  1. Oooh. Persian Mythology! Don't see much of that. Good on ya.
  2. A nice build . . . an even better story. A little history about the tension in between allies.
  3. It's okay, that torso was from Dumbledore in the Harry and the Hungrian Horntail set. Minimum cost in the US for just the torso (no arms) is $3.70. You can put him in something else blue and white. For story purposes, he made his living trading in disguise before entering public service. He may complain about how the builders of the Lost Vega casino are not on schedule. Just to clarify, the Minister isn't my sigfig. Sdair is on the newest incarnation of the Quest for the Egg of the Armored Eagle Goddess. Currently I will be making a parts order for the Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus soon. Part Three of Quest for the Egg (formerly Part Two) has been downsized, and the new Part Two gets to be a nightscape shot that I've been itching to try.
  4. I hope the Nestlands will be well represented. The head and hair of Aturl Prndrn, Nestlands Clans Minister of External Affairs, are quite easy to come by.
  5. I got some major work done on my Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus. The outer wall is nearly complete. I have a corner tower mostly done. I still need to finish the bedrock, as well as the outer and inner facades of the wall. When that's finalized, I will be able to apply it to the baseplates and finish the courtyard layout. My ideas seem to have snowballed again. I am looking at a 64x64 corner of the actual embassy to be represented.
  6. The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo had actual monsters, and Shaggy wore red. There are so many ways Lego could go with this theme, I am pleased that they are beginning with sets reminiscent of the original show. Hopefully the upcoming show will live up to the legacy.
  7. Oooh, with the old fleshie Aunt May head and the CMF Grandma hair I could do a version of Madame Web!
  8. I just found this, and signed up, but am unable to use it. The display screen on the workshop is just giving me digital artifacts. I am using Chrome on an Android 4.4 tablet. Is there something I might be able to do to get it to work?
  9. I don't normally buy the largest set in most themes, but I have to get the whole gang. The figs will get an honored place. The set designs don't matter to me much, as I'll be using the parts for other things. I might get two Mystery Machine sets, though. One to build, and one to part out. It is as much a character in the show as the gang.
  10. Welcome to GoH, ahilson. Bright colors are good for quite a few things. Castles can come in a variety of colors, as well as houses, tents, and carriages. Take the time to look at some of the archived threads for some ideas. The links can be found in the first few posts of the pinned threads.
  11. UoP DoH +1 for the mosaic credit.
  12. The Ideas design is innocuous enough, and doesn't reference TV-14 content. Those who denegrate the show are not likely to buy this product, but there is enough of a following that a set is good business sense. The set itself, not the show, would have to meet Lego standards. Several friends in a living room filled with representations of props from the show (one of which is an actual Lego product) is not likely to be too controverial.
  13. Actually there are two male figures in the current crop of sets. One with brown hair and one with tan hair.
  14. From what I understand about Toy Fair, the products shown are the ones that will be made available to outside vendors. The Hellicarrier isn't likely to be made available outside the website and Lego Stores. We will probably have to wait for Lego to make the release
  15. In the CMF bags swords, guitars, and even tiles sometimes get stuck inside the folded paper insert.
  16. On IMDb, there are two upcoming Scooby-Doo items. One with a 2015 date is Be Cool Scooby-Doo! The other is just titled Scooby-Doo, and is listed as in development. This is possibly the movie people have reported. Therefore we can reasonably deduce that the Lego sets are based off of the show. Given that we are getting standard figs, it doesn't really concern me that the theme is based on a new show. The characters have had mostly the same looks from the outset. The characters in Lego would look pretty much the same if taken from most of the series. The sets themeselves, though, may not have the dark look of the old show Scooby Doo, Where Are You!
  17. The issue with the LR guns was probably a licensing issue, given that the mold was supposed to represent a movie prop. The baldric mold from POTC falls under this, which is why it was only reused in LR (Disney license). I actually like the new design of the bandana. It would probably be best in black, though. I want it in that color quite a bit; for a Dread Pirate Roberts fig.
  18. Had an idea, and got some building done on the redesign of the Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus. It will be part of the exterior wall, the courtyard, and part of the foyer. It will still have the look of something that has been rebuilt multiple times, most recently by Neord Bloodmane, the new Ambassador.
  19. I had an idea yesterday that found its way into bricks today. Since the destruction of my Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus, I haven't had much motivation to build, but today I actually got some work done on the redesign. I may do a small build for Quest for the Egg Part Two that will be more story, as the current design for that build has stalled. I also have the base for my Nestlands Embassy in Mitgardia waiting to be fleshed out. I'm still deciding the particulars for that build.
  20. This build is just about perfect. The sparse landscape is correct. This would probably be located somewhere south of the Oil Road.
  21. Wonderful little story. Nicely executed build. The only thing that had me confused for a moment was the third image. The straight on shot made the dragon look almost like a spider.
  22. In the Scooby-Doo thread there is a list of sets. If we get a horror CMF series, it will likely be a Simpsons THoH line. We know that the lisenced CMFs are not part of the numbered line. Series 14 will likely be a standard mix.
  23. Both are used widely in GOH. The people of the Nestlands Clans of the Armored Eagle Goddess are fleshies.
  24. The best way for Lego to make Scooby is to make him similar to the monkey, with articulating limbs and the ability to be on all fours or standing upright. The monkey is actually close to the size Scooby would have to be, relative to the minifigs. I have always thought the monkey was out of scale, given what it is supposed to represent. Scooby is supposed to be a great dane, and even the Santa's Little Helper mold would be too small.
  25. The figs are Newton, Einstein, and Hawking.
