  1. Do we know the June 15-30 VIP exclusive set yet? If it's not the Black Mech, hope it at least will come in June, no official LEGO stores in The Netherlands I believe so seems the only option is to order S@H (the winter nexo knight exclusives aren't sold much here, especially not at lower then LEGO's pricing). Regular retail been widely available, at highly variable prices as well Hope they add an official store in Amsterdam or Schiphol Airport sometime.
  2. I don't own this set, and am not a Star Wars expert at all, and also not trying to defend this set, but without changing the piece count, aren't people like expecting too much? Without adding pieces I don't think they couldve made a bigger attack force or a much bigger interior, it would end up as a door with an AT-AT or something. It likely would have been received better as seperate sets so people have easier way to get just wampa or tauntauns or snowspeeders etc. And give people choice to wanting specific parts. Minifig Selection I can understand concerns about no Leia. The set doesn't seem UCS worthy just because it is 2000+ pieces. The fact there's no current AT-AT on shelves doesn't help this set at all. I hope for the people that want one, that there will be a "Rogue One" movie AT-AT release, since it was so prominently shown in the trailer and potential box art.
  3. What I wonder about the most in terms of "character" sets, what they will do in terms of ultimate sets. Right now the only ones missing for a potential continued Lava monster wave could be Ultimate Moltor,Whipparella,Jestro. I wouldnt be surprised to be an Ultimate Ava,King or Queen set either. But then again, seeing the knight blister packs in 2014 came After the 2013 castle wave, this might mean 2016 is the last lava monster wave and 2017 summer might have plant and/or water monster packs. At least I rather see unused characters before doing a second ultimate version of the knights. I rather just see different variation/colors in the regular sets first, because right now if you collect all 2016 sets, you end up with 3 to 4 copies of each regular knight (some with slightly different weapon variations). 4 aaron/lance, 3 axl/clay/macy, and that's not including the Black knight set or magazine gifts. Of course I can understand that's intended to be multiple ways to get each knight, I just hope after 2 waves we get new prints.
  4. I like the idea of using those nexo knight shield models in future classic castle faction packs, interchangeable tiles (does not need to be transparent bright color, or have a scannable code for a game). Would love to see a set of those tiles come out with previous faction logos from old to new, but I think its hard to realize as there's so many different factions in the past and each had their own preference or time period they grew up with. I mostly grew up with a few sets from Classic Knights/Crusaders from my brother, later combined with a few Dragon Knights/Royal Knights/Fright Knights sets. But I do remember gazing over the Falcon Knights/Forestmen/Black Knights in the catalogs. 1998 was Ninja theme and the start of my Dark ages till now 2016.
  5. Looking at the highest resolution version on amazon for Jestro's Lair, there's quite a lot of cool extras to see on the back of the box, like a Rat, Chicken, red Spider, yellow Frog, a Cauldron, red Coffee mug, 2 gold Goblets, Banana, and a few different weapons (2 are red/black, meaning to be jestro's?) also a Red/Black checkered bed and some storage boxes. Definately a nice set which seems also mostly brick-built. Coming back to the Nexo Knight battle pack discussion: The $15 or €15 (locally) is actually pretty outrageous, compared to Star Wars battlepacks at least, which usually contain a small 50-70 piece build for a similar (slightly more expensive at most) price. The last Castle 2014 battle pack was $15 also however and did not contain much more either, 2015 had a Ninjago battlepack also at $15. Chima 2015 had Tribe packs, containing 3 figures but small banner/disk shooter build for $10/€10. I just can't get around why the pricing differences.
  6. I think they want to keep scurriers and globlins still fairly exclusive as that can be reasons for people to buy certain sets like fortrex/rumble blade/chaos chariot, especially with 3 different printed versions of each. I also expect new prints/outfits/colors for knights into 2017 just for that reason, also expect them to use some version of green scurrier mold for a plant or mushroom monster, or blue for water monster if they reach that theme. (going by artwork of stickers released so far) I agree the battlepacks are a bit expensive, would've liked them more at €12.50 or so, but at least there's some unique parts (both include 2 pieces of a torso and legs that arent seen on other minifig) Still mostly likely gonna get them alongside the Black Knight set, as exclusive sets seem to actually be pretty rare or even above lego.com price here. Looking at the keyrings produced so far, they might include those versions of Aaron and Clay with hair as magazine gift. Still hope to see a hairpiece on Macy as well, as the red plume included now is basicly only her ponytail and not her helmless version.
  7. Same here, 2 of them actually. Great playvalue with the cannon and boat. The large flags clips sadly broke pretty easily.
  8. Nexo Knight has 70327 The King's Mech for ball joints and sloped pieces/neon orange canopy. 70326 The Black Knight Mech (unreleased, no picture, exclusive) is also coming in the summer.
  9. Amazing representation in LEGO form , been to Efteling many times and it's definately one of the Iconic places of the park. Well done.
  10. I'm not a Ninjago collector so hopefully Nexo knights will follow with some buildings in 2017, that lighthouse looks fantastic. Also like the NRG dragon is one of the best lego dragons I've seen, looks like actual brick built instead of large pre molded pieces and the proportions are very nice. The Catapult looks nice too, has a bit of a classic castle look to it. I just don't want to collect more then 1 theme right now (), and mixing themes is not really my thing with such vastly different color schemes and minifigs.
  11. The siege machine on all wheels looks great, definately a good counterpart to the 6 wheel Tower Carrier.
  12. I don't expect a classic castle theme until 2018 at the earliest. Right now Nexo Knights and Elves cover a lot of aspects a classic castle theme would or could have. And they went all big for both in terms of characters and even animated series and games. Ninjago is also still running big, it might have a bearing on how popular castle is, there have not been as many castle sets since. The first original Ninja theme was actually a Castle subtheme back in 1998. The 2013 Castle line almost feels like the same way as the 2015 Pirates, a single wave.
  13. Could be the 70326 The Black Knight Mech at that price. (going by brickset listed RRP) But if it really has 530 pieces that seems cheap compared to similar sets like Magmar Siege Machine (516 pieces)
  14. I think flick fire missiles could still be used if space is limited like the 2 on Lance's Mecha Horse, or to look unique on The Glob Lobber. Nexo Knights theme uses a lot of different launcher systems: - Sphere Launcher (ball projectile) - Technic Cannon (rubber tipped projectile) - Spring Loader 4x1 brick - Stud shooter 2x1 plate - Stud shooter Minifig held - Stud shooter 6-shooter - Stud shooter (Crossbow shaped) Minifig held - Bar Arrow shooter Minifig held (used by Aaron as bow/crossbow) - Disc Launcher 1x4 brick - Plate with bucket & pinhole, catapult (launches 1x1 round bricks) And some larger catapult mechanics using technic assembly , or even special rubber technic pieces. Seeing how only 1 set in that theme uses traditional flick fire missiles (with the 1x1 cone) , it's vastly outnumbered by the many other mechanics, I think flick fires are on the way out but won't be gone completely. The flick fire missile pin/bar piece is actually used as part on Macy's mace weapon as well :)
  15. I noticed many of my nexo knights silver pieces like arms and armor got lines or stains that appear to be cracks or damage but actually are consistent in the same place among each of them, across many sets, so some of it is most likely just part of the mold process, and not actual broken.
  16. Finally nice to see some globlin spiders in toy form, considering they are on one of the book insert tiles.
  17. I just came out of my Dark ages since 2000 with Nexo Knights. After owning all the winter 2016 sets, I hope for more structures in 2017. I love the Fortrex doubling up as mobile base , or good guy castle , especially connected to Library it's a nice start of the theme. Jestro's lair this summer looks fantastic too so I hope they continue the trend in that design direction. In 2016 there are just a lot of vehicles, especially for the good guys if you count the whole year. Knight vehicles: - 5 hover horses - 5 big vehicle sets (1 for each knight) , some are modular to split in 2 or 4 . - 1 small clay bike on fortrex - 1 aero striker small flyer on fortrex - 1 macy's flyer with jestro's lair - 1 king mech + 1 small shield flyer - 1 soldier knighton battle blaster Lava Monster: - 1 jestro mobile - 2 small flyers - 1 small crossbow emplacement - 1 moltor lava smasher - 1 beast master chariot - 1 magmar siege machine - 1 chaos catapult Not counting polybags or magazine sets here. Still unreleased Black Knight set to come. I would love to see some sets like "Robin's Workshop" , or more civilian areas of villages or knighton city or the gold factory, just something with different minifigs or bot-figures from the show. Previous castle themes always had some neutral or smaller structures / towers/ prisons etc. and part of the show is about finding the books in remote places. I understand year 1 is all about the characters and starting them up, including ultimates , we got a ton of sets in 1 year to get going. And if you consider the world map's landscapes and the book of monster the theme can go many many directions beyond this.
  18. I agree for the most part the Lava monster army is very fantasy/magic like, but some of the sets definately have some hints of technology in small bits like the control panels/exhausts on the moltor lava smasher/beast master chariot, but it's way more subtle. I think keeping the enemy faction(s) a bit more primitive and partly creature based would keep the contrast to the theme. Of course the nexo knights can have mechanic animal-ish shapes like horses (lance mecha horse & knight hover horses) or dragons, (multiple nexo power shields are elemental dragon-ish), it also keeps the theme seperated from "organic" animals like we see in Elves & Ninjago. There's still room for more mechanical animals-inspired sets (vehicles or structures) when you look at the Aaron crest (fox), Clay (falcon knight), Axl (Bull), Macy (dragon), Robin (Chicken), King (Lion). I know this sounds cliche but they did it for Lance after all :) I just think they skipped dragons for now since ninjago just released some (& had some big dragon sets in the past) I got most of Wave 1 now, and I feel the balance between good and evil sets is decent from what I got right now (missing rumble blade/mecha horse)
  19. Very nice as is. But whenever possible I'd personaly would replace the trans light blue for trans neon orange , maybe add a pyramid stud to the back of the chairs at the empty stud. I'd also use a bit more regular blue wherever possible (likely at the bottom)
  20. Scurriers are just the right size to make nice minion characters. Globlins are just really small but I can see the point of 1-stud being more versatile for use as ammo or beast master pets. As far as squire bots go, I wish they made the royal knights either more human or more robot like compared to right now they are sort of both. Right now I like the King's mech squirebot more then the minifig variant using the same color scheme/logo. But i imagine it'd lose out on the collectible feeling for people who will try to get a clay/lance/axl/macy/aron/king bot. Nexo knight theme is just full of "completionist" items :)
  21. Lego had QUATRO bricks for a while which were double DUPLO size (2x as wide/2x as long /2x as high) 4 system studs = duplo stud , 4x duplo stud = quatro stud.
  22. I came out of the dark ages for Nexo Knights. Last time I got a set was around 2000. I am in the Netherlands too but I couldnt find a store yet that sells merlok libary/infernox/king mech all at once since they are sort of exclusive so I ended up getting them via shop@home because of the february promo (battlestation+robin mini fort). But I agree there's good discounts on regular sets if you know where to look. I dont go for ultimates so getting robin at least via polybag is a good alternative. I personally aim for most 2016 sets except 4 of the vehicles rumble blade/mecha horse/aero striker/thunder mace, unless they go at heavy discounts. Axl Tower Carrier adds more then just a vehicle since it contains burnzie. Can't wait to see the summer exclusive (assuming it contains spider globins/whiparella). No idea what the summer magic book(we get at least 3-4) inserts are, but so far we had spider globlin/flama/burnzie/sparkz/scurriers, I assume Moltor/General/Beast Master/Lavaria would be potential candidates since those arent exclusive. High chance of spider globlin/whiparella in the summer exclusive, I don't think they will wait for winter 2017, it'd be strange to do that imo.
  23. I just ordered via shop @ home 2 days ago in the morning, and it went to "complete" when it shipped so I assume it just means it's beyond the packing stage at that point ready to be shipped or already out. I got a DHL tracking number at that point.
