  1. Try customer sevice, they sent me a new one without asking further questions. Mine was jumping rapidly from one side to another...
  2. Mr. 9fingers is too modest to say that he swept away the competition and won the race!!! Congratulatons again on the truck and on wining!
  3. Sorry Miguev, to keep you waiting for so long, it's been a busy weekend...report you say? I wrote a little something about it on our blog Brickhamster.net There are photos on our LUGs website and FB page, but just to get you going, here are some photos regarding my vehicles... The Inferno did very well, although the steering mechanism proved way to slow. Also the 1:9 reduction on L motors is a bit to much, but due to slow speed I managed to drive extremely reliable with no penalties on the gates and with only one rolling over. It came out second best and got me a "best technical achievement" award The Inverno was a real surprise also. Being the biggest truck on the competrition and the only 8 wheeler, I didn't give him much chance, but it proved me wrong, as it came in fourth. Steering mechanism with the servo motor had quite some issues due to lack of power under the heavy cabin, but I still managed to guide it quite well through a winding racetrack, which was created mainly for 4x4 trial trucks. There was one point on the track where almost all trucks rolled over, well the Inferno lost it's front right tyre Oh, and to answer your question Miguev: The nipples remain strong, firm and perky :-) Not a single problem regarding those CV joints. One thing I should've known better were those exposed gears at the bottom of the truck - Inverno is not only a trial truck, it is also a spinach blender - the grass got caught in those teeth, so I'll have some brushing to do when I dismantle that one Much of the grass is already removed on the photo below. Another thing to improve is to secure those axles in the drive train. You can see them coming out of their holes. And yes, there was some gear grinding in the middle section - tje spinach wasvno help :-) To conclude, here is a photo of the whole competition, for more info and photos please check the above provided links. Best regards, miha P.S.: You can all shoot me in my kneecaps as I don't have a single second of video footage from the race. I totally forgot to put my camera in someones hands at least while I was driving. Still, I do plan to take those two dogs on a walk along a nice riverbank in the near future and present a proper video of their performance.
  4. I second Lipko's suggestion! I also have one Q regarding the transformation: can it be done by also adding some elements manually or should everything pop out from the non battle mode model. Oh, and is it necessary that the transformation is motorised/automated or can it be done just by hands?
  5. Amazing job and extremely realistic design. Well done and hat off for your perserverence with the model. A real jawdropper ! I am a bit boggled by the grass picking mechanism. I thought that those rotating "grabbers" should rottate in opposite direction in order to suck in the grass. Isn't the upper one actually pushing the grass back towards outside?
  6. @miguev: You are right, although my hubs are from 8297. CV joints held up good so far. We have a TT race today so I guess I'll see how it does under real pressure :-) I think popping out is out of the question though, because the CV joint is kinda pushed into the hub by additional half bush on the driving axle and has no slack in transversal direction. I only wish that those tiny "nipples" on the CV joints head survive :-)
  7. Does it really matter? If you haven't seen any, than that means you we're not influenced by others ideas, so whatever you build will be geniune and yours. It doesn't matter if there were already hundreds of them...if you feel like building one, than just do it. That's what LEGO is all about. Good luck with your MOC ;-) Don't forget to post it :-)
  8. Well, quite a few similar bajas surfaced this weekend and with no disrespect to other designers, yours is by far the best! Congratulations, job well done!
  9. @Gzzig: I can't really say, I've only heard grinding when one of the wheels caught a big stone, but didn't pay to much attention from which pair of gears it came from. But yes, I'd say slipping on the first 12/20 bewel gears pair might occur, but so could on all 12/12 pairs on each of the suspension arms, because the torque is higer there than on the starting gears og the drive train.
  10. As promised, some chassis photos of those hot'n'cold badboys... You can click on photos for higher resolution pics. Cheers!
  11. @LvdH: I really wouldn'know, I saw it on real trucks and other MOCs and I liked it, so I put them on as well. It looks like a special type of rim cover, but I really have no idea why. But you are right, it is much more fun watching those wheels roll :-) @Gzzig: Sure. I'll do it ASAP, but at the moment I really haven't got any photo of the Invernos belly. If it makes your waiting any easier I can tell you, that it is a single driveshaft axle driven by 2 hardcoupled PF XL motors downgeared 1:4,632. There is no reduction on the suspension arms which are offset for one stud. Front two axles are steered by PF Servo, the second axle rotates 0.6 the angle of the first axle and there is ackermann geometry, but unfortunately the steering system has too much slack and isn't as reliable as I would like it to be. In addition, both of the trucks have a fake engine inside/below the cabin and working steering wheel...oh, and the Inferno has pendular suspension - the axles are connected by levers so they rotate in opposite directions (inspired by Thirwiggs trucks).
  12. 8466 - 4x4 off roader: I missed a couple of good deals on our main e-flee market...those pp tires...Yummy!!! Unfortunately, I am not that rich to meet today prices.
  13. Hi, there's been awful alot of teasing going on here on EB Technic forum, so I'll play the game along . Just to TEASE, I'd like to TEASE you with my latest two MOCs: Inferno & Inverno WARNING: TEASER 1 This two workhorses were built for an upcoming truck trial race, held by Slovenian LUG Kocke Klub, Kocke Terenci. They both have some issues, so they might seem more intimidating than they actually are. I have to give credits to Madoca and his fantastic Tatra 813, as the Inverno is heavily inspired by it, especially the rollcage, but only the cross reinforcement on the roof is copied. More on those nags after the competition, 'cause this is just a TEASE remember - just kidding, I am actually quite busy these days, so I don't have time for a proper representation, but I am, of course, open for questions...and yes, I'll prepare a video, hopefully on the race. TEASER 2: The Inferno... ...and (TEASER 3) the Inverno (yes, a cargo plane can infact be a truck) Best regards, Miha
  14. Woow, this is just unbelieveable!!! Can you perhapse estimate the number of pieces used? How fragile are the pistons? Is the arm posable, I mean if you add or take away those chromed 1x1 round bricks can you move it? Again - a real jaw-dropper! Looking forward to your next creations - you sir are beeing watched :-) ...and blogged also on Brickhamster.net Best regards!
  15. Miguev, dude, why again shouldn't you show this to us??? I think it is a very good build! So lift your spirits a bit higher man. I'm not sure about "fakeness" of your caster angle. As far as my understanding of caster angle goes, it has nothing to do with suspension arms, but only with the inclination of the line between upper and lower pivot point... Looking forward to your video!!!
  16. I agree, you could be close to getting the Arocs and at least the pneumatic cylinder brackets for a well preserved 8421...
  17. Wow, those rally cars are awesome! Do you have some photos of the controls? What BB were you using and what cables? Were there many broken parts after the race? Oh, And how many broken legs because of running wild after those speeders? :-P
  18. Hmmmm, lets see,... I have 12 of each, that's 24 x 60 € = ... - yes, I'm rich, now only to find an idiot to throw away so much money for them I don't know if they actually still make them - but its true: Sealed bags from 8043 with those panels in'em are given as LUG support for certain events. I guess those are leftovers from 8043 production line.
  19. If you came up with this in just 2 hours than you sir are a genius I already tried out the chassis, thx for LDD. It works great, now I am tweaking it 'cause those CV joints keep falling apart. I've also tried with a servo motor for steering and its quite ok - the only problem is, that you can't align two axles with 12/20 tooth gear combo, there is one tooth misalignment, so the car won't drive straightforward, but it slightly turns...
  20. I really like your videos! Are there two photos for each step? It seems like bricks don't just appear, but kinda slide into place. You have a high level of patience and perserverence. I'll follow your future work for sure :-)
  21. I agree with Jeroen, the cabin is fantastic! Crane version is the best. I really like the whole bunch, very good design for a relatively small scale. What do you mean by disconnected transmision?
  22. I like it as well! Well done on the launcher, perhapse I'll borrow your idea someday:-)
  23. 3 years??? Now that is persistence! I like the small details you made. I miss a photo of the underside, and I really think, that the crane supports should have some plate on the bottom. Only naked pneumatic piston head seems to unrealistic to me. Respect for sticking with it for so long. Best regards, miha Oh, and I am a bit puzzled about the clutch - how exactly does it transfer drive to the 4L axle with stop?
  24. Wow! First MOD of any MOC of mine! Thanks for considering it. I see you used stronger spring for the rear axle, which was really necessary, the original one was way too soft. And you've changed/mistaken the rear wing a bit, I like mine version better :-P Motorisation of the Dawnbreaker was always my wish, but I didn't want to sacrifice the cockpit for the BB. I think with one of those 3rd party 9V battery connectors, I'd manage to squezze all on the rear axle, but I'm not sure if an M motor could be positioned and connected to the steering somewhere at the bottom of the cockpit. Me too would be very happy to see it drive, I hope you make some moving pictures! Thanks again, I feel honored ;-)
  25. How about a photo from the side? Hard to judhe it only by frontal shots ;-)
