There was some discussion about Gamora's sword. Could it be this?

Does this story come before the destruction of Xandar or after? If it comes before, the Nova Corps are the official peacekeepers, and the GOTG are a renegade force. I'm not familiar with the current version, but the original team were considered renegades before they proved themselves a force for good. It is a good that this team has to prove themselves good guys as well. The Sakaarans and Ronan the Accuser are the actual villains.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I have made my Bricklink order for the rare in the US Duplo Egg parts. I am still waiting on the invoice, but soon I will have the Egg of the Goddess. Next month I will make my next Shop@Home order. As soon as I have all the parts, I will begin the Nestlands Clans Quest for the Egg saga. That doesn't mean I won't be building for Sultan's Gate. Moss of my tan parts will go to that. -

The printing on the small wall pieces looks different to me. I see no rivets.

The castle looks like it uses the same piece and printing from the Juniors Pony Farm. It isn't available on the site yet, even though all the others are. The battle packs are available now, though. When it does become available, I will probably get a couple of these. I have uses for those parts.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Sea Cow is now available to VIPs. I'll take a pass on it, though. 250 USD for an overly detailed ship that would have to be reengineered to be useful in any other theme? Puh-lease! I'm hoping that the Uni Kitty tail piece gets used in some future sets down the line. It would make an interesting detail piece on some modular building, or something.- 2,626 replies

The ice trap pieces seem to be in only those two sets. How did I miss that flame piece? Wonderful. Now if it would only come in one of the green colors. The eagle set display appears to be missing a piece from the beak. Look at the box in the wider shot. I actually used a modified version of that beak design for an upcoming GOH build.

Going over the Summer wave again two sets have a new part. The second one might even have two new parts. http://news.toyark.c...O-Chima-033.jpg http://news.toyark.c...O-Chima-034.jpg

On the cover of the Days of Future Past comic this set is based upon, Storm isn't wearing her tiara. For this story, she is accurate.

In one of the images there appears to be a hinged rock that also uses a rubber band. http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2014/02/Toy-Fair-2014-LEGO-Chima-024.jpg

Major Victory (who wasn't officially called this until issue 20) is part of the aborted 31st century timeline. In the current Marvel universe, Vance Astrovik did not make his deep space voyage in suspended animation that lasted for a thousand years. He became a hero on earth thanks to that other future self. I don't know how Yondu fits into the current GOTG as he began as a primitive alien warrior who met Astronaut Astrovik. They then joined the space adventurers that would become the rest of the GOTG. Charlie 27 was the original leader. If Lego would make the robe from the CMF Judge and Graduate in dark blue, a purist Major Victory custom could be built. As I don't really want many of the Superheros figs for the characters themselves, I will refrain from commenting on how they are portrayed in the sets, good or bad. I see lots of things here I want for parts.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Q 1: No. All you have to have is some variation of your chosen guild's flag: Mitgardia is green and yellow, Avalonia is dark green and sand green, Kaliphlin is dark blue and red, Nocturnus is red and gold or black and white for the usurpers (see Book II Challenge 1). They can be any type of flag, even brick built. Q 2: You need to choose one fig as your sig fig, but you can have secondary and tertiary characters. Many have groups ranging from small bands to large armies. You don't have to limit yourself to TLG Castle figs for characters. There are fig parts from quite a few themes usable here in Historica. Get creative. -

UoP DoH +1 for both claims. The bird flying away captures the FP well enough, but it could be better. To improve the FP you could have tilted the 'sky' background so that the bottom was farther away (with more water), and raised the angle of the shot a little higher.

Wonderful build. Is the front of the boat modeled after a Greek trireme?

About cultural insensitivity, Lego did something similar with the native peoples of both North and South America. Western, Pirates and Adventurers were at minimum cliches. A Chinese Castle theme would be easy to produce, given that there are several recent molds that have come out of Ninjago and some licensed themes that would fit this theme. I do believe we will probably have to wait until Ninjago runs its course before we see another Asian castle theme (remember Ninja).

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

It won't be long before I have enough builds for Cobalt Vale to be recognized. How/where do we identify existing MOC threads for this challenge? -
I will be getting this set for those large pieces, and I might actually keep the 60's tv show looking Batman together for the nostalgia. I don't like the printing on the large back piece, but that is easily remedied. I may need to look at the other Juniors sets to see what type of part goes into the notches in the archway. I really like that floor piece printing. It will make for some good castle MOCing. I may have to get the Juniors police set too, for more of that part. I believe that there was a display of enemies' costumes in the batcave in the Batman Beyond tv series. I don't remember if Joker was represented, but the Riddler was. I remember that bowler hat.

AoM Archery Phase 1 - Hunting the fearsome swamp chicken

Finally, the Prophecy of the Chickens has come to pass. Fools that eat the flesh of birds will be feasted upon in kind. -
Yes, the new arms (which are overmolded not painted) would have finished Spongebob off nicely. I hope the Spongebob sets/parts resale market doesn't go roof, now that it is officially a dead theme. I still want to get some of the fish heads and Mrs. Puff to use for other things.

Yes, I've heard about that. The US Lego site has all but one Spongebob set listed as retired, and the remaining set was on sale. It is now sold out. Hopefully Lego can repurpose at least some of the molds designed for this line. I've used the Patrick head in LDD as a type of plant. Spongebob's head piece could also service as a topiary bush. The Sandy and Squidward molds, though are likely to specialized.
