Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
You forgot the TV show exists, and the show has been referenced in the 4th film with the line about "riding with Pancho Vila"! It has loads of potential, but sadly isn't streaming... anywhere. (Maybe Disney is going to re-release it when the film comes out? One can only hope!) -
I don't think a Pet Cemetery is a good idea to make, as the pets might not stay dead... Then again, a zombie apocalypse might just put some new life into Heartlake City!

@Karalora A second-hand clothes shop (think Goodwill or Salvation Army) , with pants and shirts could go in the windows where the toys were, for example. A hat shop is another idea, with the space upstairs being the hatters little workshop. Other than that, maybe 'Scrooge & Marley' moneylending office, from "A Christmas Carol"? Scrooge's office would be upstairs, with Bob Cratchit dutifully toiling away downstairs on an adding machine. (the cash register designs from some WV sets would work nicely for this!)

Parsing Issue
Murdoch17 replied to Krishna Urs's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@Krishna Urs The program Studio is made by Bricklink. You should probably ask the question over there in the Studio help section (either in the forum they have or ask the help desk), as there is almost nothing we can do to help you here, especially with the very little info you've given us. (There could be any number of reasons why it's doing this) Maybe this forum's MOD @Calabar has some better ideas, but I've got nothing more I can think of. Also, just so you know, asking the same question three times in three separate places is generally considered not good forum etiquette... -
@Killian Dear god, that has to be the ugliest clone brand set I've ever seen. I don't think it's own mother could love it. The cartoon picture in the lower left makes me the of a cross between Planet of the Apes, Journey to the West, and the Coneheads from SNL. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go clean my eyeballs with bleach...

[MOC] Nod to the Old Octan Tow Truck
Murdoch17 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Town
I mouse over it, and yes, It appears to be as you describe. I also have an adblocker, so you're probably correct. -
Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

I see this shield (and the fig it belongs to) and my mind right away goes to World of Warcraft's orcs and the faction they help lead's (The Horde) symbol. Makes me wonder why we haven't seen anything like that before, or why WoW LEGO isn't a thing. Oh wait, Kreo (I think?) had the license last, and oh yeah, the game is made by Blizzard and both it and WoW have gone REALLY downhill from what my research tells me. (It's more toxic than Chernobyl circa 1986 and nobody in their right mind is gonna touch it.) Basically, my point is if it's not happening in any official capacity (I.E an actual license), maybe we could consider this an *wink and a nod*-type homage? -
[MOC] Nod to the Old Octan Tow Truck
Murdoch17 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Town
I cleared my cache and it's still not working. (I'm using google chrome, on a PC running windows, in case anyone else is having this issue!) Very strange... -

Not sure why, but I can't see any of your pictures... -
Forums, in general, are sadly in decline due to social media taking it's place. EB is (as far as I know) the most used and most recognized.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Ok, so don't try to change arms, hands, or hips on the brown astronaut.. (which you really shouldn't do anyway, but people will still do it...) Thanks for advice! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Does ALL the colors include retired ones? I need sand red, sand purple, and Maersk blue astronauts yesterday! Why, you ask? Who NEEDS a reason when we are talking about Classic Spacemen?!? -

If we get anything from UP, I want the zeppelin. House is cool, but the Zeppelin is cooler, IMO. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
If it's brown, it's bound to be brittle. (Yes, I heard they fixed it. No, I don't believe them.) If it's not that, it's "50 shades of Dark Red". I'll take the walkie-talkie (and maybe the space baby), but I won't be buying the actual spaceman figure. -

I have four famous words for everyone: "Let them eat Cake!" (I wonder when we'll see our first guillotine MOC... C'mon, you know it's BOUND to happen. It's a mathematical certainty! ) -
Yesterday I watched the film "The Sting". (the fantastic early 1970's original, not the '80's sequel with 0% on Rotten Tomatoes!)

Currently tuned into the SiriusXM "60's gold" radio station which is playing Elvis Presley "I feel so bad", which has got a real driving beat, almost like a steam loco rolling down the rails. It's ironic, because I'm working on a steam loco model at the same time!

"289 parts to find in the bin, 289 parts, Take one out, stow it away, 288 parts left to find in the bin..." The above ditty is to the tune of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall", and I think we can all relate to it. The 289 parts are exactly how many parts are left to find for this train MOC. (This picture showcases the older version of the model, but rest assured - all two of the needed parts for the changeover from 2-8-4 to 4-8-2 have already been found.)

Once an hour for batteries?!? Not exactly a good sign... might be exactly what @Toastie and @jus1973 are talking about, as something is surely wrong here!

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Except for the '66 Batman movie. A "WWII surplus submarine" (as stated in the film) that is just a redressed U-boat firing the Riddler's sky-writing ICBM's? My suspension of disbelief not only went out the window, it went down the street, and is currently living in a different state under an assumed name to avoid me. -
Pictures updated! New MOC... ...and old. Thoughts on this change?

Main post edited 11/19/22: More info added, and wheel arrangement corrected from 2-8-4 to 4-8-2. The engine seem to be based on Norfolk and Western K-1 class 4-8-2, but is apparently owned by Great Northern as evidenced by the tender writing. You can read more about the haunted engine, it's known story, and even potential theories for why it crashed here on the Arnold wiki. (yes, that's a thing, and credit to Paul Welch on Flickr for bringing this info to my attention.) The pictures updated are as well as of now. (And yes, I know the first dome should be bigger to match the K-1, but I've already found a whole bunch of parts and don't want to change it again.)

Thanks @Darkkostas25! 7 wide is pretty tricky to build in, that's for sure. And yes, the hoses are indeed a pain in the butt to get to align in LDD: same goes for real life too! Side note: I've just been informed on Flickr that the engine is actually a 4-8-2 (Mountain), not a 2-8-4 (Berkshire), and is apparently owned by Great Northern RR. I've made the changes to the loco, adding only four parts and subtracting just one! I'm waiting to change the photos until I build it.
