I have been making Brickfilms off and on for 7 years now, and I have tried a couple of software and cameras. Right now I have 2 cameras. 1 full-HD DV Camera and one Logitech web camera. The software I use is iStopmotion for recording and iMovie for editing. (Mac OS X) Now when I am looking forward for a couple of weeks free in the summer I want to spend some time making more Brickfilms and I thought about taking it to the next level. I read about this camera http://www.amazon.com/Lego-Stop-Animation-Video-Camera/dp/B002L6IA08 It has some pros and some cons though. It can be placed on studs e.g. on a baseplate and has a macro lens, which I think could be great fun and it is not too expensive. BUT it has no HD resolution... Does someone have experience with this camera and can confirm my thoughts? And do you got ideas for other solutions? I am most interested in a micro lens-solution. If I just had the camera, I could build something with bricks to keep it stable and attached to the baseplate.

Hey, guys. I’m trying to gather LEGO parts to be used for stop motion brickfilming, but I heard using blank LEGO minifigure heads is highly advised. I was intending to do a LEGO Scooby-Doo brickfilm, but I need to know someone who can add custom face decals to blank minifigure heads for Velma Dinkley. The custom face decals I need for Velma are dual sided. One with just glasses and freckles on the first side and the other with freckles only and without glasses. First, I need to know where I can find face decals from LEGO Scooby-Doo minifigures online. That way I can find a Velma face pattern so I can manipulate the image with Gimp. Then, I can show whoever can help me the patterns I want on both sides of my blank minifigure heads. Please let me know who can help me. Thanks! -

BEHOLD: THE HOVERCAR About five years ago I was approached by a gentleman who wanted a LEGO stop-motion short. I was commissioned to create visuals for a kids' song he'd recorded with a friend. I'm excited to post all my future "Brick Flicks" here... but first, I need to figure out how to embed the youtube links into my posts. The initial directions for posting videos is about as useful as a poopy-flavored lollipop for anyone that is foreign to programing or code.
