  1. I don't know if it needs to be a single thread, but I personally would like a collection thread to make them easier to find. I for one am really enjoying the whimsy and fun of the Technic micro builds. Some very clever builds with minimal parts. Some are just genus! Andy D
  2. I don't think I have ver flicked a flick fire missle. I look at them as purely decorative, stay or go no difference. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  3. This is quite nice. A good example of Micropolis. Would this be considered 4 standard Micropolis base sections? The open feel would make any sports arena a pleasant one. Andy D
  4. I have no experience with the camera, but I noticed that it has 33 reviews and only an overall 2 star rating. I would suggest you read all the reviews on Amazon and decide how what the reviewer said applies to you. I would not touch a 2 star prodct. Oh, yeah, I notice you Have an HD camera, this one is only 640 X 480. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  5. I was looking some of the videos by Isogawa... And I found this quite interesting... Also looks useful. Andy D
  6. Oh, I've found another 8258, I am just not willing to pay the $300-$350 it would cost. Sad, but I'll get over it. Maybe I'll just build it from my inventory, Rebrickable say's I have the parts. Have a great build no matter what you decide, I will be following your progress. Andy D
  7. Put me in the 8258 camp. That is one of my all-time favorite Technic models. I had 2 and sold both of them (I should have kept 1). Maybe I can rebuild it vicariously through your build. Andy D
  8. I really don't think LEGO cares what investors think. I have a BL CC, not as complete as I would like... I would welcome a rerelease of the CC. Just MHO. YMMV Andy D
  9. I like it mostly, but as others have said the yellow is too hard to read. Is there a way you can outline the yellow "Volt"? Andy D
  10. Very nice! Worthy of A model status. Oh, yeah, welcome to EB. Andy D
  11. I usually design with physical parts. I have tried LDD, but I have not used it enough to become experienced and as a result it takes me much, much longer to use LDD than just getting bricks out. My typical design process has several steps... 1. What do I want to build? 2. How do I want to build it? This process usually takes several days just to get started as I do a lot of design in my head and try to see what has been done to give me ideas on how to do it. 3. I then start putting things together, sometimes from my in my head design, sometimes by modifying what others have done. A lot of my building is a trial and error process, particularly with Technic. I like to look at parts I have available and try to find different ways of assembling to achieve a result. Besides all this I like the tactile feel of bricks instead of digital representations. I have a lot of respect for those who design digitally, but it's just not me. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D
  12. I think this is great! However it is rather funny to see a vehicle only used in an space (no atmosphere) to have smoke coming from the smokestack. Great Steampunk Tie Fighter! Andy D
  13. Very impressive! I really like it. You can tell what it is by the shape, but the Steampunk vibe is just great. Andy D
  14. This could have just as easily been written by me as well! I plan to buy this book and the ebook (if available) as well. Thanks to the OP for sharing this, Andy D
  15. Can someone please remove the OTD badge for Rider Raider. Many of us wear the badge OTD as a badge of honor, but I can understand why some may not wish others to know their age. I am very proud of my title an badge and I hope that this does not affect others who display the badge with pride. Thanks so very much, Andy D
  16. Wow! A friends BWE GBC what a combination! I hope it works well at your event. Andy D
  17. If it were something I would like to build/display... Open and build, no question, I am not one to keep sealed sets as a collectable. If I did not want it I would hope I could find someone who would enjoy building it. In fact to encourage them to build it I would open the box and bags and present them with parts and instructions. I believe LEGO is meant to be built! Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  18. Not my problem. Andy D
  19. If you actually know what dinosaurs sounded like... You are older than me. ;) ;) Also welcome to all you new comers to the "Older Than Dirt Club" In a way it sounds unusual to be a newbie in the OTDC. But welcome anyway. Also, all you over 50 YO's out there, it's time to come out and get badged up. Andy D (OTDC founder)
  20. Can we have a Korean section, and an English section, or maybe just have Eurobricks run through a translate program at the server to translate all posts into the member's preferred language? I support the server doing the translation according to the member's preferred language. Should not be too expensive or put too much load on the server, nor be too much work for the moderators. Just think, all of EB now in the member's preferred language, no more complaining about language, or spelling or grammar. Or, we could just have a Rick Rolling link automatically applied to each post. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D
  21. If you want that piece of mind, then you need to make the arrangements. Me, unless I can take my LEGO with me, my family can do with it as they please. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  22. I have to agree. This is amazing! I really like the small size and functions are amazing! However.... I really do not approve of the use of a TARDIS as a porta potty, funny, but not an acceptable use of a TARDIS! Andy D
  23. My attitude is to buy new, or not at all. If the price is more than I want to pay, well, I just won't buy it. On new sets if I really want a set the price is rarely too high. The secondary market is driven by buyers, not sellers. If buyers weren't buying, then sellers would not be selling. If the price is too high, don't buy it. If you want it, then buy it, pay the price. Remember, on the secondary market, the price fluctuates according to what the buyer will pay. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D
  24. Ha ha! But is that a Cafe corner or coffee corner? Great! Andy D
  25. Wow! That is cool! In my mind, what I believe I know of you, this sign says it all. And you have great grandkids. Andy D
