The Idea to build this came to me, when I was lining up the minifigs suitable to play a role in this world (excluding all the police man) I had this girls on a line and though, what can I do with those, and I started from there. the scene was the basis and the building grew around it. Having a scene play out is a great work around the fact I don't actually have that many bricks suitable for building a full (4 walls and proper interior) building. Sure Corringtonners and Oleonores can share a place, they can be sure neither of them would tell that they saw each other, thereby admitting they visited a place they maybe shouldn't have been. Ah I got it, I'll find out how that works in the future then :)

[CH1 A] Making the grey one red
Bart replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love it!, it's really fun. Thumbs up for making it appear like a very big and full scene while you don't even use that many bricks. -
indeed it works because of all the figures inside. and out on the street, without them it looked very empty. Balconette? the area where that one girl is standing waving down? or the grill piece on the front side? Good point about the horror parts. If it was anywhere publicly it would be in Bastion :D The ones on the ceiling inside? yes they are for ambient light. You don't want very bright lights in a place like that. Looking at it now, I should have added a transparent and dark round 1x1 below it, making it look more like an oil lamp for instance. Thank you.

Is there a mayor of Bastion? or is that the same person as the Pirate King ? I posted a building to go in Bastion. do we need a specific city thread for that? Bart

The sign is just something I created. I know these kind of establishments use red lights as indicators. I've got those too. But I wanted a sign. red as the colour of their business, gold as they make quit some money. looking trough the The Map Systems And Owning Land In Brethren Of The Brick Seas thread this is Artisan not Commerce, as Taverns fall under Artisan, I assume this does too. [ESL] The Knight of Stedor - 6 gun Cutter
Bart replied to Maxim I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Neat little ship, judging by the gold ornaments, that apple trade is going very well :D Maybe you can add some lines to the bottom of the sails (sheets) too next time. -
While the majority of the people are exploring newly discovered worlds the live in Bastion continues. As you can see this House is well visited, among all layers of society. Game wise does this count as commerce? there is trade, they sell a lot of beverages. @mod's this might be on the edge, please say so if it is over. I can change some or remove a picture.

[SR - FB/Intro/SigFig] A new arrival in Bastion.....
Bart replied to Vedauwoo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Welcome! Did I hear plans about a shipyard in Bastion? Great idea! with all this ships roaming into uncharted waters trying to discover new islands, it would be unlikely if nobody broke something. Bart- 12 replies

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-up and Discussion
Bart replied to kabel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
.SkaForHire, does a pirate ship's crew need registering too ? (yes on the MRCA question) so I can build a small ship for free, but have to pay 30 db + 6/month for the crew ? Because I would asume all my crew to be fighters. (on a nother ship you could maybe bypass with only marines asigned fighting duties? or do ship crews always need upkeep? Bart- 780 replies

Thanks for the explanation. Then me and the fellow rats can think about a form of defence :). Bart

Nice fortress, a bit vulnerable to a sea side attack, maybe. Good use of the tent.

[Microchallenge] A mysterious chest, floating in the sea...
Bart replied to Pimbo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
As you can read here: Captain Rodsh found land Rodsh did find your chest: micro challenge by Bart, on Flickr The contains was a bit of a disappointment though. A ships compass, a hand held compass, a diamond, a coin and a old fashion golden chalice. although those things would all make some money, if it was just for the chest it would hardly be worth it. Bart PS I'm sorry the picture is fuzzy. working on that.- 23 replies

Welcome to the Sea Rats! I love how you did the bricks in the walls.

[SR - CH 1 - Cat B] Captain Rodsh found land
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I tossed the plates in the sink and rinsed them with water. (or am I shocking people now) - the blue-yellow-sand order I picked up on Eurobricks it's not my own idea - I did the flower on purpose :P I didn't like three of the same colour. Now you pointed out the orange brick, yes it's way to noticeable, its in the middle of the middle there. I should've put some more specks of colour in the sides too, or left it out. On the pictures, I'll take a whole lot more the next build and see if I can take the best, and there by eliminating the ones with 'odd' parts in them. Bart -
[SR - CH 1 - Cat B] Captain Rodsh found land
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes I noticed the gap in the bottom too but I had the rock/vegetation already off before I looked at the pictures on my pc (instead of the camera) < lesson 2 first check the pictures then demolish Too flat huh? I thought I had quit some levelling going on. But maybe my basis of reference is a bit off when it comes to beaches; click (the fast fast majority of my beach time was on Terschelling) The light was from the left (window) and the top (ceiling light) I didn't use the camera flash. is the background too white? There is was dust on some of the blue plates yes. I'm not sure on why the overall look is hazy/grainy the camera lens is clean. Cannibals? what? the natives? I'll just feed them apples then! I also broke two blue plates (clipped the edge off) with the lego removal tool, the where on the baseplate. Bart PS I first got an amazing idea for a Bastion Freebuild so the natives are waiting for Rodsh to discover them. -
question about the game part of this fortress Is it owned by the Sea Rats? do they get the yield? or Captain Green hair who build it (but is from another fraction)? s it actually part of the defence of Bastion? or de we (sea rats) have to build another that actually works, and this is just an out of game freebuild? After successfully selling his rum in Bastion Rodsh decided to check out the rumours about new land. His crew had a great time in Bastion and where willing to go on such an adventure in the unknown. They might even come across another explorer who would be vulnerable to plundering. Rodsh found himself landing on the south side of the island. DSCN5663 by Bart, on Flickr.. The beach was narrow but well suited for landing upon. They dropped the anchor ashore and told Buddy to stay in the boat and guard it. On the beach they there was a chest washed half into the sand, by the looks of it it had been in the sea not even that long. DSCN5664 by Bart, on Flickr - It has GOLD in it grinned Rolf. - Might be empty too Rodsh answered, lets have a look. = Uhm Captain, the Bosun called out. there is a path with a gate here, a gate of bones! Extra pictures: DSCN5667 by Bart, on Flickr DSCN5665 by Bart, on Flickr (I hope it's okay I incorporated the microchallange a bit, (although the opening will get it's own scene) Bart I hope you like it :)
