea for a Halloween-related modular
  23. For Austria and neighboring countries: 189 € for 42070, only on 3rd of August and only here. Quite a nice deal. I won't buy it, though. Have laid my eyes on 42069
  24. What a beauty Very sexy looking car! The colour theme is just perfect.
  25. Ah yes... I have found that specific vendor as well. One for my blacklist, it seems. However, I'm not into buying PF tracks as I have gone full 9V because of looks. But if I ever plan to buy something, this will definitely be a vendor I will avoid. Such a shame that it's always the copycats that ruin our hobby. First, it's MOCs and instructions getting shamelessly copied, and now this.
