Both vehicles together: the steam ship 'Zephyrus' and the seaplane 'Island Hopper'. Details on each are below! ZEPHYRUS steam ship This small ocean going vessel is inspired by several sources, chief among them being the look of the old Adventurers products like 1999's set 5976 - River Expedition, and 2000's set 5975 - T Rex Transport, along with my six-year-old model of a American Missouri River towboat. I combined these ideas and came up with this model of a small steam ship for my Adventurers crew to use. I named the ship after Zephyrus, the ancient Greek god of the west wind, because why not? The rear of the ship. The levels of the ship come off, and you can put figures inside in various places. The ship also has a bunch of cargo lashed to the deck near the bow. Inside the bridge of the ship. This area features a engine telegraph and a ship's wheel. The main deck has the sleeping quarters and a small desk filled with old maps and other papers. ISLAND HOPPER seaplane In mid-2022, I wanted to make a "older" version of the Jurassic World set 76947 - Quetzalcoatlus Plane Ambush for my Adventurers themed models. So, I stuck the nose of set 5935 - Island Hopper onto the plane, completely redid the color scheme, and added floats where the wheels were. More recently, I decided to redo the original twin boom layout into a single tail, with the design of that section taken from the DC-3 airliner in set 7628 - Peril in Peru. The rear of the plane. As for features of this MOC, the inside is accessible through two removable roof sections with one over the cockpit letting you place a pilot at the controls, and the back section being the cargo area. I'm trying to build an old steam ship as a model, first in LDD to see if its plausible and to estimate the required parts. But I've run in to a tight spot. the engines (2) where triple expansion steam. 3 cylinders. 2,5m long 2m high scaling to 1:40 via http://studs.sariel.pl/ gives me approximately 8 studs long. Only I'm stuck at 10 (11), which wouldn't be a problem you'd think, but the engine room where they are going into is small and there is other equipment to place as well (or I'd like too) So if there is anyone who has an idea how to downsize what I've got length wise. without losing the ability of the pistons going up and down when the crank rotates. best regards, Bart -
Johnny Thunder and friends set out to another adventure. This time road is going by sea. This is S.S. Venture based on Peters Jackson King Kong. The ship is about 75 studs long.
