  1. I have fond memories of the Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis video game for DOS from 1992, moreso then the movies actually.
  2. I love those mashups, looks like a great way to start building something custom without a sorting nightmare keeping 2 sets you might want to rebuild again. Also a way to create even more builds out of the 3-in-1 theme while using existing sub-builds (like that skull-castle)
  3. I think 60312 is a good car , might look a bit blocky at the front corner headlights, and the rear is a bit bare but I like the design a lot, but there's room for modifications. The car in 60314 isn't bad either, as a model, the rear could be improved a lot if you don't want the crate/caltrops play feature (could add the magnet from 60243: Police Helicopter Chase on the back if you want a return to "Sky Police 2.0 , now with airdropped cars" ) The dog-van in 60316: Police Station has an offset steering wheel so I assume the dog will fit in front when you put a criminal in the back. 60315 pickup truck looks pretty decent , but the mini tractor and farm-snake rattler + egg parts are best part of that set.
  4. For City I tend to wait for discounts, and also see what's in 2nd half of the year. Early in a year there are the Chinese New Year sets which , especially now, if they sell out, can take a long time to come back in stock. I agree most of the Ninjago are pretty simple, but seeing the build on the big combo mech live, it's still a 1100+ piece set with varied pieces/build techniques, rated 9+. And the Dojo has almost 1400. 2020 City Main square was one of the biggest recent City sets, outside of Trains, and was only a 6+, simple builds despite having 1500 pieces. I think LEGO is pretty on point with their recent age rating systems , 3-in-1 is overall even somewhat more complex then City, and especially the larger sets at 8+/9+.
  5. In any case when I talk about Warcraft sets, it's because I'm interested in LEGO sets depicting the Warcraft universe locations/characters, not the writers or game devs or past company missteps. I'm not as big into Overwatch now, I played it in the early days, but still would see how this Mech would compare to some other big mechs like the Ninjago combo-mech etc as a LEGO set.
  6. I prefer environments over vehicles, so getting something like Desert/Jungle Temple/Cave set again would be awesome. A large brick built propellor airplane like the Peru set would be nice too if they had to pick one of the aircraft.
  7. It can vary a lot per country , or shop chain, so I wouldn't worry too much if you've seen it in a physical store.
  8. I know it's still very early in the new year, but so far 2022 horse trailer and picnic sets look have limited distribution (mainly lego.com) in NL (Netherlands) , at least online, compared to the other 2022 City sets. 2021 sets that were somewhat limited or LEGO exclusives : shopping street, car transporter, police boat and wildlife rescue camp. I know this varies per country or shopping chain.
  9. Owls by now must have more variants then parrots, still hoping for some new sitting hawk/falcon type of bird, and maybe a larger one for eagles, last time LEGO made a solid colored parrot was 2019 in white , or coral/turqoise dual in the same year, and that updated version never got a printed one. Dual moulded parrot might look interesting if they can do a grey or white head on a brown body, even though its somewhat random outcome on the color mix.
  10. LEGO.com maybe shouldn't do GWP promos limited to certain themes when half of it is sold out or delayed deliveries. (mainly talking about some sets that are only available at LEGO.com, and some 2021 City sets are) On the other hand, makes you reconsider the "Value" of themes like City at full price. I understand the draw is to sell the new 2022 sets, but the current state of supply issues are starting to look pretty bad. (I know US had it even worse , but Europe certainly affected now as well) , in the end, it's annoying, but rhen again most of those supply chain issues likely aren't LEGO's direct fault.
  11. If I get end up getting that Fire Station, which I like, I'll make a combi-model of both 2019 and 2022 buildings. The Technic pin hole on both sides of the garage is interesting, as if something else is supposed to connect to the left of it. (beside multiple copies of the set) The 2019 station had various double-pin holes which allowed the Dock Side fire small set to be placed at multiple directions, but that's not directly compatible with this single pin hole. 2021 does have 2 "nuclear power plant" modules in the helicopter/truck sets with technic pins but I doubt that's meant to be right next to a garage
  12. The Dutch Coast Guard has a few different color schemes , all with some form of orange. Vibrant Yellow superstructure with orange stripe and top (Bouy moving ships) , interesting color scheme but I don't think LEGO should do such a drastic change. White / Dark Blue / Orange (Patrol Boat) I'd love to see a mainly (dark)blue + white + orange color scheme for coast guard ships , but I don't expect LEGO to change the current scheme which is fine, as there are already darkblue ships via the Ocean Exploration, and Police uses Blue ships, so might be too similar (main hull detail would just be a sticker anyway). I can understand LEGO changing the 2013 ship from orange to white with the release of 2014 Arctic in mind, and keeping it the same for 2017 CG, 2018 Arctic. And 2015/2020 Divers/Ocean Explorers having had 2 waves now pretty much established the yellow/darkblue now, + a bit of added red to be some continuation of 1997 divers. Coral as a color is a difficult one, might look too pink in large quantities if they wanted to use it for a Coast Guard, + 2019/2021 Friends already uses it for their rescue sea vehicles, however could still work for a stripe above a wheelhouse on a ship, like your example.
  13. Vidiyo had 2 bunny figures, a recolor could be used if LEGO doesn't want to do another mould.
  14. Yeah I see those USA price differences to europe for City ,and it's pretty bad for some sets, like Hospital/Moonbase being $120 (€100), Police/Firestation/School being $70 (€60), and many of the €20/€30 sets are $30/40. (with exceptions like Horse transporter/Bank etc) Star Wars has been the opposite here , especially in Netherlands, many $20 SW and some Harry Potter sets ended up at €30+ in the past. Crane is one of the few mid priced sets where $40=€40 (command truck is €40/$50) School set is overpriced compared to the Police/Fire Stations even at €60.
  15. Was looking at police station instruction and the gatehouse gives me throwback to this little set from 25 year ago because of the colors and position of the lights above a window.
  16. Well, look at that, that crane actually was flame yellow. I think the whole confusion over a box art vs 3d art vs product was a bit silly from my side, and in the end LEGO was actually correct, parts list will have the last word, and is why I waited for it before claiming False Advertising myself.
  17. 2% VAT difference wasn't enough to explain the €5-10 price difference ,which often was over 10% difference in most cases between Benelux and Germany on many sets. For example €170 vs €150 Blacksmith, and even on smaller sets, €5 difference on a €35 set is a lot more then 2%. And the prices are all over the place , even cases where a set was more expensive in Germany , 31105: Townhouse Toy Store was €40 in NL , €50 in Germany . And then there were cases sets being more expensive in Spain or France etc. Overall , it's so "random" , it can't be explained by something simple as a VAT difference. I'll leave out sweden/denmark/norway out of the equation as they use different currencies.
  18. I agree in terms of build and parts, the last 3 transport trucks (Boat / Airplane / Medic Heli) were significantly worse/simplified with 50-100 less parts. The 2020 Police Heli Truck wasn't bad but came with this bad non-working helicopter spinner driving up price. 2019 Harvest Transport also had significantly more size/parts for the same price as what we get now. I'd love to see more smaller construction vehicles that aren't 4+ for sure, the last €10 loader was nice, and I use the figs from 2018 Mining Team as general construction figs. A fuel Truck would make a lot of sense as well, with both rocket launch sets are still using the classic red/green/white Octan. A new Bank truck would be nice for sure. 2018 had a Bank truck in a Heist set, and in the expensive Cargo Train set, but a bank truck as a standalone, or a small set would be nice to see again. Mail is also relevant, especially Packages for sure, adding some letters is only a few parts with existing prints.
  19. Again, decent helicopter design, I like the loading ramp design a lot more then the simple closed off prefab piece (2020 Police magnet helicopter is still sold) , however the set overall only 215 pieces, at the same price of those previous 300+ piece sets is a bit disappointing, could've at least come with a 3rd minifig as a patient imo. (60179: Ambulance Helicopter had 3 figs without a truck) Also hopefully in the future LEGO will use more sliding side doors. 60166: Heavy-Duty Rescue Helicopter had a side door, and brick built cockpit, but also was 8+ wide 2021 Fire helicopter had a small rear door + stretcher included as well. As for the Truck, the cargo trailer looks a bit simple and specialized, technic holes don't make it look that good but I can understand they choice for the long technic brick to reduce parts needed + strength, to keep the heli wheels locked to the side at 8 wide, and keeping set price down, but I do like trailers made out of plates better as they are useful for other cargo : Example of more generic recent trailers : or So far, LEGO has made at least 1 or more articulated cargo truck a year since 2017 so wonder how popular they are. The 2020 Boat and 2021 Jet trailers were also more simplified/specialized just for that boat/jet it carried. But then again, can't forget 60305: Car Transporter also still exists.
  20. But the road plate can be moved, since the beach is 2 seperate 8x16 plates, so you can either keep it as is, make a 8x32 beach or 16x16 beach, or a 24x16 corner shape. In this situation, new road plate is a lot more versatile compared to baseplate.
  21. Well, part of the changes seem to be at least making Germany/Belgium/Netherlands Euro prices the same. (mostly at benefit of NL/BE prices going down by €5-10 on a lot of sets.) It doesn't really explain the Creator Pirate Ship price increase by €20 (20%) however. (or £90 to £105 ~16,7%) I know UK isn't EU anymore, but , some sets were quite cheaper in exchange rates, £180 for Assembly Square and £650 for the Falcon in 2017 values. (they were €260 / €850 in NL at launch) However, if looking at exchange rate history, the £ did have a peak at about £1 to €1,42 during 2015 , and still at £1 to €1,30 during early 2016 so maybe prices were calculated on those values, ever after it hasn't been higher then £1 to €1,20 from 2017-2021
  22. That beach is quite nice, and more dual moulded legs/swim outfits in other colors are good, I'd probably modify the road to be behind the building, and then either double the beach length or width. I know it can be a walking/cycling path though (I've been to Santa Monica beach which has a famous cycling lane on the beach) Building could also be easily modified to have some small bar/kitchen in it instead, like set 31083: Cruising Adventures had in an alternate build with a similar size building : Beach certainly is a LEGO subject that remains collectible frequently over the years across themes.
  23. Yeah, also Van definately, for packages, using those box parts with a 2x2 tile on top.
  24. I agree, and with the Yellow bicycle being made again, could even have one included in a mail related set again, last time was 1998, and even in 2022, normal letter delivery still happens with bicycle in my country.
  25. Ok , since it says Citymail, then it makes sense to be the main mail logo.
