  1. Got last year's 60307 Wildlife Rescue Camp finally. I've been on the fence for a long time, because it's quite expensive and the builds are not attractive at all, but I sure didn't want to miss the elephant mould. Who knows, maybe we won't see it again for another 5 years. Oh and by the way, I can't remember the last medium/bigger set I bought that was only 55% full...
  2. We need to lay a Forestmen + Wolfpack siege to the Lego fortress... eeh factory!
  3. No, I meant Pick a Brick. I thought Bricks and Pieces is gone now?
  4. Speaking of PAB; for months and months now I'm trying to buy the Black Falcon torsos/shields (from the blacksmith set), but with 0 success. Are they now sold out/not available because of the anniversary set; because of the recent PAB system change or are they only not available in my country?
  5. Now THAT is how all modern Lego catalogues should look like! Very nicely done!
  6. Wow, this is simply great. And I might say, I like the concept behind this castle much much more than Lego's own anniversary set! Especially the addition of a medieval port, since Lego neglected the sea shores and river banks for years unfortunately, and castles/fortresses were always built to control various merchant routes after all. Also the proportions of the fortress tower with the smaller entry gate are superb and a very realistic presentation of medieval donjon/castle keep. Thank You for sharing your pics!
  7. I know Promobricks is very reliable and they make perfect sketches of the finished sets for instance, but still I was wondering... As I remember, they usually post € and not $ prices, and secondly 40, 50 or even 60€ for a ca. 600 pieces licensed set just sounds too good to be true. Perhaps someone (not at Promobricks !) is putting wrong info out on purpose, so it's not obvious where the leaked desriptions are coming from? Maybe it sounds too complicated and if so I'm more than happy that prices seem to return to a more reasonable level.
  8. I'm very excited about the news but I wonder how reliable the overall set informations are, given the prices sound far too reasonable for a licensed theme in the first place and in light of the current "price adjustments".
  9. Today is the 1st, and at least 2 more retailers have the new farm sets besides Lego. The great farm polybag however I couldn't find anywhere. BTW some City sets were already at my local Lego store on sale: 60197 passenger train, 60292 town center, 60302 wildlife rescue, 60301 4+ wildlife rescue, and some stunts sets among them (can't remember which). So they're probably ending production.
  10. If there is an X-ray app for phone someday in the future, Lego surely will develop an eco-friendly foil to put the minifigure into and later on into the eco-friendly box... just to enhance the customer experience of course.
  11. That's the point. 80% or more don't even care to feel the bags, or you're not allowed to do it in shops anyway (even long before the pandemic and before people started wearing gloves). That's why I rarely see messed up bags at all. Does anyone know, how many bags for each CMF series are being produced? 500 000, 1 000 000? Really have no idea, but I'm sure Lego is hoping to push up sales by more than 15%. But will retailers buy so many new boxes after the Vidiyo fiasco? Where I live they still are not able to sell all the discounted series 21 and Looney tunes bags.
  12. Today I got exactly all the necessary parts for the Artist from series 4 at the BAM in my Lego store, hurray. But in the meantime I heard some parents complain about the price per figure - 2,50€ was already too much for them - and they bought one of the bigger sets on the way out. I really don't know how Lego can expect to gain more (new) customers with this move unless they make it a double pack: roman soldier /barbarian; policewoman/robber etc... This I could accept in return for the blind boxes.
  13. Greenwashing is still possible even if products are FSC certified, as reported e.g by Greenpeace and others. And even if it's not the case here, which I hope, it still would be better to replace traditional foil packs with biodegradable ones, like in the supermarket. Paper, cardboard boxes etc. are highly energy consuming, water polluting (even when recycled) compared to biodegradable foils or bags. Making everything out of paper (eg. bags inside Lego sets) because it's "sustainable" in the eyes of the public, doesn't mean it's good for the environment. And that should be the ultimate goal.
  14. How common is it for kids really to swap minifigs among them? I've read somewhere that even Lego stores had some day per month where fans were allowed to do that but I've never witnessed it myself. Or is it just a practice in the US?
  15. It's always incredible to see what people can make out of "normal" plastic model kits, but you making a minifig scale boat out of bricks brings it to another level. Simply stunning!
  16. It's always good to cut down forests, so the company management can claim they're sustainable and cash on state subsidies... Seriously I think it's the end for the CMF in the long run. They cost already half a little 10$ set. 1 figure! Not long ago the starter packs had 3-4 minifigs each + animals/vehicles. I always buy figures I can feel for myself, family members, friends and recently even for my non AFOL neighbors, because they wanted some Muppets badly. Since I've only discovered the BAM tower in my Lego store, I rather spend my money on it in the future.
  17. Being more interested generally in historic themes I occasionally buy Star Wars and very seldom Space sets, but looking through the pictures I'm very very tempted to get this one on a discount. Will this be a Lego/retailer exclusive?
  18. Instead of a wand for the magician, a glow in the dark ghost would have been even better.
  19. Oh, I really like the two smaller models! I just bought the blacksmith myself, to get the forest hideout of course, so I'm planning on building it according to instructions, but after a time I'll have to downsize it too, so it'll fit the old falcon castle and the other vintage sets I'm trying to collect. Regarding the anniversary set, I just saw the video with the mechanism that transforms the balcony above the mill into the footbridge when the castle is opened. So unexpected and brilliant !!!
  20. Really nice vessel. Too bad there has never been a proper trading ship since then. No wonder the pirates finally got stranded on an island and opened their own tavern.
  21. How could I've missed that before? A very good modification of the BSB!
  22. It's a good looking set, but with the detailed descriptions, sketches and the rumored 300€+ tag, I knew beforehand I'd have to skip it. And even though the figures are fabulous, I'm honestly not so much sorry about that. My main complaint is that the castle lacks an inner court to play within. All the parts that are used to gain the imposing hight could have been used fore some small civilian building inside (warehouse for the blue cart for instance). But I'm really happy for everyone who'll able to get it, Lego certainly has made a very good job here and hopefully some rare parts will be available on P&B next year.
  23. This might be a way for the desktop building instructions app version (though I'm not certain it'll work in your case): https://pcmac.download/app/1486159728/lego-building-instructions
  24. I'm back from the store and the hideout is gorgeous. Maybe it's my imagination, but the box art looks so much better than contemporary sets; love especially the pictures on the back even though there are no alternative builds shown. I had never any of the vintage boxes in my hands before, but this certainly feels really close to it. This is certainly the best GWP I've ever been able to get, and if Lego decides to make something similar for Pirates, City or Space in the future, then I'm all for it!
