I'll look up some information. I can look at the original blue prints too. We used to share ldd files via brick link isn't it? Let's find out if I still have an account there. Copy paste the engine out of the mock up of the ship it's going in, I'm not ready to share that yet. Bart

Found a picture of the original engines, in the ship yard just before installation (1909) What do you think? I'm still wishing to add the two pumps(condensate and feed water to the boiler) on the side of the condensor (I build in dark green) but I don't think I can pull off the lever system from the crosshead of the middle cylinder

I'm trying to build an old steam ship as a model, first in LDD to see if its plausible and to estimate the required parts. But I've run in to a tight spot. the engines (2) where triple expansion steam. 3 cylinders. 2,5m long 2m high scaling to 1:40 via http://studs.sariel.pl/ gives me approximately 8 studs long. Only I'm stuck at 10 (11), which wouldn't be a problem you'd think, but the engine room where they are going into is small and there is other equipment to place as well (or I'd like too) So if there is anyone who has an idea how to downsize what I've got length wise. without losing the ability of the pistons going up and down when the crank rotates. best regards, Bart

I just found this topic, why just now. you are awesome! I should really get the drawings of the ship I work on now. I've already tried to build her in LDD, but never really got going, but you inspired me to get another go with it. But I do need the plans from her to do it right. Do you think its possible to do interior in a 1:40 schale ? Best regards Bart sneak peak on what I've so far. (after re-starting for the 5th time)

Ska the city game dinamics are even more broad than I immagined, I'm still liking this game more and more :D Hope you are able to keep track of it all

Tomorow is fine too, by my account. It's just for comfort, so you can keep track of all the buildings in the town. And the amount of buildings brings in cash to the town treasure chest if I read the rules correctly. and rules on how many plantations/fortresses etc the city can have. Bart

I thought it would be the mayor/faction/owner to do that. Bastion is NPC ? i thought it was our capital, and a playable city like any other.

lol, how horrible out of character for a Sea Rat to like a rule :D I just don't see the Pirate King levying taxes anytime soon :P

oh I didn't do it that way either. I builded a Freebuild, then licensed it via the webform indicating in which city it was. the fee for the license I assumed was all the fee there was. I didn't pay anything extra to have my House of Pleasure in Bastion (which still doesn't have a settlement thread) I asked about any fee or rent for my warehouse in Nova Terreli – Nellisa (ESL), but was told there was no extra costs. I did post in the settlement thread that I had placed my build there. Bart

I like Garmadon his idea, about the taxes and system.

Maxim maybe to avoid difficulties you could put 'license status unknown' (or something along those lines) And when people post a new ship moc in a thread you can just ask it there :D Your task seems to get bigger and bigger with this index, just keeping up is already a lot of work, (maybe that is a good thing so MAESTRO doesn't grow too fast

Nice build Bregir, I like it. I didn't notice the square mast till the last picture :D, so I'll forgive you that. Did you model it after an existing ship? Because I'm confused about the location of the cargo hatch, I would have put it before the mast, but maybe I'm wrong and this is a valid option too! As far as the rating goes, 2F or 3F, but size is not a deciding factor I think If I build a ship-of-the-line in micro scale I shouldn't rate it as a BoBS class 0. F because you said it is fast and its purpose to run dispatches. Great water too, Bart

CB4! welcome to bobs! :D That is one nice looking ship you build in the time given. The technique you use allows for very true shapes, I really like that. I'll start saving up some doubloons to aid in the license of the big one :D :P Great to see you around Bart

I think the question is more what the names of sails and masts are of those types (for starts)- 897 replies

I could do that, but it is a LOT of work. And there are many variations trough ship types and ages. So it would be complicated too. But maybe we can make it a communal effort? Something like the pictures in the ship index showing ship types? (The pirate forum index not the BoBS one)- 897 replies

Any BoBS game Lord can confirm that if I post my intro pictures in a separate thread I get extra doubloons(over the 25)? I personally think this is very silly, as at first introduction builds weren't even supposed to have an own thread, but had to be posted in the fraction thread. Bart

No, Sigfig intro = 25 db it does not get 10 extra if you post it in a separate topic. Free build 1 = 10 db Free build 2 = 10 db Free build 3 and more = number of likes dependable doubloons.

Topsail is the general name. If you want to be specific you could call it a jib-headed topsail or a gaff topsail. But that also depends on how you rig it.- 897 replies

Not bad, not bad at all. A little more blur might have been better. But theme layout and design of the landscape is very good.
