This video is supremely popular. It took me four tries before it would even play. A little anti-climactic for me. Given the contraction style, Makuta could come with the shells and masks to make both versions. Then Ekimu could come with the forge, or a number of masks he has made.

Yes, cuttlefish have the ability to produce complex color patterns on their skin, but perhaps a more important feature is their neurology. A cuttlefish's neural processing is spread out through its body. In this way the cuttlefish is like a network of computers. Give a large theropod dinosaur the camouflage ability and the brain power to use it, and you are in trouble. Hopefully the sets will live up to the hype.

Kre-O are even worse than Megabloks. How they keep getting licenses is beyond me. I eagerly await the new sets. I am quite hopeful that we'll get sets from the previous movies, because I need a Jeff Goldblum fig.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
gedren_y replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What Artanis was getting at was that the word 'Confederate' may be a mistranslation. I am of the mind that this list is likely bunk, but will wait and see. -
It has already been mentioned that this Pirates is aimed at a slightly younger age bracket than the last version. The same thing happened with Castle: 2013 was aimed at a younger market than Kingdoms. The big Kingdoms set is still available from Lego SaH. This is only speculation, but if there is a second wave of the new Pirates, there may be a Bluecoat ship sometime around the 'holiday season' next year. It might not be as big as the pirates' ship, which would be good IMO. Has Lego ever given us an actual non-enemy merchant vessel? The closest I think they came was the Islanders' Catamaran. Come on, Lego, who are these pirates supposed to be plundering from?

I always thought that Heroica axe was perfectly dwarf sized. -
These sets are officially slated for a January release, which would be after the coronation of new 'princesses'. Disney Princesses has more to do with the character than their title. These characters are portrayed by actresses at the Disney parks, and participate in parades. As the characters are being played by different people in different places, it is the costume that has to be recognizable in the sets. That is likely why Lego was able to get away with not creating movie accurate faces in the current sets.

On the issue of Pohatu; I would prefer Dark Flesh to Reddish Brown, but am okay with Dark Orange. I may get several of him to build a CCBS landscape.

Your builds are always superb. I love the pathway idea. I don't mind the transition. I have a logic that makes better sense than a stone tower built into an old tree. Multiple trees growing around an even more ancient tower, melding together over time. The stone structure would have been pushed inward and upward, so that the original top of the tower would have toppled. The wooden structure would then be a more recent addition.

UoP DoH +1 on both claims. That axe on the ground is also an inspired little creation.

Battle For The Golden Mask Competition: Discussion Thread

Ooh, sweet! I have my build mostly done, with only some minor additions to do. -
All this discussion of the shield and spear make me think of the heroes of the Classical age. Can Kopaka be voiced by Brad Pitt as Achilles? There was some discussion about the some of the images being renders. I am certain that Gali, at least, is not a render. I was surprised a few days ago when I noticed on the white background image, a reflection of what was obviously a lighting set-up on Gali's left foot. That pearl dark gray is nicely reflective when polished for official photos.

Book II Challenge III Dwarven Affairs
gedren_y replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Ooh, I have three little second cousins that may one day be taught by a certifiable Legomaniac. I hope. I hope. Thanks for explaining the subtext some of us may have missed by not being abreast of all the backstory, and its larger implications. -
Spies in Low Places: CHIII Men

Just the title had me smiling. The only song I like on any country radio station, because it barely qualifies as country. The build itself, a superb feat of balance, solid techniques, and a spirited story. That older dwarf must be rather farsighted to miss an open chest, as dwarves are known for their security when it comes to their more 'personal' items. -
Serve well, stay safe if you can, and remember there are good things to come back to.

This is a fair MOC, but it doesn't belong in this forum. It belongs in the Licensed forum.

Don't get me started on the issue of biological/psychological debate with regards to chemical addiction. Just look at the boggle of a debate that has happened already. I doubt there will be any real continuity connection with the old Bionicle, just some easter eggs directed at existing fans. As someone who never bothered with any of the original Bionicle media, I find the clean slate approach most appropriate. The target audience are likely to have little or no experience with the original story. The new Bionicle needs to be able to exist on its own, and draw in new fans by its own merit.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I would have to get more of the 1 width hinge plates to do this, but it would make a great bridge. Or maybe I wouldn't. Looking at the way it's constructed, there's a way one could use tiles to create a handrail. -
Sometimes with the text of an invented language it could be the designers' names using text/symbol replacement. Think the Wingdings settings on Word.

Or just a blue surface to put the set on. The old set makes it look as if the fort is completely on the water, whereas the current version makes it seem as if it begins on land and extends into the water. Though I love the new 'brick' piece in dark red, and will be getting as many as I can, I have never been able to see any Pirates builds with red bricks as the Caribbean islands or the Gulf Coast. I can see them as the Mediterranean or the Barbary Coast. I guess I have just been to the St. Augustine Fort too many times.

From the video review of the parts built Tahu, it is claimed that the mask issue has already fixed for the final production run. It was only the NYCC parts that are supposed to have had the tension problem, which could have been produced well in advance of the event. Edit: I just noticed something. On the Brothers Brick flickr page, looking at the enlarged image of Gali (white background) you can see reflected in the fig's right foot what appears to be the lighting set-up.

I have a nice base built for the Nestlands Embassy in Mitgardia. It has a somewhat modular styling to the sidewalk. -
Spectacular. Even though you don't need it, you've go my +1 for your claims.

UoP DoH +1 I believe one other person did quicksand, but it may have been before the advent of the UoP DoH program.
