Third one, folks. This set is quite easy to get as the hype is not as much as the last 2018 bricktober. However, the minifigures are quite lovely. 5004938 - NINJAGO Minifigures 5004939 - TLBM Minifigures 5004941 - Classic Minifigures 5005257 - NINJAGO Minifigures (2018) 5005254 - Harry Potter Minifigures (2018) Overview Name: 5005255 - Jurassic World Minifigures Theme: Promotional \ Toys R Us (Bricktober) Year: 2018 Pieces: 18 pcs Minifigures: 3 with a small dinosaur Price: free with purchase of RM199 in Malaysia. Introduction The minifigures here are considered exclusive as Dr. Ian Malcolm did not appear in any other sets. Claire and Owen did come out in other sets but the designs of their outfit here is totally new prints and check out the whistling expression for Owen! Let's go into them. Box The mould of the plastic that hold them in place is quite different at the raptor compartment. They even put a round indentation there to make them easy to retrieve. The orange coloured box makes it feels like lava is flowing around them like in the movie. Standard back of the box with words.. I love this grey stoney part of the box here. It resembles the metal cage they used in the movie to keep those dinosaurs captive. Come out, stretch a bit! Minifigures Dr. Ian Malcolm is a mathematician who is one of the main characters of the Jurassic Park franchise since the beginning of the movie long ago. He is portrayed by Jeff Goldblum in the movie and appeared in the movie as a commentator only. Here we see he is wearing a black outfit showing some of his chest hair. Unlike other bricktober minifigures, he lacks leg prints and side arm prints. He is holding a torch and the hair is the same as Bruce Banner. Jeff Goldblum. Claire Dearing was the park operations manager of Jurassic World, prior to the abandonment of the park in 2015 upon the escape of the Indominus rex. She looks pretty here with a great smile and eyelashes. The light grey outfit is also very nice on her where the printings are extended to the legs. She came with a sad facial expression maybe after looking at the beloved dinosaurs died at the volcano site. Overall this is a nice minifigure with a smartphone. Phewwwiiittt... Owen Grady was a dinosaur researcher employed by Jurassic World, who conducted a behavioral research on Velociraptors. Here he looks messy in his brown vest and a weird smile. The special thing about this minifigure is the whistling facial expression he used on Gamora/dinosaurs. LOL. The expression is quite cool and brings life to this minifigure. He comes with a back pack and a belt printing along with arm detailing at his left arm. Will you marry me? Baby raptor. This is not exclusive to this set as it appeared in 3 other sets. It is a one studed baby dinosaur which is smaller than a minifigure. The blue stripe prints are very nice and the mould is amazing for such a small creature! It looks very much alive instead of a dead piece of plastic. Blue: Can I eat that? Trust me, not as a human, but as your father. Conclusion Despite the lack of hype, I feel that this set is quite adorable after I had my hands on them. Claire is lovely and Owen is cute with his whistling face. It will be worth to have as the price won't be as high in the secondary market. A very good collection of minifigure set! Review summary Playability: N/A - I've decided to skip this part. Design: 8/10 - Not bad as the torso and face prints are not ordinary prints. Minifigures: 8/10 - Not sure about the selection but having the main characters in this set is quite subtle as others are not as popular. Price / Value for money: 8/10 - You can get it at lower price than other bricktobers I think. Overall: 8/10 - Overall I would say I'm not disappointed. What say you? Hey guys! I recently build a Technic model of the famous Indominus Rex for my 7-year old son, I wanted you all to see it and let me know what you think. The requirements were that it's pose able, playable, able to grab a minifig in it's hands, swallow a minifigure whole, and also have a stomach, where quite a lot of minifigs should fit. And most importantly, the Indominus should be able to poop them out, one by one And finally, the tail should be able to hit like a whip, sideways. First, if this is in the wrong section I apologize. I figure it would go in Town because it's a park. Now, onto the actual business. As close to minifigure scale as I could, I have recreated the Park set from the children's TV show "Barney & Friends." This one took quite a bit of time and looking at reference pics (as well as digging into my own memories). It's a build I don't think many people would think to do, and I'm pretty positive with how it turned now. It's exactly 3,025 pieces. Let's go and take a look. A general overview of the park. Here we can see everything, from the gazebo, the knoll, the exterior of the caboose, the playset and the toolshed. Of course, would this be Barney without the titular purple dinosaur and his friends? Included (from left to right) are Melanie, Riff, Barney, Baby Bop (with blankey) BJ, and David minifigures. Here is the gazebo, a bench, and leading up to the bridge and ramps. A better view of the bridge and pond. Here is the playground and a bit of the grassy knoll. Here is the outside of the caboose. This part was actually pretty difficult to do, because I wanted it to be big enough for Barney to actually stand there, as he is actually able to do. Of to the left you can see the Idea Chair. In the center is the hopscotch squares. And here are the stepping stones and the toolshed. And here are some pictures I used for reference. I hope you all enjoyed this one. Been having fun with my Nexo Knights, some knock-off Dinosaurs and Legend Beasts, some real Lego Legend Beasts and a random Mixel. I thought it'd be fun for each knight to have an animal steed instead of vehicles. What kind of things would you like to see in Nexo Knights? Anybody else found any cool knock offs online that you wish were part of the franchise?

Accordidng to Wikipedia, Some triceratops could grow up to over 9 meters long and weigh more than 12 tons. That put them in the same weight class as the ultimate predator T-rex. So their only appearance inJurassic Park obviously didn't do them justice size-wise. And if you know anything about polar bears, you would know Arctic beasts usually grow larger than their relatives in other regions of the world. Imagine how powerful and beautiful this creature must be. Features: 1. Play features. It is not a statue. It's moderately posable with tons of joints. I made it this way so it could fight a T-rex in the short movie below. You can have more poses with a few modules added or removed. 2. Sturdy. Every time I had to choose between appearance and sturdiness, I chose the latter, for which I think is a virtue of official sets. 3. Stud-Not-On-Top design, and all “legal” LEGO parts and techniques. The T-rex is the apex predator in the Cretaceous age, and the most perfect masterpiece evolution has ever managed to accomplish. Because 65 million years after its extinction, it is still the biggest and most powerful carnivore ever walked the earth.When I first watch Jurassic Park, I was immediately captivated by the power and beauty of the T-rex, and hopelessly fell in love with her. And what beats watching a T-rex movie? Building one yourself! At 59 cm length and 930 grams weight, This model is possibly the world*’s largest posable T-rex that stands on its own. * LEGO world :-) For more pics of the beast, please visit me on flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHskCpW3Se Features: 1. It grew bigger as the building went on, for we are all greedy in the detail department. As a result, at a certain moment, It suddenly hit me that this thing may never be able to stand on its own when finished, and that would be an ultimate bummer (Yes, it’s my second MOC, I never knew LEGO was so heavy!). But due to a technique (mixel joints served as tendons), a lot of time and effort put into banlancing, and many compromises made to aesthetics, the completed T-rex stands on its own. (It may not pose a problem for digital building, but I consider this the No.1 feature of this build.) 2. Play features: This beast is not only a display piece, It is moderately posable thanks to a lot of joints. And it has to be from the conveiving because there are so many cool postures and it would be a waste of bricks if it ends up to be just a statue. Again, aesthetics has to give way… to gaps. But the very essence of LEGO saves the day again: with a few parts (modules) added or removed, the gaps left by maneuvers can be covered. 3. Sturdy. Every time I had to choose between appearance and sturdiness, I chose the latter, for which I think is a virtue of official sets. 4. I try to get the proportions as real as possible. Oftentimes I see a T-rex MOC, the head is over-sized to stress the beast's ferociousness and the feet are disproportionately large to increase stability. 5. So, here's a MOC that's actually a few years old that I'd neglected to post because I wasn't super satisfied with the photos nor the build itself, but after stumbling across it again browsing through folders I think it has at least some merit, so I now present to you... The Abomirex (or A-rex if you prefer)! A mechanical monster created by one of the most diabolical minds in all the known world as a weapon of terror and conquest. Sporting massive razor-sharp claws, built-in weaponry, and tremendous mechanical strength, only the most skilled and nimble of heroes can hope to stop it. Initially conceptualized as far more overtly birdlike, with wings utilizing the clear orange sail pieces from that one Ninjago set, but I couldn't come up with a decent enough design and thus went in a more saurian direction because dinosaurs are neat. It can't see through walls, however, which could provide our hero with the upper hand. (also sort of inspired by the movie "9" and by extension the short film it was based on) Snout splits open to reveal a flamethrower. Hope your shield spell is up to snuff, or you'll be snuffed out. Get it? Fire jokes. One of its least immediately obvious weapons is its bladed claw tail, catching its opponents by surprise! But if caught, perhaps a lucky swing could bring our hero close enough to a weak point... The conspicuous power source on its back totally wasn't that weak point, why do you ask? At ease, or perhaps scanning the horizon. In profile. Torso construction detail. Full disclosure, I don't remember it being particularly sturdy, and in addition to looking somewhat jumbled overall, it's part of why I'd neglected to share it earlier. But the aesthetic still sort of works for a steampunk/dieselpunk/frankenstein mad sciencey sort of look. (also tangent time: I hate steampunk and think it's super overplayed, or at least the variation of it that everyone falls back on. what part of "british aristocracy in fancy dress with gears glued to it" is "punk", exactly?) Recently i posted a little MOC of with a Raptor used as a riding animal for a Scout in a postapocalyptic world. Today i want to show you the rest of the family,which even includes a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex as the family´s main mode of transportation to explore the world. The large dinosaur carries the whole family and their supplies they need during their travel. While the scout is escorting next to the T-Rex on his Raptor,his Wife is on the rear lookout on the large dinosaur. Meanwhile his son if goofing off with grandpa on the back of the T-Rex and the triggerhappy brother of his wife sits on the left flank on the lookout chair to look for food and trouble. In case you didn´t know, getting a T-Rex to do and walk where you want needs a patient and very experienced animal trainer and rider. This role is fullfilled by the old and wise grandpa,who raised the T-Rex from an abandoned Egg. This large animal was fitted with a platform that provides room to sit on and the sides act as storage of supplies and additionaly as armor.I mean,in these parts of the world,you never know what you are up against. In a post apocalyptic world where machinery is rare and mostly doesn´t work,nomadic people rely on domesticated dinosaurs to travel and get from one place to another. This guy is part of one nomadic family and with his fast Velociraptor,he´s there to scout the nearby area for anyimminent danger. Since he´s not alone,he only has some sparce luggage packed in the saddle. His well trained raptor is carrying a body armor made out of wood and metal,enough to protect it from minor attacks by local tribes and still light enough so the raptor can travel at great speeds. Yes! this my 3rd rendition of LEGO Snapdragon since the very first one made I about 15 years ago (when I first rekindled my passion with LEGO as an adult) VERSION 1 (2004) Back then most of the parts I used came from LEGO sets so I just make do with whatever colors I had. I even cloned 2 extra copies of this creation to be displayed in a LEGO exhibition in 2015 .. so visitors can see all 3 modes More photos here: Fall of Cybertron Snapdragon Triple Changer: A LEGO® creation by Yap Alan : MOCpages.com On retrospect, I found version 2 to be pretty dated now with a few design glitch > like protruding robot head on the jet undercarriage > weak jet nosecone design that tend to detach easily > shoulders too wide (think "ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime") > robot back kibble jutting out at a weird angle. VERSION 3 (2019) What meant to be a quick 1 week project , dragged on to about 2 weeks: My overzealousness got the better of me. I'm not much of a creature builder but I really wanted to try my hand at a dino for the Jurassic World Ideas contest. Triceratops being my favorite type of dinosaur, it just remained to find a good hybrid creature... and what better than a lion? This triceratops features a rotating neck and head (two separate segments) and articulated hip, knee, and ankle joints for significant poseability! I have a pretty small dark yellow collection but with a bit of work I made it last and even managed to incorporate that large Nexo Knights body armor piece! There's something pretty cat-like about the back view, I think it's the short bristling spikes. And that's all folks! C&C welcome and thanks for stopping by!
