  1. I'd rather buy something again in August than take any chances in missing this awesome GWP. With all the forestmen related parts currently in production I really hope we'll get at least one medium sized Creator set, though perhaps not a remake this time around but a civilian setting/medieval boat... , which could accompany the 90th anniversary castle.
  2. Sigh, I went twice to my store and they had no new Falcon knights.
  3. My store also had a chihuahua, but I took the grey cat.
  4. Thank you for this information; didn't know there had been differences in box art even back then. But a quick look on google shows that the castle system writing was in the center beneath Legoland and much more agreeable to look at.
  5. Why for heaven's sake did they have to make the small black Castle System writing beneath the set description in the left corner. It absolutely ruins the perfect proportions of the otherwise nice nod to the vintage box art. I'm going to get it on the first day, already told the office I have to come later to work.
  6. As I remember LOTR sets were quite popular where I live, though they were on the more expensive side. The Helms Deep battlepack was often sold out. Hobbit sets on the other hand disappeared rather quickly. The Amazon series is coming in fall/winter so there's still plenty of time left for a Lego wave starting in 2023. After all there are no City or Star Wars rumors for the next year. Lego sure knows how to keep secrets this time, we still haven't seen any minifig leaks for the 90th anniversary set so I really hope we'll get something Castle related before the 100th anniversary.
  7. Considering the last proper castle wave was 2010/2011 I'd say it's about high time. But perhaps Lego is waiting for the LOTR license.
  8. You forgot about the elephant! The price for the barn (though high) is quite worth it in my opinion, if you care to look at Star Wars sets etc. in the same price category. I just wish Lego makes some Australian animals one day.
  9. Lego should have made an Australian flying squirrel in tan. Some people would buy multiple rollercoasters just for them.
  10. I didn't plan to buy this set anyway, but the colors are pretty cool and much better than I expected after seeing the first sketch. The only negative point I see here is the wagons elevator... it completely ruins a fairground feeling imo.
  11. The multicolor wooden boards on the tower give it a very realistic touch; and the proportions are just perfect.
  12. I wonder if that will really be the case. Seems to me that the average (grand-) parent doesn't even care to check prices for better offers.
  13. Someone at brothers-brick claims that the price for the anniversary castle will rise from €$350 to €$450. That must be wrong (?), otherwise it would mean an increase of ca. 28% before the set is even released!!! Full article and the mentioned comment here: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2022/06/02/lego-announces-price-increases-for-second-half-of-2022-news/
  14. I wish, I wish... we had a "traditional" lineup with smaller sets at affordable prices so children could buy some of them with their pocket money. Average customers have practically 0 possibilities to buy some castle parts. I am fortunate enough to have a Lego store just some hours drive from home, but all the new white falcons parts were sold out within hours; and it's not certain they'll get new ones.
  15. Those were great sets, the only ones with new black/white horses until now I believe. Unfortunately I was still in my dark ages back then.
  16. Great fortress; congratulations!
  17. I'm afraid that at present Lego makes indeed more money through various B&P orders. Benny's Space Squad was one of dozen sets related to the Lego Movie, City has now some TV series running and Lego tries desperately to reach more children through various mass media. Even during carnival superheroes or policemen costumes are more popular than knights or pirates. That's why I'm so counting for a successful LOTR Amazon series, perhaps we'll get some great castle related battle packs then.
  18. In my experience you have to buy an additional item to get the GWP.
  19. Yes, as GeoBrick mentioned one set per household. Some people claim that they order sets online and get one GWP and on the same day drive to the local Lego store and get another (because the store system doesn't see your online order - or something like that). However I cannot verify this.
  20. I think this GWP will be extremely popular: it's actually quite big, has 2 minifigs included and has a huge nostalgic factor for many of the older AFOLs who grew up with classic castle. If you care to compare it with the Idea sailboat, which is already one of the more expensive recent GWPs on ebay, I expect prices at 50€$ (or possibly even beyond); that's already 1/3 of the rumored threshold! You probably be better off buying a random set(s) - which you could sell later on/give as gift to relatives - and keeping the Forest Hideout for yourself.
  21. The Inquisitor Transport is amazing, really really big and menacing. After the Rogue One sets finally something new worth of the Empire and fitting the original SW trilogy. I hope the Obi Wan series will be just as great and we will see more brilliant sets in the following wave. The starfighter unfortunately looks again bad with the higher cockpit...
  22. Splendid Moc; congratulations!
  23. Thank you; I'm really exited about this set but the price is way beyond what I was expecting. Without a discount I'll have to pass it unfortunately and just look for the figures and interesting elements on P&B.
  24. Will this set be basically a Lego exclusive or available at selected retailers after some time; any news on that?
  25. I have bought an old Austrian catalogue from 1991, and the price was 255 ATS (=18,55€) at that time; adjusted to inflation it would probably be a set between 31,55€ and 37,10€ today.
