  1. It would be nice a dragster at a scale 1:10 like, maybe about 35-40cm long, with the 81,6x44 tires from the 76023 set, and with PF, it would be a nice set.
  2. hey Effe, what about something like this but 8x8:
  3. will you throw lego pieces inside of it or you will use something else?, beacuse if you will use "rocks", you could make a trommel-like thing to separate the different size rocks. EDIT: Also, that 42030 seems amazing with those tires.
  4. oh, i didnt thought that, maybe with a exaggerated amount of motors, or a very large gearing down or something like ZBLJs 8x8x8 truck, but it doesnt worth it .
  5. grum64, it is possible, maybe 25 trailers is just a little bit more than i could build, but there must be people with enough pieces (not my case); but the only problem would be if you need to go backwards .
  6. something like this: you only need to put a coil spring between the 2 yellow parts, and in case the coil were to wide, just put a disk-like piece in the lower part.
  7. you can also try to make your own shock absorbers, for example i used the coil springs from a toy, i used an axle with a end stop, an angle piece and a cross block, and then i got very good working shock absorbers
  8. i will make a quick example in ldd some examples (the red axle represents steering and driving): 1) hard: 2) soft: if i am not wrong, i used this system in my marauder some time ago: http://ldd.us.lego.c...a6-8362f295cd1b
  9. you can use lego normal cross axles as leaf spings, if you put them very close to each other, you can get a very tiltable suspension.
  10. Hi Pat, i saw this truck some time ago and i got impressed how nice it was, and i rebuilt it in LDD, but i thougth, why not to make some changes, and then i did some things, the previous gear ratio of the transmission was not very good for heavy off-roading, so, i changed the gear ratio, its +/- 12.5:1, then i saw the real life unimog and i saw a winch, so i made it too, and i have also added "portal hubs", which gave me the opportunity to improve the steering movement and actually just lifted the truck by 1 stud, and i lowered the whole suspension by 1 stud (so the height is the same, but it has more clearance), but this will only work with custom 8 teeth universal joints from Efferman, i hope you like it: LXF: http://www.brickshel...nimog_u_411.lxf , more pictures at brickshelf.
  11. hey Doc, im working in a new version of the transmission, i have already reinforced the diff part with a 7x5 frame, i will upload the new transmission once finished
  12. i forgot it, sorry, here is the file: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=558594
  13. hi, i saw this topic, and i tried to make a more stronger transmission, i used the planetary hub idea from Efferman to make this, it is supossed to use the 8 teeth universal joint (marked in green), so, the reduction from the diff is 4:1 instead of 1:1, i hope you like it and thanks to Efferman for the planetary rim idea:
  14. yeah, maybe it could be possible with a enough heavy model or with NXT and a good programation of them, then it might work well, but diff will be always the best choice.
  15. a new creation, Mercedes Benz g63 AMG 6x6: this model has my fully working suspension v3, which also comes in my off roading trucks, i hope you like it.
  16. Hello all, i want to show you an smaller version of the lego technic 42043, the Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245, built in Lego City scale, this truck has various functions, the crane can move just like the technic version, and the bed can tilt, there are also 2 outriggers, the truck has full suspension in all the axles using rubber parts, i couldnt make the front grille because its too complex for a model this size (there is supposed to be an sticker), i hope you like it, any suggestion is well received. more at my brickshelf gallery
  17. i am expecting that lego create a big recovery off road truck, something like 42043 scale, but designed for off road, with bigger wheels and functions, something like the 8110, i hope they create it, however it may be a bit difficult.
  18. that model of mocpage is not mine, i just find it some time ago while trying to make another version of my prototype :), however, i will see if i make some experiments for a bigger model, and good luck if you have started to make one.
  19. this is the best choice ;) Maybe you could try to make a steering wheel like a formula car.
  20. well; its a beautyfull crap ;) , and the steering its very amazing.
  21. thats a Belaz 75710, i made an small prototype some time ago, and i used diffs, however, the real truck uses independent electric motors, for independent control and distribution of the power, and a security system in case of one of the motors fails, this truck could be built in lego using differentials with no problem, because, like the large front loaders, the wheels of the same side will move at the same speed beacuse they follow the same line, so there wont be any problem, and you can also build it with 4 independent transmission using motors, beacuse, if a motor slows down the motor on the other side will have more speed, and it will work just like a differential. you can also see this page: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/406987
  22. Amazing, it seems like a Mad Max truck, i like it.
  23. very amazing helicopter, what about if you use 3x2x11 technic curved panels for the tail?
  24. first of all, you most decide what kind of chassis you want to make, if you gonna make it of bricks, it will be less flexible and stronger, but you most make some reinforcements, if you make it of technic parts, it will be more flexible, and you wont need to many reinforcements, if you want to make a non working car, (no suspension, no transmission, no steering), you only need to make a strong chassis just to hold the wheels (mostly built of bricks), if you gonna make a working steering and maybe suspension, you can see for some creator sets, but if you want to make a fully working car, then you need technic, i will make some examples in Lego Digital Designer, maybe you will get the idea, and good luck with your car. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=558544 , the non working chassis, i will upload the others soon as possible.
  25. Seems great, its very similar to a big snowgroomer and it has nice details.
