  1. After the Revolword War Aturl Prndrn, Nestlands Clans Minister of External Affairs, spent several months at the University of Petraea. He spent much of his time helping to get recorded the Nestlands Clans part in the war effort. Among the fallen were Captain of the Ghuin Nol High Guard Hugh Hos and High Guard Pikeman Leiym Koll. Their armor, uniforms and weapons were cleaned, repaired and set for display in the University Library, along with scrolls detailing their heroism at the Battle of Queenscross. "Beautiful," exclaimed the Minister, "A fine setting for their investiture, Professor. My compliments to your preservationists, their uniforms don't even look damaged." "Thank you, Minister," replied Professor Illam Shiek'spar, "Is there anything you would like added to the scrolls. Their final resting place, perhaps." "Aaah . . ." the Minister considered, "Just add that their bodies were offered in the Bird Ceremony, the highest honor a fallen Nestlands warrior can receive." ------------------------------ I would like to claim the UoP DoH credit General Building: interior design.
  2. Something to consider; the standard conical helmet would not be too off the mark it it were made in dark brown with a chainmail printing on the neck guard section. As to the set idea, how are the fishermen supposed to fish? I see no net or spears.
  3. I haven't shared any images from Flickr since the new system went into place. Took me a while to find out the Push Pin icon in the images sharing is what we need for BBCode. Just be sure the image size you select is under 600x800. Just to remind people, this is where the Nestlands Clans are located. Everlast is located somewhere north of Qakyr, but the exact location is a secret. Contacting the EB staff is best one by PM. Guilds of Historica displays have been at a few conventions.
  4. UoP DoH +1 for both claims.
  5. UoP DoH +1 for both claims.
  6. Welcome new Kaliphlin. Right now we have a couple things going on: For Kaliphlin members we have the Sultan's Gate Community Build. The Main Gate portion of the contest will be ending on March 31st, but the rest of the community challenge still has quite some time left. There are also prizes. For the whole of GOH there are The Great Mitgardia/Kaliphlin Naval Arms Race (prize challenge) and The University of Petraea's Doctorate of Historica Program (advancing building techniques). As for how to post pictures, most members host their images at sites like Flickr or Brickshelf.
  7. I'm here everyday, but don't often respond until I have something important or interesting to say. I don't even bother with LLC, and have rarely visited CC since I joined EB. My important news is that I will be abandoning my Anticlimax storyline. Too much time has passed from the Revolword saga, and for the storyline to work I would need to build another three MOCs more than I have currently in production. I just don't have the time. I will be reworking my existing builds for a more current storyline. I still plan to use Kaïn Revolword in one of my storylines, with Ecclesiastes' permission. Other news; I did finish the bird form of the Armored Eagle Goddess. I have the large Duplo Egg, and hopefully will be able to launch the Quest for the Egg saga next week.
  8. The movie is a Nickelodeon Movies production.
  9. I have a very specific use for Apu's body. Krusty's recolored pie is a must have. A few others for parts. I have no interest in the Simpsons as a theme, but I don't really build for any existing IP. I have no problem with this being a theme, as the multi-generational popularity of the show makes it likely that Lego will pursue it further. Every new theme brings with it new parts and designs that can be repurposed.
  10. If the theme continues we'll likely get her, but she would probably be in a single set in her usual attire. If Lego will give us dead but important characters, I'd like to see "Bleeding Gums" Murphy.
  11. Wonderful lead in. One note though, the word 'vile' is the incorrect spelling for your meaning. You want 'vial'. Homonyms can sometimes be tricky.
  12. I'm just hoping none of the pieces were damaged in that stunt. It is quite correct to take a build apart at the end of its usefulness, but you shouldn't chance breaking the actual Lego. Those palm leaves in particular are quite easy to warp. Loved the build, and hopefully we'll see more GOH builds from you two in the future.
  13. Does Universal own the merchandising rights as well, like Fox has for FF and X-Men? It has already been mentioned in this thread that Spider-man has reverted back to Marvel for ASM2, and they partnered with Columbia Pictures to do the movie. Sony gets to distribute much of the international theatrical release, though.
  14. Infinity Gauntlet, that also features Tony Stark in the Illuminati scenes. He founded the group, though I believe it was Mr. Fantastic that began collecting the Infinity Gems.
  15. During Civil War Tony Stark heads up Shield at one point, when Nick Fury is believed to be dead. This is after the M-Day, so it may be some time till the movies get there.
  16. The Hopeful Endeavor would be a good name.
  17. Someone mentioned Doctor Strange. He would be rather easy to do. High collared style cape with golden edge printing, medal piece from the CMF swimmer with Eye of Agamotto printing, black swooped back hair with white on the sides, mustachioed face, tunic printing, and black pants. But what set should he be in? Should he be facing Dormammu, Dracula, Mordo or Nightmare? Could he be in a set with the other members of the Illuminati? The others being Professor X, Namor, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt and Iron Man. That could be against a World War Hulk version of Hulk. All speculation, though. Superheroes being evergreen means we may get him at some point. Gotham PD and The Daily Planet are other sets that should be explored. Give TLG time.
  18. Ah, Drizzt Do'urden. I can still remember picking up a first ed. of The Crystal Shard. That book got me into Forgotten Realms, and cemented my interest in fantasy realms. It's why I'm here today.
  19. We are getting the movie Splinter with short legs. We've already seen him in leaked images from Toy Fair. Casey is important, but I doubt we'll see an official Lego version of him before October. I haven't kept up with the show, so I don't know how he looks. The only Casey Jones look I liked from the previous incarnations I saw was from the first movie. I might look for a custom of him. He and Tatsu are the ones I want from the original movies. "I'll never call golf a dull game again."
  20. As it has been stated before, Disney Princesses is a separate brand, and as a result requires a separate license. There are certain requirements set by Disney that a character has to meet to be included in the Disney Princesses line. Also any toys based on this line have to meet certain criteria. Now if Maleficent becomes a major hit, it is possible we will see a Disney Villains line some time in the future. This possibility is slim, but there. As to the marketing and shelving of Lego: I have seen different strategies. I won't bother to go into details, though, as this discussion deserves its own thread. If there isn't one already in the LEGO General Discussion and News forum I'd be surprised, as that is where this discussion belongs.
  21. I regularly use flesh-toned figs with my yellows. The Lego universe can handle different colored figs. Just don't use torsos with neck printing that doesn't match the color head.
  22. I doubt we'll see any sets even loosely based on Arrow and the upcoming Flash. There seems to be a licensing snarl, like with Fox and the X-Men/Wolverine movies. If there isn't, the other proposed idea that target demographics come into play has some merit. It could even be a combination of the two. If neither of these were an impediment then we should have seen Green Arrow sets by now, given there is an existing audience. Or at least a set based on an existing Green Arrow comic storyline mirrored by an Arrow episode. Can anyone tell me how close the show comes to the source material?
  23. Okay, accepted. But the fig is from the cartoon, which is Earth-1610.
  24. The Sam Alexander and Richard Rider Nova characters are from different Marvel universes. Sam is in the Ultimate universe (Earth 1610) and Richard is in the original Marvel universe (Earth-616).
  25. The fact that Marvel is now owned by Disney may have something to do with the disparity. There was also some discussion that DC gave up a lot of licensing rights to WB. I don't know how much of that is true. I actually enjoyed the Man of Steel take on Superman, even though I waited until it became available on DVD at my local library. All the movies (and the show Smallville) up till now have stressed the Clark Kent American upbringing. Often his origins as Kal-El were very distant, and sometimes at odds with how he was raised. His Earth story was widely known, but the Krypton story hasn't been. We also get an explanation of how a society that has the capabilities of interstellar and interdimensional travel can be destroyed by the death of their homeworld. Since I haven't followed DC comics over the years, I don't know if they ever explained that little wrinkle in the story. I eagerly await the next movie in this storyline, and the Lego sets we should get from it. On the Nova Corps in GOTG: from what I understand of the storyline, this is before the destruction of Xandar. Thus before Richard Rider. The fig we got was from the USM cartoon, which is the tv version of the Marvel Ultimate universe (Earth-1610) not the prime Marvel universe (Earth-616).
