This looks already pretty great. I can't really point out anything major - it just says YES! to me. Just a few tiny bits: I would try the window and door frames in white for a sugar-icing-look and maybe replace the slope pieces on the sugar-canes with this one. Apart from that, there is maybe some space for tooth pieces to mimic icicles. As I said - just tiny bits I would play with!

Looks very good. The dinosaurs blend in perfectly with the oriental-inspired colours for the buildings and the dewback does a great job as beast of burden. I just wonder how they managed to get the triceratops up the third(!) floor. They better don't show that the health & safety guy!

This is certainly - unexpected! It sounds a bit like hit or miss, but we will find out. I was hoping for something castle-ish, though.

Lovely stuff once again. You achieve so much with so little. Every tile, every hinge piece and stud are there for a reason - just amazing.

Looks good. Sleek, aggressive & nice choice of colours! Is it based on an actual canon- ship? I'm not that familiar with SW-lore beyond the films.

Sounds good to me! And I had no idea the prices vary that much internationally. The fishing store should be around for a while now. Maybe a year in total. I think it depends on the demand. The 1984 Ecto-1 was for sale for 3 years maybe, for example.

Hello & welcome to Eurobricks! I'm looking forward to see your creations.

Very good review and excellent photography! I agree. Its really a bit cheap to just make a sand-coloured snowspeeder and call it something new... But I guess thats not the fault of the Lego designer - unless the sandspeeder is not in the new film...

They have all so much character! And spot on. The mail van is so very cute and swift looking and the ambulance truck is really a highlight. Reminds me on a certain silly TV series. And the tractor is just adorable! So much more charming than high performance monsters.

Hi Nikus and welcome to Eurobricks. Yes, the Parisian Restaurant is the oldest of these sets, so your reasoning is spot on. Its already a modern classic really. And highly regarded. I would also take a look at the Assembly Square though, which offers a lot more pieces for its money. I think it also depends on if you plan on getting more modulars and build a scene with them, or display each set as itself. Or do both, as I do - which is of course far less efficient, but eclectic fun.

Really neatly put together. Hilarious little scene where the hobbits hide from the nazgul!

Really impressive! Nice job on the interior of the pyramid and with the lush vegetation in the jungle parts. So much to see!

Absolutely superb. The colours, the detailing and overall feel - it just works so well together and makes it so very lifelike. A place I would like to visit and stay for a while.

I think that's just what parents do who care about their kids. It can be quite annoying and appear unnecessary (and might never stop^^), but parents want that their kids are well. They are often just not able to find the right timing or the right words to express their love.

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Littleworlds replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I absolutely agree. But even if the series is a success, the Hobbit movies were very profitable as well, but not for TLG trying to sell its sets. I would love to see new sets, or any proper castle-theme, for that part. but I wonder if it needs a general resurgence of classical, high fantasy to see sets like this on the shelves again. And even then, they would be up against themes like Star Wars and Super Heroes, which are far more action/vehicle-oriented, which - I think - makes them more appealing to kids. -
Hello and welcome to Eurobricks. See you around!

I really like the little scene you set up. The Vignette looks good. But the original ideas-Delorean is just a hot, blocky mess. I would definitely try a more smooth, sporty redesign. Somebody posted his take on it here a couple of weeks ago. Maybe thats a starting point.

Another superb build. You would expect such a level of detail from something much bigger. Its always a pleasure to discover your latest MOC.
-
I like your idea. Maybe you use some prints of planets and nebulas in front of black cardboard as background. I plan to do a similar thing.

Pose and proportions are spot on! Excellent build. I could do now a joke about how getting the colouring of the feathers right must been the most difficult part, but I don't.

It looks really spot on. Down to the flower pots even! impressive work indeed. Thanks for sharing!
