Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
brimbolet replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Just looked the set you mention up. The car was 4 studs wide. I really wonder now if we can expect major changes in car design, if the rumored informations are true. E.g. 433 elements for the 2 storey school with bus, bus stop, playground and road... they'll have to make concessions somewhere. -

Perhaps someone was misquoted and the amount of pieces is wrong? The skater car polybag has 40 pieces, how 11 additional elements can improve a set like this I honestly don't know. -

Lego promised us with My City a new building experience, where children will be able to expand their town freely. One year later I don’t see much of it honestly. The focus is still primarily on vehicles and buildings are the exception. E.g. we get an ice cream truck, but not an ice cream parlor. Certainly it’s good to see for the first time a school, and after some pause a hospital, but sets like these (+ construction, farm, zoo) should be available all the time. Shame that practically all the cheap sets are 4+. Let’s wait for the first pics, but I keep my hopes low for something fresh and exciting at the start of the new year. -
Honestly I'm not counting on a rerun anytime soon. My only hope is they'll make a 90 anniversary set for each of the classic themes eventually. Castle probably first (the most popular), Space (the first beside Town) and Pirates last (though they are the first true adventurers!). For some reason Pirates had always a hard time sailing against the winds of the Lego world. After the great initial start with many exotic animals and special moulds most later sets were just simple idea remakes with vessels getting smaller and smaller and more primitive. We never got a decent merchant ship to plunder and the native Islanders hurt probably one of the Lego managers so they had to go over the plank first. But we're a stubborn bunch and we will master what the seas have in store for us!

It was a free gift if you spent more than 85$/85€. I missed it initially, but got one on Ebay for around 15€. I wouldn't count that it will return; the Charles Dickens set was now only available in the US. If you spot the car somewhere for a reasonable price buy it before thinking too long. It's really cool. And if Lego sells them again, then you'll have two!

Lego's Gift With Purchase like 40370 Trains Anniversary Set -
I usually have nothing against studs, quite the contrary actually, but on transparent pieces they look sometimes odd. The bottom studs on the front windshield aren't even the problem for me; it's the side windows. In the T1 the windows were pushed inwards and the connection was masked with a row of white tiles in front, which wasn't of course accurate. But they could have used years later the white window frames with glass instead. Rotated at 90° it would even fit the window bars of the model. That would have improved the visual appeal for me greatly.

I don't like this "upgrade" at all. Maybe it's an illusion, but the roof looks far too thick in relation to the windows. And why are the studs at the bottom of the windows visible? The old T1 was much more elegant in that respect. I'll certainly look this up at my Lego store, but I'm doubtful about getting it. The vintage pickup is the better choice. Thank's for the review.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
brimbolet replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Is the double points offer for online purchases only? I've been at the Lego store today, but after checking my VIP account at home I've got just 1x points. Has anybody a similar experience? -

A masterpiece, as always! I wish Lego would make a GWP in a similar fashion just for once. -

I too think that the vehicles offer many possibilities; hope they'll make a safari or zoo transporter with a rhino one day. -

That's true, but on the other hand will a 5-7 year old kid like to have just a scenery set. I doubt it, there must be something more to it. I don't know where the park info originated from, perhaps it's only a vague description/translation, and we'll get a mini-zoo or some sort of playground. -

If Lego decides to make a post office or farmer market, I hope they'll focus more on the buildings and not on the various vehicles. The 60306 Shopping Street suffers really from that in my opinion. -
Funny, I think the rumors sound quite boring and therefor realistic. I'd say the Y-Wing would be 4+. 30$ (if the price is correct) for a downscaled regular set is too cheap. The most anticipated set is for me of course the Skywalker homestead. Could be a fake of course, but on the other hand Lego knows we all wait for it, and they have to release it eventually - and before the 100th film anniversary too.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion

The rumors get me really hyped, construction sets in City finally! A cement mixer and a crane after so many many years, now that would be truly amazing! If Lego makes a cow/farm transporter then all their sins are forgiven. The other sets sound promising too. An US style Fire station would be a nice addition. The only thing that keeps me wondering is the park. What can be so attractive about it that Lego decided to make one? -
As a minifig GWP truck this would've been a dream come true, because I'm really doubtful that City will get ever vintage vehicles (no matter if it's for a farm subtheme or old police cars). However at this scale I find the proportions of the driver's cabin really odd; the roof seems too thick in relation to the windshield. This disturbs the whole appearance for me greatly.

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
brimbolet replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Now THAT would be a cool set to have, one of my favorite fragments from the book. Good luck! Since there is one month still left, perhaps Lego will allow additional customers to buy the set. Who knows? What really intrigues me, is the reason for rejecting the hideout in the first place. And also why the current creator castle is a retailer exclusive (without any discounts probably). Seems to me that Lego wants to keep the popularity among the kids/parents at a minimum on purpose...- 532 replies

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
brimbolet replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Since we're practically making a wish list, I'd like to see a mould of a walking bird e.g. stork. It could also be repainted and reused to represent a crane or heron, so it could fit into North American, European, African and Asian settings. -

Shame that the current tractor has a rabbit instead of a pig. Can`t even buy one through B&P as far as I know. -
Can't find the right topic but the summer holidays are just about to start and I was wondering if there are any news about the Sailing Ship Adventure from the Lego Ideas contest? https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/92cc4e64-35e1-48aa-a991-2c4ef1aaea12?challenge_phase=4fe193f7-fd07-406a-9ed6-b2438ab90652&query=&sort=top
