  1. It is possible that the release date was moved up, but more likely is that April 21st is when Amazon is projected to have them in stock. Retailers have been known to have new Lego sets in stock well ahead of the official release date. It is only a matter of ten days that we're talking about here, or thirteen if Lego was planning on waiting until the air date of the episode.
  2. Given that the Simpsons Lego episode is debuting on May 4th, and in the CMF discussions have the Simpsons CMF series as May release, we'll probably see pictures some time in April. We'll probably see tv promos at the end of April.
  3. Given the spread of DC at the moment, to get Green Arrow in a set with a better known they should go with Superman. Batman and Green Arrow fill the same kind of role. Who would be a good villain for a Watchtower Invasion set? Make it a $50 set like the Marvel AIM set; with Hawkman (doable with Chima parts), Green Arrow (existing but unavailable), Superman (two versions exist), and two attacking villains.
  4. Let's get something straight. Michael Bay is not the Director, he is a Producer on this film. The Director is Jonathan Liebesman. This is also a Nickelodeon Movies production. From the images of the movie sets we know that Splinter will be short. That's because he is being played by Danny Woodburn. If you don't know him by name, look him up. You'll recognize him.
  5. When it comes to Green Arrow in media, he was a major character on the later seasons of Smallville. It still airs early in the morning on TNT. That's the channel I watch Supernatural as well: I don't waste time with CW. From the little I've seen, the dialogue makes me think it's like a teen oriented soap opera. I don't think we'll see any WB produced tv DC in Lego. I'm pretty certain they own the merchandising rights. If DC owned any of those rights I would have preferred the Smallville versions, especially the Blur version of Superman. On the issue of Taskmaster, like others I am disappointed by the shield, but am happy to see him. He had a great run in the Avengers during Dark Reign, and still gets some comic play since. About young kids and comics, there are always public libraries. My local library has a plethora of comics and graphic novel collections. The small Marvel Adventures books are kept on the J Fiction shelves. The periodical comics have their own section.
  6. Neither GG or Rhino were ever part of the Sinister Six, but Hobgoblin and Electro were. The Sinister Syndicate, inspired by that group, did include Rhino. The Sinister Six had a rotating group of members. This is according to the 2009 ed of The Marvel Encyclopedia. I'll be hoping for Mysterio, Vulture, Lizard, Doc Ock, Kraven and Hobgoblin.
  7. UoP DoH +1 @Gideon: The impression I am getting is that this is built into a section of the quarry where there had been an existing cave.

  9. Now I know how to do the Nestlands Ambassador to Nocturnus story. I have a few Chima ravens to act as escort. This build is one of four unfinished builds that I have in development.

  11. It has already been discussed that the actress who voices Edna Krabappel passed away. That the character would die isn't a surprize. There have been a couple of deaths in the series: "Bleeding Gums" Murphy and Maude Flanders come to mind. Here's hoping nothing happens to Hank Azaria, the voice actor behind much of the supporting cast. Given the speed at which the site and many Lego stores have sold out of the Simpsons House, I can see the Simpsons getting another go beyond the CMF line. There is much to mine from the show, but it will take time and some more character specific molds. Variation repeats would be quite likely. Mid-priced and higher sets with 2-4 characters would be a logical way to go, or a second CMF line if they have the resources to commit.
  12. UoP DoH +1 for both credits.
  13. UoP DoH +1 on all credits.

  15. To get a torc to look correct, it would have to be a separate piece. Printing would get lost under a cape, and a torc was worn over cloaks. War paint for the gods' protection was used throughout northern Europe before the Roman conquest and supplanting with Roman culture. Most people don't think of the Norse culture as a form of Celtic culture, but it was. The word 'woad' does come from a derivation of Odin. The weekday names Wednesday, Thursday and Friday come from the Norse gods names. A good way to bring back Vikings would be to pit them against the classic Celts. There has already been a CMF Highland Warrior and a CMF Bagpiper, so Celtic parts designs exist.
  16. They might later for the current look of Storm, but for the purposes of making an indirect tie-in to the upcoming movie they used the comic Days of Future Past Storm from The Uncanny X-Men #142. I happen to like that version of Storm. If I get the set, she and Wolverine are two of the few Superheroes figures I would keep as is.
  17. The current crop of Juniors sets now have two new base molds that look like they are wonderful building surfaces. The larger piece is offered with some nice printing. These will be quite a boon to MOC builders, I think. Hopefully we will see the parts used for other themes.
  18. Wonderful designs, ED-209. Though the guy with war paint should have actual Nordic runes and a snarling face. He is supposed to be a berserker, right? I also like the pendant variations. One of them should be wearing a lightning bolt, though. I would also propose that a piece representing a torc be designed. Important Celts and Norsemen alike wore them.
  19. Actually, in the comic that this set is based on that version of Magneto is with the X-Men. The posing of Magneto fighting the X-Men must come from someone not familiar with the story. The sentinals went after all mutants, without distinction. Also, Storm isn't wearing her tiara, nor does she have a mohawk. Try to be aware of where and when in the Marvel prime universe the sets are supposed to be. This is directly from the Days of Future Past comic, since TLG did not have the license to produce DOFP movie sets.
  20. I am suddenly remembering a portion of a show (A&E or History) about a great sword maker named Hermboldt. I'm a little unsure of the spelling of the name, but from what I remember his blades were prized throughout northern Europe. So much so that ancient forgeries were found. These were blades in the classic Viking longsword style. I could just see a set called Hermboldt's Forge. All the swords would be pearl dark gray and pearl light gray swirled to simulate Damascus steel, which his swords are believed to have been made of. The set would be an enclosed forge with something simulating bellows, a somewhat open workshop, Hermboldt himself, a couple of wealthy patrons, and possibly a rugged looking thief. I could see this as a $30 set. Like others, wishful thinking.
  21. UoP DoH +1. Nicely done.
  22. I usually only build a set with TLG's instructions once. This is to see if there is something from the design I want to keep (or recreate with different colors) as part of a MOC. For this I don't bother with the stickers. Occasionally though, there are some stickers that will work for my designs. For these I prefer the clear stickers. Often this is because I want to use a sticker on a different color than intended. I was happy to learn that the sticker for the new Spider Trike is clear for that very reason. Some clear stickers are even reusable if you are careful in removing them.
  23. Has anyone else seen this? Custom sets for donations to help people in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Right now these are only available in the US, but I thought I should share.
  24. Wonderfully swampy. UoP DoH +1 on all claims.
