  1. Another ship for the mighty Eslandola merchant fleet: the class 4T2 Far Horizon.
  2. After losing his first command in a hurricane, Captain Philip Janszen did not expect that an assignment to a larger ship was in his immediate future. But Anthony Crol, his first mate, apparently had friends in high places (did he know someone in the Fontonajo family?) and secured them command of the Class 4 Far Horizon. Janszen was still in Port Raleigh after their rescue, but Crol and the rest of the crew of the Lady of Madrice were now in Nova Terreli to prepare the Far Horizon to sail at the end of the month. Anchored in the harbor, the Far Horizon was quite a sight for Crol. Four cannons per broadside, with two sizable swivel guns on the bow. She was said to be a fast ship, and Crol looked forward to seeing her at sail. But for now he must make do with making sure the ship is properly provisioned and that all cargo is stored properly below deck. * * * * * I built this ship at the same time as I built the Heart of Eslandia, so it does not feature any of the lessons learned from that build. Furthermore, it was designed to be a bit sturdier and more “playable.” The head rails are less realistic and more like some of the early official Lego ships. A ship of this era would not have a wheel on the quarterdeck, but rather a whipstaff or tiller below deck, but a wheel above deck is the better play option. The stern does hinge down for access to the captain’s cabin, but it is not detailed.
  3. Quick and dirty works for me. Thanks for doing this!
  4. Those longhouses are great, and this is a logical extension of that first build. And I love that you're doing a more historical/realistic approach to the age of exploration. Excellent!
  5. A couple of new pictures have surfaced of the MCTC warehouse in Weelond. Apparently there's more to it than initially illustrated. The warehouse extends well back from the street front. A side alley allows the workers to move goods out of the main street while they work. But they better watch what they're doing. Two pigs have escaped! This property was never licensed after it was built, so I decided to fill it out closer to the size I originally imagined, and I will be licensing it as a medium commerce property.
  6. Imaginative build, well executed! Great use of micro figs. Very fun!
  7. Excellent distillery! I like the "history" of the building with the boarded up window and such, and your storage room is much better than I did with the Weelond Brewing Company. Apparently Eslandola is cornering the market on spirits!
  8. Maxim, thanks for all your work with the ship list. It really adds a lot to the game! Regarding the Prince Fernando, while I'm the builder, the ship will be owned by the MCTC and shareholders. FYI. Also, if you want to keep track of this type of thing here, the Heart of Eslandia was sold by Bloody Bill to Bregir and is now the Bellson. I know that info appears in the Corrington list, I just wasn't sure if you wanted it here as well.
  9. How does one go about "unlicensing" a build? Use the adjudication form, or is there some other provision for it?
  10. I'm in for two shares. 50 doubloons transferred to MCTC.
  11. Two errors in the Capt Wolf account, in reverse order: The ship I licensed in April was a free license (I had lost my ships in the March MRCA), so I shouldn't be charged the 150 there. The large plantation (with monopoly bonus) I licensed in March was an expansion of an earlier medium plantation, not a new property. The license cost should only be the difference (100-75=25), so my total property license expenses for March should be 50, not 125. Furthermore, all subsequent property yield numbers are 23 doubloons too high, as they give me credit for both a medium plantation (w monopoly bonus) and a large plantation (w monopoly bonus) when I only have the large plantation. Link to the original medium plantation. Link the upgraded large plantation.
  12. Great job with the yin and yang symbol!
  13. Nice build! I like the verticality of it. It serves the purpose of the build perfectly.
  14. Beautiful job! You've captured her perfectly! Just stunning!
  15. Beautiful job. I'm in love! I can't say enough good things about this build!
  16. Good build! I like the rockwork and how you've combined the "earthy" colors. And it's instantly recognizable that they're prospecting for gold. Well done!
  17. Simple in appearance, but very good! It accurately portrays the time period. We need more builds like this! Well done!
  18. Wonderful ship! I love the brick-built masts, and you've done an excellent job with the rigging! The tumblehome gives her a good shape, too. Inspiring! I need to start doing detailed rigging like this on my ships.
  19. I meant to comment on this earlier. I like the build, and really like the story. This is a good look at culture within the BoBS setting. I like the concept the "behind the warehouse" stage and the way religion - old or new - grow. Well done, and a great contribution to the BoBS universe.
  20. Phenominal job, Elostirion! The raw size of this is amazing all by itself, but there are so many clever elements and details! You've done a great job designing and building the different parts of the process (just how you've used various round cones and bricks to represent spools of fabric is well done, not to mention fabric on machinery), but you've also included fun details like the cat chasing the mouse, the chocolate for the workers, and August the pig. I particularly like the photo from the ground floor of the interior where you can see the worker crossing on the catwalk above. And I really like how you used arched window frames as the supports for the upper-level railing (I will steal that idea at some point). I'm amazed at what you've done in such a short time. Congratulations, and thanks for building this for us all to enjoy!
