  1. If I end up not getting that bank set, I'll probably convert the building from 2019 60216: Downtown Fire Brigade to a bank.
  2. The bank isn't bad, the trucks in it are cool, I just wish the large helicopter was seperate from it, but I can understand this set was partly redesigned from the "dynamite factory" set that was unreleased this year, and from a kid's play perspective, big helicopter to chase bankrobbers adds play if they escape. For the same €100 of the Bank set, I'd rather get some of the €30-€40 sets first but I understand they are more expensive in USD$
  3. I still like the Police Station design, even after that video shows how small it is (at least in terms of interior), however, it feels more like a whole compared to the €100 2020 station , and this is €60, so probably under €40 with discount which will be nice for it's purpose, the garbage truck that comes with it is pretty cool as well. Getting a Chief Wheeler and Daisy Kaboom is a good extra. (I'm not going to compare this set to the police stations from 2017 or earlier as those were obviously bigger) Size/style wise it reminds me most of the 1980s Town Police stations, with a baseplate driveway, a helipad and a small office+jail.
  4. Yeah the Apollo Program insignia also look to be inspiration for the yellow cratered version of the Classic Space logo, and then the Artemis Program insignia is basicly a very modern version of the original apollo design.
  5. Same with Stuntz, even has a clown and flaming hoops. I think people were mostly meaning sets which would be putting elephant on a barrel or lion tamer , or an orca show for example, and even Playmobil doesn't do such sets anymore. Most of the stories I read from countries/states that banned wild animals from circus, don't mean domesticated dog/donkey/horses etc so I think those are fine, LEGO after all has horse jumping and police and sled dogs. Petting Zoo is another subject, I think the best way to do that would be something like a duck pond with a mix of ducks/swan/goose , perhaps a peacock pair, some goat / donkey / sheep type of animal, maybe a pony horse, it would be more like a mix of Farm/Garden/Park.
  6. 31097: Townhouse Pet Shop has a good bit of height and modules, but is about to retire. Friends will get 41704: Main Street Building next year which are basicly 8x16 modules, and some 16x16 shops with street-level sidewalks. Same set in different configurations.
  7. I had an issue with a bar/bar hole connection on the little scooter in 31081: Modular Skate House, basicly the bar is too tight into the bar holder hole somehow, while I had many other cases where bars would fit just right and not get stuck at all, even in the same set there are 2 bars in yellow you put into the same piece type, so in that case it probably was a rare part issue. However I can certainly see the marvel mech hip design causing trouble, with the 1x1 plate with ring, then the bar with ball, the 1x1 stud can move, the bar could get stuck, or the ring could break off from twisting the leg etc, all sorts of potential issues from that design, it's probably not very likely to happen on a new product, but from long term play it's still on a crucial moving part.
  8. I agree Circus with wild animals is a very outdated concept, and more and more countries are banning the use of wild animals in them. Same thing with dolphin / orca in captivity or shows. Playmobil stopped doing those sets as well I believe, but still has some Zoo sets. Zoo might work, especially if it's education/preservation focused, but I think having animals in the wild is easier to do in a LEGO set , looking at the Playmobil Zoo sets, there's a lot of material used on walkways/shops and not so much on terrain/animals, but playmobil also has sold seperate sets with animals for decades now. Duplo is a different story, which has sold many zoos and animals seperately, but in that context, duplo is closer to playmobil, less about building and more larger pieces, but in recent years Duplo has moved to animals being in the wild instead. Personally I rather see more exploration instead of a zoo, LEGO could still do so many environments, like desert, caves, various mountains and jungles in different contintents, rivers, lakes, seas, islands in more temperate/colder parts of the world etc.
  9. Friends has 2 sets with elevator for 2022 (1 is a rope winch, one is a sliding mechanism), City has an elevator/winch on the Space Rocket tower. I can see another elevator in a modular certainly possible, just this building was already split in 2 builds and with a special shape, I think it'll work better in something taller. And then there's another elevator option using the 32 length technic axles like LEGO has done an elevator in 3368: Space Centre as far back as 2011. Or perhaps something tooth/gear based based on the long used but still in production 1x4 gear rack.
  10. I really wonder what's next, the egg splat piece/mini tractor in the police command truck and the horse transport set really seems to point even moreso to a farm theme with perhaps a horse stable, but that's just a theory that is 100% wishful. If they do a full farm with cows, a Milk Truck could be cool, there's a lot of Ice Cream this wave. Also would be cool to see a Fishing boat (with nets, not just anglers), LEGO has a sardine factory on fire after all :D Another animal related thing could be Forest, as an extension to 60326: Picnic in the Park , and could also be horse riding related (like Friends did forest/squirrels all over 2021 , maybe a good time to have a minifig styled raccoon) This is just 100% wishful thinking, not a fact of any sort.
  11. But LEGO did release 2 Creator sets this year which don't have alternate builds , 40468: Yellow Taxi and 40469: Tuk Tuk , which don't really seem to be under any category right now. They do share a very similar box design as the train, just smaller sets. On the other hand I can see the Train being even more of a display model then those 2 other vehicles, difference between train wheels or rubber wheels. Somehow 30572: Race Car is showing under Expert as well while it's a small polybag car from 2019.
  12. Horse in a new color is nice, but what's even more interesting is the return of the saddle hopefully not just for a 1 time thing. IDEAS blacksmith horse didn't have a saddle included. Still secretly hoping for an Xtra polybag with a horse, saddle and some sword/shield/helmet in it (like the pirate accesoires had a shark/parrot/fish) , and sports had a bow/target.
  13. It's interesting that there are more references to City and Heartlake City being connected (and with LEGO movie 2 minidolls/minifig in the same set) , also happened with recent airport sets, and there's a HLC letter tile in a 2022 Space set. A City train is likely still coming as well, as brickset briefly showed August 2022 as the retirement date for the current 2018 trains, so it'll probably be a june-august release for something new in City. 2021 introduced the Creator Taxi and Tuktuk sets that weren't 3-in-1 or GWP with similar set numbers , so it's probably part of that "series" of generic non minifig scale models, the box uses a similar design, and 2x €10 set , and now 1x €20 set instead, with a similar combined piece count.
  14. Yes it's a new neon yellow/green type of color. Basicly a non transparent version of this :
  15. The more I look at Lloyd Dragon, the more I like it, especially the head, but need to see articulation in some video review.
  16. Training set is supposed to have Zane and Jay which aren't in the Temple Dojo , so I'll probably just focus on those 2 sets until summer wave is revealed.
  17. City Space getting Classic Space logos is a mixed feeling, love the torsos and logo stickers for sure, but what is it supposed to mean, a prequel to classic space timeline, mixed with current-day real world artemis program.
  18. No doubt I can imagine the Tiger set becoming popular on places like Rebrickable, and inevitable Dinosaurs and other creatures will show up, it's just an amazing set for that.
  19. City / 3-in-1 buildings and some vehicles like campers/vans can be pretty small to "play" with figures with. Friends sets are much more open on the back/roof which is a compromise between (role)play and (dis)play
  20. Also City seems to be one theme where US dollar prices are much worse compared to Euro, meanwhile some (Netherlands) euro prices have been really bad for some sets in themes like Star Wars or Harry Potter in the past compared to dollars. Euro prices for Western Europe got normalized for 2022 at least for Netherlands/Germany, and so far it seems to have worked out positively for Netherlands. The more I look at the City Space sets, the more I like them, especially the many "classic" space logos but still would probably wait for some discount for the Lunar Base/Rocket sets. LEGO description says rocket is 42 cm tall. Monkie Kid spaceship is listed as 41 cm long, Moon Base is 40 cm wide, just to get a sense of scale. And there are still 2 sets to be revealed (1 half reveal being the rover).
  21. The jump bar in the Horse Transport set uses Coral which is interesting. The Fire vehicles might have more neon yellow, but 1 brick thick is still a better option compared to a sticker or many 1x1 plates for some checkered pattern (like denmark fire trucks). I think the worst use of the neon yellow in City is the neon yellow fire logos on the 2 largest fire trucks, it breaks the "stripe" and also there's a red sticker/panel on the fire station which could've been used instead. However, there's also a clear difference between the actual photos and the renders, the renders being a lot brighter red/yellow then most lighting conditions would be. Overall I think for the Police using 1 plate thick , the neon yellow looks best with the vehicles being mostly blue.
  22. I think the €10-€30 sets are the most interesting/best value in Europe. For the bigger Town sets I like the Police Station the best, Fire Station and Hospital aren't bad either, I just think the 2018 hospital offered a bit more. Crane is cool as well. School, bank, factory are somewhat overpriced or too vehicle focused (the €10-€30 vehicle sets are more interesting to me except for the 4+ or helicopter truck) Space Sets I consider a different category but are amazing so far. Overall there are also lot of good 2022 sets in other themes that can fit in a City, like the Ice Festival, Friends Main Street, City of Lanterns.
  23. That Polybag looks like amazing value for what it offers, 1 fig, 2 skeleton, 2 crab, 3 underwater plants, treasure chest with ingots, and equipment Battlepack in a Polybag.
  24. I think the train is supposed to look like a japan bullet train (like the new york taxi set, and tuk tuk are based on real vehicles) , but then the sticker says LCC - HLC which is clearly LEGO City Central and Heart Lake City, not sure what this set is trying to be beside trying to sell 2 sets to display. (there were also cross-references of LEGO City in more recent airport sets and the 2022 Moon base)
  25. Apartments set is very nice for sure, especially the fact it's made out of seperate modules.
