  1. Looking at the other sets in the terrible quality photo, I will say that the rally car looks like trash. Any functions for it? Maybe the hood opens, an adjustable rear wing? HoG for sure, possible suspension. For the car ferry/hovercraft thing? I think the flex axles in white are 11 or 12L ones from the scale. It appears to have mini tanker truck on it. Not getting it. I couldn't care less about the other fire/rescue vehicle. Although, it may be worth getting if it has the new-style sting on its winch... As for the catamaran... I cannot think of any functions besides rolling wheels and a turning sail... Hopefully it will have some #21 and #22 lime panels...
  2. That is really cool! The possibilities of things you can do with blue just keep growing! Any chance of using a flex axle of ribbed tubing around each wheel to smooth out the shape? Also, I think you could use #21 and #22 2x5 panels under the rear to mimic the little fins that are barely visible in the rear quarter photo. Will you make a video?
  3. I quite agree. And the "flagship" set for 2017, the atrocious 42070 was just pathetic... I would like to have some smaller sets worth buying so I don't have to blow all my money on a monster set. @I_Igor Those are ordinary balloon tires.
  4. Well.... Based off the preliminary images, I will say 1. 42071 Dozer Compactor: It looks pretty good. There are small sprocket wheels in blue! And a 5x11 panel in dark bluish gray! I will probably be getting this set. 2. 42072 WHACK!: Another little pull-back racer, this time it has the one function of losing its engine when it crashes... No new parts or re-colors that I can see. Maybe I'll pick this one up. 3. 42073 BASH!: Same as the 42072 WHACK! but with different tires and minor differences in the bodywork. And it is red. Lime wins! I will not buy this set. 4. 42078 Mack truck: Odd, the last word is not capitalized... Anyway, from what I can see this looks like it will be pretty good. Large, detailed and it has a side-loader trailer with a container. 5. 42084 Hook Loader: Another red vehicle... It has HoG steering and (apparently) a hook function to pick up the little container it comes with. Hard to tell with the "Confidential" stamp. Now, I think there is something wrong with the numbers here... Unless "42084" is a typo, then there is huge jump in the numbers that makes no sense. If it was the Mack Truck, maybe it would be possible, but not for this little set. So I am leaning towards this being a typo. Also, if 42084 is a typo, that leaves 42075, 42076 in this series. More missing sets.... Get your act together Lego! Final Note: My overall impression here is that Lego is rushing out some small sets (<$30) and having one large, realistic, sponsored set. All of which are due to be launched in January of 2018.
  5. Nice review, Thanks Sariel! I still prefer the A-model, but this is probably the best of the B-models.
  6. Ahhh, ok. Thanks! I will have more progress by tonight! Stay tuned!
  7. Wow... You did a lot of research on this one, and the renders are awesome! Good job! There are stand ins made of several parts for the Claas wheel hubs. Check out the LDD of my Monster Truck because i don't remember how to make the custom hub at the moment.
  8. At last!I am finally worthy of our exalted leader's attention! I guess so.... Didn't think I would be the first.... Similar, but the wheel goes to the outside.... Oops... Didn't mean to encourage my competitors! Good luck to you! Uh... Thanks? Not sure if that is a compliment, critique, an observation, or just plain thinking out loud. Yeah, I decided on an idea for the build pretty quickly... I knew I was gonna use the Claas tires for sure, all I had to do next was make the racing machine. Just write out a list of them, then gradually cross out the ones that are not cool enough, hard to do, already taken... Tonight I hope to have a prototype of the rear axle built, or at least more in brick then in my head.
  9. @Stash2Sixx Can you please add (not replace, but add) the new tag for me, when it arrives in a nice cardboard box from the tag factory? Thanks!
  10. No statistics have been revealed about this monster yet by it's makers, the geniuses and designers of Da Bricki Workshop, but rumors are that this machine packs a punch and will be truly unusual! Insert more announcer crap, superfluous speech, etc. etc. etc.... First of all, this model is going to be manual until I have a working prototype. Then, I will decide whether or not I have the time/space/ability to make it motorized with RC. Functions: 1. Drive: The rear wheels will hopefully be driven by a mid-mounted fake V-6 or V-8 engine. 2. Steering: The front wheels will have HoG steering. Thanks @Sariel for the inspiration from his RC Tumbler for the steering solution! 3. Suspension: I am aiming to have all-wheel independent suspension with small hard shocks for the front and large hard shocks for the rear. Or maybe small hard shocks for the rear, I am still testing things... 4. The Strange Function: Still secret... But the name and photo below should provide a clue... Leaked Photo in the Spoiler!
  11. @MangaNOID You have to use the old-style differential with the 16- and 24-tooth gears. Otherwise, you are correct, it will not work. However, I believe that Efferman has created differentials similar to the new-style ones from Lego that allow equal gear ratios to be achieved.
  12. Live axle with portal hubs for sure, or at least geared down like in Madoca's FJ40. And definitely get rid of the 8-tooth gears, and the rear differential. Keep the front one though.
  13. Cool. I like the flag on the front grille. Does the set really have the huge gaps between the engine and side panels? If so, I would cover them up, but that is larger mod than color changing.
  14. On either suspension variant, the best place for the steering links and rack would be behind the axle. If it is in front, you will generally end up with reverse Ackermann geometry. Regarding the steering arms... That is more difficult. It really depends on the supporting structure built around the whole axle and the space in the chassis itself. From my experience, the steering arm needs to be parallel to the lower suspension arm, and either even with, or one stud above the center of the wheel. One stud below is generally quite difficult, and I have not done that before, so I cannot say what effect that might have. Hope that helps!
  15. Thank you so much!!!! I cannot wait to try this out! With some mods...
  16. Awesome rendition of the Mustang! Don't bother making a chassis, just provide instructions for the bodywork! I will build a chassis myself. RC or nothing! The Civic chassis looks pretty cool, I am interested in the construction of the front axle. Also, you have the steering wheel on the wrong side.
  17. Seems like a good deal, but make sure everything works/has been tested BEFORE you pay. Otherwise, it will be for nothing.
  18. I could understand what you were saying, so your English is fine. This video was cool, I like how you reduced the speed using portal axles and the other gears, without needing a differential. I will have to try that sometime, but my crawlers are usually a good bit smaller, so it may not work.
  19. Wow.... I cannot believe you have all the parts to show these models side-by-side like this.... Will you be taking them apart, or keeping them together?
  20. I had to look at the photo a couple times to understand just how large it was. This is a monster, I can't wait to see some more photos of it.
  21. Awesome MOC, I am amazed at the functions included in such a small model. It looks great, and the suspension is really good.
  22. This model is coming along really well... but you have reached the point of having to limit your functions over your form. At this point, you may have to sacrifice some, most, or all of an interior in order to accommodate everything. Also, how do you plan to incorporate the steering selection switch? There will be no space left with the inclusion of a paddle shifter. The project I am working on required this... In order to have a six-speed transmission in the already extremely slim body, and still have drive, steering, and a battery box, there will be no interior, except perhaps a steering wheel and the top half of a chair. If that...
  23. Good review, thanks for doing it. Definitely gonna pick this set up soon...
  24. Seriously huge build! Awesome machine, I really like the control box. Welcome to EuroBricks!
  25. Maybe when you release this on ReBrickAble, I could take a look, see if I could figure something out. If you don't mind. Also, congratulations on making The Lego Car Blog!
