  1. This looks really excellent. From the colours, to the texturing of the building, to the market stalls. Everything just works and fits perfectly together. Beautiful scene!
  2. Ah, interesting to see we had the same thought process originally Its often very different how a thing turns out compared to how did you plan it indeed!
  3. This looks lovely! Very well done layout and landscaping. I also like the clever use of gears for the towers.
  4. That's fun! Well-made scene straight from one of those Sergio Leone western, where only the local undertaker has a flourishing business.
  5. Now this is really impressive. Its not only a rather unusual idea for a landscape, but very well arranged and detailed. Such a joy to look at. I'm sure, Jang would approve! The only thing that breaks the, otherwise completely convincing build, is having the underwater base on a shelf instead a ahem "natural lego rock slope", but I'm aware that yours is a much more space- and brick-efficient solution!
  6. Looks good! Very well built and staged - quite cinematic. I would make it look more derelict though, to make it look more - I almost said lived-in Maybe the pillars more crumbled and more damage and structure on the walls as well, with rocks piling on the floor. Things like that. Its just a bit too clean for my idea of Moria.
  7. Wow, these are crazy! Its been a while since I have seen something as daring and innovative. Really impressive (and yes, a bit unsettling).
  8. Hello Chris! Welcome to Eurobricks!
  9. Looks good! I really like the shaping and use of colours. Very proper! The mounts for the mirrors are a bit big for my linking though.
  10. Hello Legorgon! Welcome to Eurobricks!
  11. I got my light tent from Amazon, plus some LED lights for about 30 € and it does the job. Its not professional-level equipment and I'm fine with that. About taking photos outside vs. in a light tent setup inside: I find it in general easier having a controlled environment where I don't have to adjust the settings on my camera halfway through due to changing light conditions.
  12. I think Bricklink might be a more direct way for that piece than trying to get the Exo Suit. Retired sets often cost a lot more than their retail price was. Its a great little set though.
  13. Hello and welcome to Eurobricks! That disc thing looks to me like something from Bionicle. This said, I'm not an expert for that theme. But the 21109 Exo Suit has these discs as well (at the thighs).
  14. A fun and very well executed idea! From the facade, with its really great sign, till the busy interior - its stacked full with ideas and fun details. Really nice
  15. Hi there jonwil. I think people care a lot about the pictures. Its after all the "calling card" of your project and de facto the only way people will ever get in touch with it on the site. Having a technical solid and visually appealing presentation is therefore really essential, if you ask me. As for tips: using a light tent, some spotlights, a tripod and a decent camera (doesn't needs to be 4-digit price) should already cover most of it. Apart from that I would use relatively low ISO setting (100 or 200) and long exposure times. Experiment with angles and see which perspective works best with what you want to do. Also people want to see long shots of the whole build, ideally from different sides, plus pictures of relevant details and functions. Afterwards, tidy up the pictures in a photo editor, like Gimp or Photoshop. Crop if needed, ensure that the colours look roughly like they do in reality and enhance contrast, where necessary for example. Thats it in a nutshell. The rest is finding tutorials, equipment and experiment!
  16. This looks extraordinarily good! Just beautiful
  17. No worries! I'm just ensuring that the moderators here don't get the wrong impression, since I can't see that link being posted without consequences.
  18. Lovely autumn-banner! I really like the contrast of colour and feeling between the background and foreground. Looks cozy!
  19. Just for the record: I am NOT endorsing posting links to pirated content on this site, or have even asked for it. I actually didn't expect at all that someone would actually put up a link to a pirate-site, hence my rather humorous reply to that offer...
  20. Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm looking forward to see your builds!
  21. Thats really cool. I love the amount of clownish madness they put into it. Especially the facade is really good. The price... Goes quite a bit beyond where it should be. Pity.
  22. I think its definitely the base plate, too. Large, thin pieces are more likely to deform during production than regular bricks, which can cool down much more homogeneously and quickly and are more rigid and compact.
  23. By Kahless! This is a matter of honour!
  24. Thanks for sharing! My excitement for the series has notably cooled down he more I learned about it in the recent weeks. i don't know if the pilot is going on free tv over here and I am definitely not getting Netflix just for that. A pity really. Though I heard that a second series is planned as well. If thats true, maybe that one will be better
  25. Looks really cool. Lovely greebeling on it. Very believable. Also at first glance I took the tyres for one-piece rubber ones, untill I took a second look.
