You might want to find an hosting site for those photos, as Eurobricks doesn't have the space to host them. (that's why the limit is so small) Otherwise, cool MOC!

I just finished all the real world pictures and added them to the first post. Sorry for the long wait, I hope it was worth it!

"Oh, the Humanity!" To paraphrase Obi Wan Kenobi: "I sensed something: As if millions of purists cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened." I bet the price of sand red 1x2 plates with handle is gonna skyrocket, once people selling them see what you're doing with them.

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
1. West - because the campy 60's stuff is never gonna die! (and I mean that in a good way) If only they had continued with their plans for William Shatner as Harvey Dent / Two Face in the cancelled final season! (it actually was done as an animated feature before West died.) 2. Keaton - the first serious take on Batman. I gotta give credit where it's due! 3. Bale - Love the "powerless", realistic universe he resides in. 4. Pattinson - early Batman. 'Nuff said. 5. Kilman - Batman Forever wasn't that bad, was it? (It could have been better if they kept Two Face's actor the same, IMO...) 6. Affleck - Not a fan of BvS, but it is our first live-action Superman crossover film! 7. Clooney - I can think of no redeeming qualities about this film. Zip. Nada. Nothing. Watching it makes my blood run cold. () -

"Sometimes, late at night, you can hear the whistle wail with a spooky, screechy sound like a wheel gone off the rail; and up in the smoky clouds, you can almost recognize the ghost of a crazy engineer with fiery cinder eyes; I say, Whoo-whoo! Can't you hear the haunted train? Whoo-whoo! Waiting on a haunted train I'm gonna, crash that engine, you know, only sticks and stones and old conductors' bones remain..." This steam loco was from the first animated train cartoon I ever saw when I was very small (three years old, from what I'm told), and is one of my favorites, easily beating The Brave Engineer (1950's Disney cartoon) and only being bested by The Polar Express film! I got the basic looks for the model from a single screenshot of the 1990's Nickelodeon cartoon show "Hey Arnold!". The engine seem to be based on Norfolk and Western K-1 class 4-8-2, but is apparently owned by Great Northern as evidenced by the tender writing. You can read more about the haunted engine, it's known story, and even potential theories for why it crashed here on the Arnold wiki. (yes, that's a thing, and credit to Paul Welch on Flickr for bringing this info to my attention.) The following text is from the wiki page for the episode: "As shown in the episode of the same name (Haunted Train), the legend concerns the phantom locomotive, Old Engine 25. Forty years ago (from original broadcast date, so November 1956), during a movement from the train yard to Union Station, Engine 25's engineer suddenly went insane. Defying signals and warnings to slow down, he intentionally derailed the engine and its train which slid down a high embankment. However, no wreckage was found beyond the engineer's severed hand, still clutching a part of Engine 25's throttle. According to the legend, the engineer drove the train straight to the fiery underworld, and now once a year on the anniversary of the engine's derailment, returns aboard Engine 25 with the intent of collecting new passengers to return to the underworld with him." There is even a song used over the closing credits of the episode, sung by the ghostly crazed engineer who drove his train all the way to hell (see first portion of post for that song!) And yes, I know a steam engine is not a entire train... it may partially make up a train, but it itself is not a train. The front of the ghostly locomotive. The engine's boiler is a highly modified version of one seen on this Rebrickable MOC by @Plastic_Goth (only the boiler is partially reused, I designed everything else myself). The rear of the engine. Inside of the engine's cab. The baggage car. Three coaches. The observation-lounge car. Yeah, I know the engine from the Hey Arnold! cartoon episode 'Haunted Train ' only had a ghost engineer. But I thought a ghostly conductor would be a good addition, and I just couldn't resist. You will note the loco's fireman is not present here; he must've jumped off just before the wreck and survived, so he isn't a ghost. (some fan theory's say Arnold's grandpa was the fireman, as he did work for the railroad and saw first hand what happened during the wreck) ...Would you look at that! It's the anniversary tonight of the wreck! Won't you go on a lovely train ride with me? Thoughts welcome! UPDATE 1/3/25: Whole post updated with pictures of the train, including the new passenger cars!

That... doesn't make any sense. You okay?

Great movie, and a fantastic theme song too. This last 2/3's of the song from that film rings true for TLG and it's current pessimistic outlook / dreams of better days long gone applies to trains as well: "All the burning bridges that have fallen after meAll the lonely feelings and the burning memoriesEveryone i left behind each time i closed the doorBurning bridges lost forevermoreYears have passed and i keep thinkingWhat a fool i've beenI look back into the past andThink of way back thenI know that i lost everything i thought i that could winI guess i should have listened to my friendsAll the burning bridges that have fallen after meAll the lonely feelings and the burning memoriesEveryone I left behind each time i closed the doorBurning bridges lost forevermore"

[REVIEW] 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter
Murdoch17 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Needs a model of Jango Fett's starship / Slave I to fight against! Which, unlike the Delta 7, has never gotten a re-release. But, it's nothing to lose your head over () as I'm sure they will make one someday... -
"Atlantis - the Lost Empire" back-to-back with the sequel "Atlantis - Milo's Return" (man... we should've gotten the TV show they were working on. From what the writers said, it would've had a Gargoyles crossover! Apparently a live action version of the original film is also in the works, according to Wikipedia.)

I love it! Reminds me soo much of the 12v-era prototype crocodile in brown that was later heavily revised in the 9v era in red. It even had brown 3-long doors! (NOT my picture!) Kudos to you on an awesome MOC design!

The remaining parts for this vessel (that I didn't already have) have been ordered as of yesterday. This is my second SHIP and comes in at under $80 dollars for everything. (not including S&H) What you see is (almost) everything that was ordered.- 6 replies

CC means "Cursed Child". The theatre play / book set after the 7th HP novel, is about Harry's children and involves time travel. -
Do you tend to stick to your nationality?
Murdoch17 replied to LordsofMedieval's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I bet every railroad has a fan somewhere where it doesn't even come close to running. There may be Union Pacific steam lovers in Australia, fans of British Railway electrics in the UAE, and Ukrainian diesel fanatics in South Africa. (There are arguably no Monorail fans in Springfield, USA, however. ) Just because you like something that some other place has, doesn't automatically mean appropriation: it can mean appreciation as long as it is done in a kind way. Basically, build whatever you like, we don't judge here. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I think the sellers who charged certifiably insane prices for purple crash helmets / Knights Kingdom II Danju figs are laughing all the way to the bank with this reveal. However, I cringe for the thought of the after market prices that the purple airtanks will bring. In fact, I feel as though thousands of piggy-banks cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. -

1920's Birney Safety Car - heavy 10308 MOD - real world MOC model
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thank you, I agree with you on the styling. They don't make them like that anymore! Thanks! I actually think the one you pictured looks closer to the LEGO model than the Birney-type does. Do you know what they were called or who made those? Thank you! Thanks! Also, a hearty thank you to whoever front-paged the MOC!- 9 replies

Compared to the San Francisco cable car in set 10308 - Holiday Main Street, my model of a classic Birney Safety Car (link to wikipedia article on the type of streetcar) has a different, more accurate roof, complete with a trolley pole at each end. The word "Hogsmeade" is on the destination boards at either end, as I'm pretending that's the name of a street in my town. (I have a ton of those printed 1x4 tiles from nearly 20 years back and I couldn't think of another use for them.) All the changes to the car body mean most of the interior was scrapped as it was too cramped for figures to sit, with only the motorman controls remaining. (Note to the Moderator's: I know I have older, second thread for this model type. However, that one is structured in a way for the LDD file to be given away, whereas this one is just for the real model only. Please DON'T combine them, as it will only be confusing. Thank you for understanding!) Thoughts?

Pioneer-74 deep space explorer - 60227 / 60349 inspired MOC
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks for stopping by @Horlack Bricks, your models are awesome! I gave you a follow over on Flickr as well. Small update: the crew of the ship Pioneer-74: Led by enigmatic eccentric Dr. Victor Strangebuild, the crew of Pioneer-74 is on a long-running quest to document the mysteries of deep space. Their goal is to explore unknown worlds, encounter fantastic creatures, and meet brand-new civilizations. Thus, they boldly venture forth into the great final frontier, never looking back towards home. THIS IS THE STORY OF PIONEER-74! *cue music* (NOTE: two figures are missing from the above picture... and it seems one of the finished ones has to get his head in the game as well!)- 6 replies

I added another solar-arm section and a new nose made from an airplane fuselage instead of the small shuttlecraft I had there before. The spacecraft is now over 100 studs long, and thus is now a SHIP. Thoughts?- 6 replies

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion

This is very much off topic... However, Bricklink or Brickowl are best for selling Lego. Ebay / Craigslist / FB marketplace / local sites aren't even in the same league as those two LEGO-only sites.
