Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
brimbolet replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I never look at a set from a kid/adult only perspective. I want sets to look nice and complete. The buildings from the 80'/90's sets (before my time but I played with them in kindergarten) were really simple, but gave you a finished feeling (cars had doors etc.) In real life there's good design and (mostly) bad design that is surrounding us. It's not always a question of money, or in our case Lego pieces, but just the thought behind it. And honestly I wouldn't like to go to a school looking like that. Though I'm not fond of the Friends line, I think they have more original ideas lately, as others mentioned before me; and the Friends sets look to be better executed too. Because of my financial situation, price comparison is also important. The upcoming 60320 fire station has 540 pcs / 60€; the school 433 pcs / 60€. I just can see no justification in that. -

I'm really disappointed with the school. It's the same price (if I'm not mistaken) as of the current and new fire station, it has more than 100 (!) bricks less and looks so unfinished that I'm speechless. No roof, the school bus comes with no doors... The pupils are so great, and the blurry school kids polybag will be a hit so I'm really really sorry for the wasted potential. The hospital is very good, though I prefer the last one. Not a fan of curved walls in general. Still not sure about the space sets. Why the horse transport comes with a husky and no foal I don't understand, but it's a good looking set. The mobile crane and surprisingly picnic in the park are the first sets I'm getting. The squirrels are amazing. -

Are You sure it's not 6studs? The front window looks more than 2studs to me. -
You mean the blue and white Creator train? I hope that's not it.

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
brimbolet replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Absolutely. I was hoping for some "civilian" stuff to populate SW dioramas with. There's too much focus on Empire Strikes Back personally. When was the last set from the Battle of Endor; seems ages ago. On the other hand it could have been worse... Jar Jar & another R2D2 -

I agree, the monorail makes the set look somehow ridiculous. Shame Lego doesn't make a proper (City) monorail fitting the new tracks. -
Didn't realize until the last picture that your plane is soo big! Simply stunning.

Ah now I understand... I'm totally in for a wildfire subtheme set in the Australian outback, with kangaroos, koala bears etc. beside the obvious firefighter equipment! -

I still don't understand why the animal molds for Friends and City are different. Just paint them differently (if manga eyes are necessary) and Lego could cut some costs and give us more different species. Why is it possible for Playmobil to make a so many animals each year for decades and sell those, but Lego claims e.g. farm sets don't sell? I don't think a subtheme is needed for that. The Lego designers should go to some fire brigade for one week, look what they are doing and make realistic sets. Just show the kids a glimpse of true life. -

True. Well let's hope some pictures will show up soon. Squirrels will be a great addition for forest layouts. Bought the Santa's sleigh just for the deers recently. -

I forgot the dolphin, but didn't all the cats and dogs have a stud on their back? -

According to promobricks.de it will be available in January. Maybe I'm wrong, but personally I don't think the squirrel is Lego... it was far too big, and as far I remember (just saw the picture once), there wasn't any stud on it. Don't think there has been a studless animal (mammal) ever in the regular lineup. The mobil crane is splendid, I'm glad it's (bright) yellow instead of the rumored orange. It's the best construction set in years! However the rumored price of 40€ leaves me thinking what we can expect from a police station (including garbage truck & helicopter) or school with bus for 60€ each. I really hope the building aren't just two studs deep! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
brimbolet replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Has the forest spirit an upside down acorn on his head or is it a fur hat, that can be used in a historical setting? The bard is a great surprise and I'm happy to collect more animals, though the warrior is disappointing. Somehow the white fur looks too bright/too clean... The packaging (blue background) itself doesn't go well with the figures IMO. Not a brilliant series on the whole but I like most of them. -
Very stylish MOC that captures so many architectural elements beautifully! I think it's time again to pack my travel boots...

Great models, the oceanography aquarium & helicopter are particularly impressive (I like realistic looking helicopters). Thank's for sharing!

Instagram has a picture of a coffee shop on wheels. Looks like a nice possible City addition. Is this a rumored set or just someone's MOC? -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
brimbolet replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
A triangular shape of the building sounds quite intriguing. I hope the various hotel rooms are not only furnished with beds/toilets but have a nice story to tell too. The interior of the Corner Garage suffered because of the complicated shape of the building in my opinion. Do you think their sources are reliable? Last year there was some talk about a restaurant with special roof design, which later turned out to be false... -

A hotel will certainly have additional space uses, like a restaurant, boutique etc... so I see a lot of great potential. However how a building like that will look next to the police station is a different matter. -
