  1. Amazing build. I really like the foliage and rock combinations, and the weathered look of the man made rock parts. Bart
  2. I'm trying my best to see the fun in the drill, but secretly I want to hide under the table. Just imagine it started with a cheese slope I saw fit to be a plane, shaving studs.
  3. without looking at the class criteria, I would expect them to be the same class.
  4. Thanks, I render with Bluerender, a piece of software made by an EB member, download somewhere on the forum. I increased the pixel count by a big amount to get the grainy look I experienced before out of it. now it only takes a bit longer to render, 1½ hours or so. I now feel like the boiler could have used some colour somewhere, but at first I wanted to make a fire in it but that didn't work out to my liking at all so I closed the door of it so to speak.
  5. Ah that explains, no worries then :D you could've put square 2x2 or 2x1 with a hole on it in the colour. not unusual for masts to be reinforced at the top historically speaking.
  6. I had ment to change that before rendering the pictures, damn :/ :/ it was a personal joke during the build..
  7. a new medium artisan in Bastion!
  8. After passing a very rough Sea of Storms, Rodsh found him self in Bastion. His crew is off to enjoy the town, Cathy is out to get provision for the ship. But Rodsh himself travelled to the outskirts of town just a little up the Lifeflow river where he finds the Shipwright Brothers. Masters in building small boats, sloops, launches, and even the odd canoe, you tell them what you want and they’ll build it. Rodsh is there to order new boats for his ship, as he lost two on his travels, and the other one is beyond repair, or as the boatswain said it, “a rotten death trap”. They recently hired a new apprentice, who today is trying steam bending planks for the first time. He’s quick to find out why they gave him those pliers to hold the plank.
  9. Ah! the low height is more or less intentional. For me that makes it having a ship feeling. and as far as my knowledge and experience goes, ships of the age of sail didn't have to much head space.
  10. That order is giving me the creeps O.O Nice looking lego ship though, I really like the details and the rigging. but on an historical point of view; the capstan integrated in the mast =
  11. good looking frigate. but why are the mast tops yellow? or are they lanterns?
  12. Sweet! With the change of colour scheme it looks so much different from the IFS.
  13. @Roadmonkeytj What do you mean by short? it's 20 studs wide. and I imagine it's a cut off of a Frigate. just behind the division between the gun deck and the cabin.
  14. I never even thought about tiling the weather deck. all my attention was on the inside.
  15. Maybe for another creation, but for the next two (when did it come to building two at the same time o.O), Haven isn't the place . Thanks for the offer anyway!
  16. I didn't specify rules nor custom in my question, because I didn't know my self either. Thank you all for the answers. Nice to hear Bastion is still the "capitol" as far as we SeaRats have one. Certainly my next moc will be in Bastion then, as I already pointed out in my most recent topic. the one that follows I'm still debating, building (digital) has commenced though. Bart
  17. Great example of a Bomb Ketch, and very well executed!
  18. Captain Dee, Do you perhaps also posted (some of) the pictures elsewhere? tinypic is blocked/banned via the satelite connection i'm using. :S Bart
  19. Thank you! The course is set to Bastion, and the story might hint to another MOC there. Thank you too. Yes they have some bad weather in the Sea of Storms. (A bit urgh that the splasing water against the windows turned out to be hardly visible in the render) And you can pull off a lot with LDD, but making a lashing with rope around a cannon. nope. I'm already happy that my skills are here, a kitten playing with a coin, a fallen over bucket. the things that are so easy with real bricks, are the most work in LDD. on the other hand. you don't have gravity or the need for bricks to be really connected.
  20. Is it still okay to build in Bastion, or should all new buildings be in second era towns? because looking at the settlement thread it appears to have died out o.O
  21. After a long journey beyond the known world, Rodsh and Cathy find themselves in the Sea of Storms. Their ship made a quick stop in * to visit Rodsh his cousin Jacob who is still in charge of the Derr Merchants Warehouse, the trade business is doing good. They picked up some newspapers at the stop over. Apparently there is a Ball hosted in King’s Harbour. Rodsh finds that is an excellent event to find out what all this buzz about newly discovered islands and adventures to the east is all about. But first they’ll have to visit Bastion, Jacob didn’t have any new boats in store, and the ship is in desperate need of some new ones. in Bastion there should be some available. and the crew needs a day or two off anyway and what is not a better place to have fun then in Bastion. *(I can’t find out where I ‘placed it’ on an Eslandonian island it should be according to the topic.)
  22. Nobody really knows the whereabouts of Rodsh and his crew, they cast off early in ERA I and haven't been heared off or seen since. In his name a trade post, a brothel and a counterfeiter are working. It is suspected that they are still in contact with Rodsh. Rumour goes that he sailed beyond the edges of the map, to find ..... .... nothing. What is not a better way to get back to know the people of the world by attending this ball. Although he is a Sea Rat, he is not on bad footing with any of the (dictated. regulated ) civilised nations, for him being away so long, and not having been in any of the major events of Era I. It would be fun, and I would be very honoured to see Rodsh in your ballroom. I believe he's not the most difficult to moc up. I will do my utmost best to moc (in LDD my apologies I do not have acces to my real bricks at the moment) something of Rodsh traveling to Kings;Harbour/the ball. Best regards Bart PS: if anyone knows if these coats are in LDD, it would be much appreciated.
  23. Out of curiosity do any of the fractions (other then the Sea Rats for obvious reasons) issue letters of marque?
  24. I think it is an amazing build. the details are numoures and the story fun.
