  1. Hello Everyone, Over the last few months I have been working on my vectron in LDD. The main purpose of building this train was to be able to fit 2 xl motors (with gearing) into one unit. I finished the main body, but it looks a bit off and I'm not sure exactly what proportions are wrong. Any suggestions or ideas are very much appreciated. Here's what I have: The vectron locomotives have a slight slant to the front panel just below the windscreen, however I decided against making it since it would just make the model weaker and add unnecessary complexity, in my opinion. Here's what the inside looks like just to give you an idea of the space (or the lack thereof) I have. Thanks for reading
  2. The synchronicity is unbelievable and astounding. My father used to work at the company directly adjacent to this building. I remember passing this building on the sidewalk several times. Looks fantastic! Can't wait to see more of your progress. There's actually another old fire station in Portland that is being repurposed.
  3. I love that the excavator's movements are fluid and at the perfect speed!
  4. What a staggering build! A true masterpiece! I applaud you for reusing the 2x4 tile from the modular restaurant kit.
  5. Hello everyone! I created a four axle MAN TGS truck with a loading crane and a tipping bed. The cabin itself took me over four hours to complete through multiple iterations. I have ended up with a design that I am quite pleased with. MORE Comments and criticism are much appreciated! Thank you for reading!
  6. Your train bases are ideal for bi-level railcars, so metrolink's railcars would be perfect. Personally, I prefer the new Siemens Charger over the older diesels. The images were too large so: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/locomotive/images/7/78/Metrolink1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150201014702 https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8751/16694425297_1226a2c136_b.jpg
  7. Maybe custom treads using the 1x2 rubber parts would be even grippier than the standard lego tread.
  8. I have always had an interest in lego climbers and out of all that I have seen so far, this is by far the most impressive design. However, the placement of the battery box is questionable. Would it have been better to place it in the front? I believe this would further prevent the machine from flipping back. Although you could simply test this by driving it backwards. I believe increasing the ground clearance would raise the center of gravity, which would be detrimental to the function of the vehicle.
  9. Your Go-Kart Racing could be renamed to "Game of Switches"
  10. Thank you very much! Yes the windshield is something that annoys me, however, I enjoy the realistic proportions more. Trains; Yes I build them in 8 wide. Photos I started building trains in 7 wide but then realized that 8 wide was the most realistic, so I changed my building accordingly. Part of me is annoyed that 8 wide train builders make ISOs 6 wide because if you scale your models correctly they should actually be 7 wide. Since 7 wide is also the width of trucks, the container has no overlap over the truck. I will be posting another 7 wide truck moc very soon.
  11. The truck is from the bridge carrier city kit.
  12. Hello Everyone! I believe this is my first post in the town forum. I normally build trains and technic vehicles, however I decided to build a minifig scale vehicle. My quick scaling calculations revealed that the minifig scale trucks should be about 7.2 studs wide. I decided that 7 studs would suffice. Here is my reference vehicle. I eliminated the water cannon on top because I thought it looked to bulky and the white bar behind the cabin because I just didn't like the look of it. Apart from the aforementioned details, I believe I have accurately modeled the vehicle. What do you think I did correctly? What could I have done better? Thanks for reading!
  13. Hilarious! I will be revisiting this thread for my daily chuckle.
  14. What a lovely locomotive! I am still wrapping my head around how unique the rear is compared to other steam locomotives. However, I think the E-Motor is woefully underpowered for this type of application. I think you can probably squeeze an L motor in by using one of these and two 16 tooth bevel gears. Although you would loose some rpm, your torque would be almost five times greater.
  15. Absolutely adorable! You should make more models at this scale!
  16. Very thorough review, despite such a small kit! I think you may have forgotten about the 8295 telehandler.
  17. Great work! I think you could make the shape of the plow more complex, however. Does your model have suspension? (underside shot please! )
  18. Wow! What an amazing start! I love how you are able to create subtle curves by using technic beams and the small wing piece! Can't wait to see more!
  19. Despite never having seen the movie, I imediately recognized your model. I love the pulsating core, however, I'm not exactly sure how it works. Do you have any photos of that area specifically?
  20. Your consist looks amazing! Now you might want to make a small platform for your passengers.
  21. This is great news! Now, I would like to point out that a small train wheel with a technic axle hole would be very useful, since the regular PF wheel is often out of proportion to the narrow gauge rolling stock.
  22. Nicely done! I'd love to know how you extended the grilles on the side. I love the realistic coupler on the front along with the striped plow. Do you use one or two PF motors? However, I can't help but notice how awkward the width looks in comparison to the height. I honestly think that it would look best in 8 wide with the front done in 7 wide.
  23. Looks very promising, however, I must say that the LBG is bland. What wheels will you use?
  24. Give me a month or two
  25. Thank you very much! No, they aren't steerable, however, now that you mention it, I'm considering adding a steering system.
