  1. I've found that rubbing hand soap (just a bit- don't need a lot) with water onto the T piece and the end of the tubing can really make a difference. You can flush the soap out with water if you want when they're attached. To add on to what allanp said, make sure you dry your hands really well after you wash otherwise it can get kinda slippery.
  2. Hi there! For your first MOC this is quite good. I can see how you paid attention to all of the details on the real truck. I have a few ideas if you wanted to tweak it. Firstly I think the windshield is too high compared to the pictures you provided. This type of scania cab is difficult to replicate at minifigure scale due to the lack of suitable windscreens. The 2x2x6 windscreen(the one most CITY trucks use) is the right height but is too sloped and the one that you used is flat, as is the real truck, but is simply too high. I've encountered this same problem while building minifig scale trucks and have opted for the sloped windscreen (personal preference). Also as you can see on the firetruck, the rear of the truck with all of the compartments is just wider than the cabin. What most truck builders do in lego is they make the cabin 6 wide (not including the mudguards) and the rear 7 wide. This small difference creates a 1/2 stud offset on either side making the truck look just that more realistic. Just some thoughts. After digging through my ldd files I came up with an interesting solution to the windscreen problem. I've tried to replicate the livery of the truck you provided: http://bricksafe.com.../Beck/town-mocs Have a look ^^ Anyways, I hope you found this helpful. I know I kind of went on a bit much, but hopefully to your benefit!
  3. Looks really nice! The red underbody with the white cabin is a nice contrast that catches the eye!
  4. **Speechless** At first I wasn't sure if it was a diecast model or Lego. I'm not sure one medium motor is enough for a model that size?
  5. I really like the modularity of this design, but I have a few questions. How do you steer with all three modules hooked up if there's no steering? Or are they meant to be hooked up together? How would one control the tipper variant IRL? Or is it an automated vehicle?
  6. There's so much SNOT I need to blow my nose. In all seriousness, very well done!
  7. Having been there myself, it was instantly recognizeable! Can't wait to see the finished product.
  8. Your creations never cease astound me! Great Job!
  9. I too have been experimenting with building WWII aircraft. So far they look very good. They're missing one feature that makes them warplanes. Guns. What versions of each aircraft did you decide on? For instance the spitfire had too many variants to name.
  10. I love the idea of building a crane! I just feel the time constraint is too much of an issue. I don't think 1 2/3 months is enough to build a crane. Most are quite large and require lots of time. I'd really appreciate if the end date was moved to Dec 1 or some later date.
  11. The vehicle that you're trying build is either 4x2 or 4x4 tractor unit with a crane on a trailer. Your truck that you have is a 5x2x3 meaning 5 total sets of wheels, 2 driven, and three steered on one chassis. Solid suspension basically means none right? Or is just another way of saying live axle? Anyways. If you want the truck to have any type of off road capability dont use the servo, but if the truck is a roadgoing vehicle then you should be fine.
  12. Absolutely love it. You may want to add a 1x6 black smooth tile on the front, but other than that its perfect!
  13. Wow some great MOCs came out of this contest. Just curious, who pays for the prize kits?

I love the layout, but the vehicles are spectacular.
  15. Wow. I really like your CV joint. 8 XLs thats stupidly powerful. I don't even have 8 XL motors.
  16. 12 functions with one motor... wow! I'm impressed that you got all of the functions to work at their realistic(practical) speed with only one motor. The battery/motor module is something I haven't seen before. My real only criticism is thatt the gearbox levers on the fenders are a tad too big. Maybe 1x2 technic halfbeam might work better. Great work.
  17. The locomotive has quite a peculiar shape to it and I think you captured it very well. I am not a fan of 6 wide, but it looks nice.
  18. In my opinion the Volvo trucks are some of the worst (looking). I know, I must be crazy . But you did a really nice job replicating the cab!
  19. The Class 08 looks pretty good, but I think the main problem is going to be your choice of drivetrain. I believe the M-motor runs at 272rpm at 9v and with your drivetrain your output rpm is ~11. This would be slower than a micromotor (16rpm I think). You would have too much torque and very little speed.
  20. I see that there are a FEW minor improvements, but overall it's a obvious copy paste. I already own the first winter village toy shop and have all, but one of the winter kits. This year is a SORE DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm quite displeased with TLG. I know I musn't be the only one with this opinion.
  21. The best bargain I've come across is the Mobile Crane II (42009) for 180 USD new in box (6cents per part).
  22. I think you need some rear mudguards. Like this. You also might want to chang the color of the front mudguard to either grey or black just to give it some color variety. But overall I like the truck!
  23. I still have no idea who this character is, but it is very well done. The dark red and grey work very well together. The moustache is very nice.
