[ESL-FB] Stone Quarry (99 pieces)
Capt Wolf replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good job using limited pieces! The baseplate seems to fit perfectly. Great quarry! -
The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-up and Discussion
Capt Wolf replied to kabel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The town of Weelond is growing toward Large Town status and needs your help. The settlement on An Holli, Eslandola's jewel of the Sea of Storms, needs more artisan properties! Therefore, the town bank has been authorized by Governor Guilder to offer 25db to the first two players who build and license an artisan property in Weelond this month. And if you don't want to spend the doubloons to license it? You can still get 10db for an unlicensed artisan property if the builder will allow the town bank to license it. And that's on top of the usual freebuild doubloons. So, if you have an idea for an artisan property -- a butcher's shop, a bakery, a candlestick maker, a tavern, printer's shop, barrel maker, tailor, or something else -- consider building in Weelond this month. This message was approved by Willem Guilder, Governor of An Holli and Mayor of Weelond.- 780 replies

Excellent build, especially the shed. The whole thing looks used and lived in. It has character!

The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio
Capt Wolf replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Note that you can't more than double your ship's crew rating, so for example a ship with a crew rating of "2" or "3" could add 10 men, a ship with a crew rating of "4" could add up to 20 men. -
Corrington vs. Carno - Dashing Out
Capt Wolf replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Fabulous scene! Love the pine trees! Good figure posing, too. And I'm going to have to try out that road technique sometime. Well done! -
I'll look forward to seeing new designs! And I think you need to consider building a carriage maker as an artisan property.

Very nice ship. Good shape, and well armed. Good color scheme, too. She turned out great!

Phred, regarding the settlement requirements, since a large property counts as two properties for settlement size purposes, would a large factory, for example, count as two factories for the required number of factories as a settlement grows?

Excellent galleon! Great shape and size, fantastic ornamentation. I applaud Captain Morgan's taste in ships. I will study this one for awhile. Where does the printed piece on the stern come from?- 19 replies

Another gorgeous ship! I'd have to go back through them all to be sure, but I think this one is one of my favorites. Great lines and proportions; there's just something very sleek about this one. Beautiful bow. All your effort paid off. -
Very nice! Such a simple solution to the design problem. It looks great! I may be stealing this design in the future, and look forward to your additional carriage designs.

Woot! I love xebecs, and this one is excellent! The shape is wonderful, and you've properly angled the masts! There's a lot to take in here. Love it! -

Capt Wolf replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent tower! Good design, good use of color and texture, and appropriate size for what it represents. I understand the argument that, as newly built, it shouldn't look so aged, but it's so attractive as is that I'm not complaining.- 20 replies

[COR-FB3] The journey begins- Rowing up the Marion River.
Capt Wolf replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great scene, even better tree! Wow! Great attention to detail. Using plates where the oars hit the water instead of tiles is a great effect. Did I say "great" enough? -
Great looking sloop! Nice lines/curves; the shaping of the quarterdeck is superb! I like your use of window shutters as the hatch. I'm sorry to hear she's already given her parts for others.

[ESL-FB] Taberna Caldo, Strada Iniesta, Nova Terreli
Capt Wolf replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
LOVE the roof! as well as the stone/brick effect on the lower level. Also, the figure posing in this build is excellent, and I really like how you've given the structure an evolving history! And I like what you've done combining this with the other builds. I'm envious of your ability to use such vibrant colors so convincingly in your builds! Nova Terreli is really developing a character all its own! -
I like it, although I'm not sure about tilting the main mast back like that. Good color scheme. And I like the idea in your story of improving upon the captured ship!

Thanks! I enjoy the challenge of creating curves out of square bricks, and I have a fondness for the early ships. But if I lose this one in the MRCA, I may have to turn pirate to get her back! Thank you! It means a lot coming from somebody who creates such beautiful ships. If only I could build them in real bricks half as fast as you do digitally! -
I love it! That's a great little coastal trader. You've given her a little bit of width at the center (yes, I know, to hide the join of the row boats, but it still looks good), a tiller, a goodly bit of cargo, and the golden wing at the bow looks sharp. Glad to see you're starting your son out right!

Bregir, thank you very much! And Montoya and Cooke would be very welcome in Weelond. Perhaps I can entice you to build in Weelond and add your touch to it! (Watch for build incentives in June.) -
[COR - May FB2] Penal Quarry and Brickworks
Capt Wolf replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great quarry! Quarries were common where I grew up, and your build was instantly recognizable. Defining the layers was an excellent detail! And the idea behind the story is excellent. Well done all around!
