  1. I have no problem with using both. All Lego skin tones exist in Historica. I depict the Nestlands Clans in light flesh, but have used other colors to represent other peoples. I just avoid using mismatched torsos and heads. With certain neckwear, though, you can get around that.
  2. I was at my local TRU today. In searching for Wildstyle and Shakespeare I came across: 3 Lord Business, 3 Taco Tuesday, 6 Emit (one I handed to a child that wanted one), 2 Calamity Drone, 2 Velma Staplebot, 2 Gail, 1 Where's My Pants, 2 Abraham Lincoln, and 2 Panda. There were a bunch more, but I found what I wanted. Paid $4 apiece. I hate the TRU mark-up, but the only other store that carries them is on the opposite side of town.
  3. As I only buy specific CMFs in store, or as filler online to get free shipping on a large order, the jump in price isn't such a bother. I spent twenty minutes today at TRU looking for Wildstyle and Shakespeare, and paid $4 for each. Target is where I usually buy (no mark-up), but I was in the area.
  4. What about a representation of Yggdrasil as a standard?
  5. If you're wondering what variation Maggie could have, I've seen her dressed up for church. As for what she would have as an accessory, her Bobo bear. A small teddy like the LM CMF Panda, but in dark brown.
  6. I was at my local TRU today, and helped a mom out with a DC purchase. Her boy, maybe five years old, wanted a Batman set with Joker and Robin, and had found the $60 set. I showed her where the Juniors Batman set was for $30. From what I saw of all the March releases, only the Mixels had in-store mark-up. No Steamroller set, though. (Even the US Lego site has it on backorder.)
  7. UoP DoH +1 on both claims.
  8. IIRC, the Spider Buggy was never Peter's idea. A car company created it and offered it to him for a promotional deal. I don't think Peter ever got the hang of driving it. It was intended to be ridiculous, but the toys created from the design sold so Marvel kept it. Now we have other ridiculous Spider-man vehicles.
  9. He's in the upcoming Friends Jungle set, but this time he is part purple. Link to pic.
  10. My build time was severely curtailed this week. I did get an Anticlimax plot point build nearly done today, but it is a later part of the story. Anticlimax: Nestlands Market is taking longer than expected. I have all the figs done, but I still need to build several marketplace stalls and set up a bunch of flags. The diagonal portions got a little tricky. I will probably save the Mitgardian magical cooling device for some later build. I also have something large built for the interior of Bloodmane's Embassy Office in Nocturnus, but that will have to wait. I still want to know who controls Nocturnus before he is officially appointed.
  11. Well done. UoP DoH +1 for all credits.
  12. Given that the very realistic Vikings tv series on the History Channel is beginning its second season, Lego should strike with a theme while the iron is hot.
  13. Nice comeback build. +1 on all credits.
  14. To all that discussion about the various Batgirls: I remind you of Barbara Wilson, niece of Alfred Pennyworth, in the Batman & Robin movie. Big departure from the DC universe, but she is one to consider.
  15. UoP DoH +1 for all credits.
  16. If the planet never rotates, you don't get day/night. I rather think the axis is tilted farther. The northern hemisphere would be colder, the equator would be temperate, and the southern hemisphere would be warmer. Avalonia and Nocturnus would lie on the equator. I also think of Historica as slightly larger than Australia, and Varlyrio is about a the size of Greenland.
  17. It is a pity that Lego didn't get the TMNT license during the previous incarnation, because at the end of that version there was a throwback storyline. The turtles of that series dimension jumped through previous versions all the way back to the old black and white 'comics'. The story poked a lot of fun at the first cartoon turtles. The current Nickelodeon version is actually more 'cartoony' than the previous one.
  18. I had five items in my bag on the site that got removed because of this. I'm just glad that the Chi Eris is still available, as I need that for an upcoming build. All the sets listed as Sold Out are ones that had been listed with Feb. 17th release. This applied to the Mixles as well. Hopefully everything will be back in stock next week.
  19. Actually, the square guard long blade is called a shamshir. This and this are katanas. I'm with you here. An easy way for lego to make little Groot is a printed version of the minifigure statuette, like the voodoo doll Jack Sparrow. My only real want for the actual character is Yondu. If he isn't in the small set, I likely will pass on most of these sets, and just Bricklink the parts I want for other things. That is my favorite of the Batman movies. Mainly for the fact that we got a truly insane Catwoman and the very disgusting Penguin. Those two haven't been characterized so well since.
  20. The image shown had Series 13 on it. It has already been reported that Series 12 is slated for an October release. Some reports have said that before we get Series 12, there will be a CMF MMORPG in September. Much of this was reported back in December and January in this thread. The Simpsons CMF is slated for a May release, likely to coincide with the Simpsons Lego Special episode.
  21. On the issue of Gamora's sword, looks like it is the Lego shamshir as it looks to have the square guard. The regular katana has an octagonal guard. Rocket Raccoon's little vehicle seems to have the dish with a marbled pattern, as the color isn't uniformly distributed.
  22. Looks like the five point palm leaf might be coming in trans or light blue. Big hopes.
  23. That image is not the Simpsons, but the future non-licensed CMF series. From what has been reported, the Lego Movie CMFs and the Simpsons CMFs do not have the CMF series number. They are separate lines done in the same format.
  24. On the issue of Superheros (and Villains) diversity, here is a list of some figs Marvel names Lego could add. Blade (has he been in the USM cartoon yet?), Scorpion (he is latino in the Marvel Ultimate comics universe), Bishop (already suggested), Warpath (Native American), Forge (Native American), Black Panther (T'challa should come with a version of Storm), Silver Samurai (Japanese, fighting a non-suited Wolverine), and Namor (who's features are predominantly Asian). There are several females that would qualify for this list, but I don't quite remember their names at the moment. On the DC side, I haven't kept up with the comic characters. There are a couple of characters from Batman Beyond, but I can't remember their names at the moment. When the Batman/Superman movie comes out we could get an African American Perry White (Laurence Fishburne is reprising his role).
