  1. The ripples are a very nice effect. I especially like the cracks on the upper level. Very well done!
  2. I think you absolutely nailed the proportions of the Sherman. Excelent model!
  3. I remember when I built 42000 the part that connected the shock to the pushrod broke at the vertical mounting snapped and was sorely disapointed.
  4. Very nice work. I especially like the extendable trailer. My only criticism would be that you could have detailed the grille a bit more. Does it have drive and steer functions or is it just HoG?
  5. I remember from an old police boat(7899) I got quite a while ago, had an attachable motor on the bottom of the hull. You could use a hull that had such a mounting and make your own keel. Seems difficult though.
  6. Go to my bricksafe... But not much. It's quite simple, so its within my price range
  7. Hello Everyone! Today I have created a small train shed intended for very small shunters, specifically, the Stadler Ee 922. I'm going to build it IRL as soon as I can muster the energy to go on to bricklink to find the parts. I would upload pov ray images, but since I am using a mac, I cannot. http://www.bricksafe.com/pages/Beck/train_mocs/minitrainshed Thanks, Beck
  8. Absolutely stunning! This is honestly the BEST looking supercar in Lego I have EVER seen. Love the hubcaps! Fantastic job!
  9. Thanks for all of your feedback!
  10. Hello Everyone! This is my first Technic MOC that I've posted. So here goes! I decided to build a 6x6 MAN TGS with a simple 2 speed gearbox. I have been inspired by many other designs. You may recognize these if you are very observant. To the point of this post. On my first prototype I used Sariel's 2 speed linear gearbox which proved to be very effective, but too large. I decided to have a crack at building my own gearbox. This was the result (http://www.bricksafe.com/pages/Beck/technic_mocs/6x6-man-crane-truck-) see images "IMG_0284-IMG_0286" I tried to make it as simple and robust as possible. My problem: Due to the weight of the truck the gearbox makes a clicking noise whenever I add a load to the chassis. (I use my hand to apply a force to simulate a load) Also when the clicking starts the truck looses torque that I feel. What can I do to fix this problem? I have uploaded videos on my bricksafe account. For test and recording purposes I used (http://brickset.com/parts/4270473) to stay in gear. FYI: the truck is a WIP and is nearing completion Thank you in advance! Any help/advice is appreciated!
  11. Hi everyone, Currently I am working on an 8258 sized truck (will upload pictures soon), and was wondering which motor (XL vs L) would be better suited for driving such vehicle. I am have a two speed gearbox with ratios of: 1st: 1:1.5 and 2nd: 1:1.8. Any advice is appreciated!
  12. Now that I am starting to have time to build again after a few months, I realized that I don't have many technic parts, or not enough to build anything substantial. Now, on to my question; Where do you buy bulk lego technic parts to start a new project? Any ideas?
  13. I am going to be building a basic RC car with the Lego RC motors, but without the RC UNIT because I dont have it. I am going to be controling this car with an arduino Uno. So First question: What is (safest) the highest voltage I can run an RC motor on without overheating. What Voltage does the 8881 Powerfunctions battery box run on. What voltage do the NXT motors run on using the NXT to 9v cable(steering) Thanks for your time!
  14. I have done some research and have found the tires, but there are three versions. One with the inner rims, another without rims, and the last is hollow. http://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?itemType=P&q=132&sortBy=N&sortAsc=A they are the 4th, 5th, and 6th items
  15. Greetings, I am a Teen from the USA in who has been building lego before he was able to walk. I have always had a soft spot for lego in my life and have always made time to build or just to look at my MOCs. I have always, and still do enjoy building trucks. Recently I have begun to build my own trains, which are hideous, but am making progress. It has been only a few months where I have started to document all of my lego creations and am enjoying doing so. I am always interested in new SNOT building techniques. I am also the proud owner of the 6399 airport shuttle, which I adore. I spend most of my time modifying my MOCs and enjoy doing so.
  16. Can you tell me what part # the tires are? I like the scale of the minfig to wheel size. Seems just perfect
