  1. I hope the Saturn V comes with some minifigs of the astronauts, that would be amazing (and the original creator did propose such a thing at one point I believe)
  2. I dont play the game (or even have a console to play it on) but just like I bought the Slimer pack to get the Slimer fig, some of these packs might enter my collection the same way. Sonic looks cool, I want that fig if the price is right (I also want the Ghostbusters and BTTF level packs but cant justify paying the high price for them) Fantastic Beats might be good if it has something unique in terms of minifigs (and again, if the price is right) The one revealed Harry Potter pack doesn't do it for me but the other one might. LEGO City Undercover might be cool although I already own no less than 6 police stations (7 if you count this years jail set as a police station) and have more than enough cops so buying a pack just for another cop makes no sense. The packs for the new Ghostbusters film might be worth a look for parts (same reason I am considering the new Ecto-1 set) None of the other franchises added in this wave interest me. Like others here I am surprised LEGO hasn't added Nexo Knights (a theme that sits in a similar position in LEGO's marketing/lineup as Chima and NinjaGo both of which made it into Dimensions)
  3. The decision to cancel Infinity was only made a short while ago, there hasn't been enough time for LEGO/TT Games to produce anything Disney. Its quite possible we will see Disney stuff (and Marvel and Star Wars) announced in a future announcement in 2017 or 2018.
  4. Surprising they picked the Beetles set. Saturn 5 is awesome and as a space buff from way back, I want one. As for Concorde, the rejection is likely due to it being a little on the large side plus the need to license the Concorde name from Airbus or whoever owns it these days (and also the names of any airlines they use on it). Whereas the Saturn 5 can be turned into a viable set at a price point that makes sense for TLG and they dont need a lot of licensing (they have actually had dealings with NASA before for both the Mars Rover ideas set and before that, the NASA Discovery line of sets).
  5. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to model the front of the G:Link tram in LEGO? Here is a picture of the front of one: I want to build it in 8-wide (since I have buses at 8-wide and a 6-wide tram wont look good next to them)
  6. I dont think the bases are gold, I think they are trans-orange (as reported previously) and the digital editing on the box makes them look gold...
  7. Ended up with this set as an exhibitor gift at the BrisBricks Strathpine event and finished putting it together earlier. Its not a set I would have purchased or was particularly keen on but now that I have it, I really like it. Some great parts in there too (the 8x16 plates in black in particular are going to be very useful to me). Its surprisingly fun to play with as well.
  8. Loving this MOC, the piano store is cool. So many details all over the place.
  9. +1 for TRON, I would LOVE some TRON minifigs.
  10. The characters from the vast Disney universe I would most like to see show up in a future Disney CMF series are: Scrooge McDuck. Would have the same head as Donald and Daisy with different printing and a new top hat similar to Donald's sailor hat. Accessory would be a cane/walking stick. Snow White (with the exception of a Duplo set, we have never gotten this character in LEGO and the movie is a classic). Accessory could be a red apple (the poisoned apple she eats later in the film). Hercules. Not sure what kind of heroic weapon Hercules is depicted with in the movie but whatever it is, it would probably make a good accessory. Zeus (from Hercules). Accessory would be lightning bolts. If they can do things that are more animal than human, some characters from The Lion King would be awesome to see.
  11. MYER has 20% off LEGO tomorrow (online starts today apparently). But the greedy SOBs have specifically EXCLUDED "Creator Expert" :(
  12. So far its 0 for 4 in QLD in terms of MYER stores having any decent stock (i.e. modulars, big sets, d2c etc). Nothing in the CBD store at all as of earlier today (and the CBD store is usually the one with the best stock levels). I did however see a couple of Big Bang Theory Ideas sets yesterday at MYER in Garden City...
  13. Weird that it would be an exclusive then given previous Ideas sets have not been.
  14. I dont know that it will necessarily be an exclusive. It may not come to Australia but if it does it will probably be available at all the retailers that have previously stocked Ideas sets (so probably MYER, Toys R Us, David Jones, Toyworld and various independents)
  15. Picked up the Slimer pack today (for the fig, I dont have the game) and I must say the fig is great, will be perfect for the MOC I have in mind...
  16. Looking at the list of items for review: Fossil Museum wont get made, its too niche, they already did a dinosaur skeleton in the Research Institute set plus some of those skeleton builds look questionable. Jedi Council is too big and tied to an existing license so forget that. Same with the Jurassic Park Visitor Center. Modular Train Station has the same problems as other modulars that got rejected. Old fishing store is cool but I cant see it passing the "will it sell" test. Particle accelerator wont sell to anyone who isn't a scientist, geek or physics guy even ignoring any safety or size issues. BB8 has the magnet issue (its now illegal in many countries to use small magnets like that in toys, even the USA has imposed restrictions on toys with magnets small enough for a child to swallow) plus the "existing license" problem Not sure about the Johnny 5 set or the Gingerbread House
  17. Forget Spaceballs, the producers of Spaceballs did a deal with George Lucas whereby they got to make the movie without being sued (and got to use whatever things they used) but in return had to agree to never produce any merchandise tied to the movie. So regardless of what may happen votes wise, its impossible for any Spaceballs projects to ever get produced.
  18. From the information I have read, it will have a PaB wall so that's good (especially given how close to Dreamworld I am) I believe (although dont quote me on this) it will also get stock of all the things that don't otherwise come to Australia as well as getting their stock at the same time as Shop @ Home.
  19. The closest you will get to a full list is something like this http://brickset.com/parts/category-System-Figure-Heads-And-Masks
  20. I am seriously considering buying Slimer since I love Ghostbusters, own the Ecto-1 Ideas set and cant afford the GBHQ at this point. This even though I dont own the game or even have a console to play it on.
  21. Good to see the return of the mailbox piece in yellow in the Airport Starter Set. Its not clear whether the airmail logos on the doors in the set are printed or stickered though, can anyone tell?
  22. Bard Gender: Male Torso print: Medieval looking clothes Headgear: Hair Facial expression: Happy singing Legs: matching the torso Accessory: lute Fiddle Player Gender: Male Torso print: blue shirt with pockets Headgear: black cowboy hat Facial expression: happy Legs: Blue jeans with gold belt buckle Accessory: Fiddle
  23. So many nice parts in this set. My top 5 favorite parts from the set are: The wheelchair The child head with the freckles and glasses The white hair on the grandma fig The space torso on the kid playing soccer The baby
  24. If Big W gets the GBHQ then you can forget about any meaningful discounts (now that Woolies have decided to exit Masters they no longer need to have the deep discount Big W sales to keep Masters going like they did last year)
  25. Australian RRP for the Tower Bridge is $379.99 so Big Ben is going to be smaller than that.
