  1. I like the new police sets and will be adding a bunch of them to my collection. If nothing else, police stations are often great parts packs :)
  2. Anyone know what the deal is with the Apollo Rocket? The Old Fishing Store is being listed on Brickset as 21309 with no listing for the Apollo Rocket at all even though the Fishing Store was from a later review...
  3. I will definatly be adding the new police station to my collection since I own all the other City police stations to date except one (I am missing the 7237 Police Station but I have the 7744 Police Headquarters, 7498 Police Station, 4440 Forrest Police Station, 60047 Police Station, 60069 Swamp Police Station and 60130 Prison Island)
  4. If these existed I would buy the Gymnast, Town Crier, Crossing Guard, Harpist, Galactic Traveler, Southern Businessman, Lifesaver Guy, Skydiver Girl, Architect, Giraffe Suit Guy (I have a thing for Giraffes), Organ Grinder, Piper and Robotics Engineer from Series A. From series B I would buy the Holiday Elf Girl, Rodeo Clown, Cinephile, Paranormal Investigator, Lake Fisherman, Gondolier, Rapper Girl, Teacher and Referee. From Series C I would buy the banker, Green Boxer, Hipster (I think the shoulder bag would be even better is a new color like black than the tan you have shown it in), Country Music Singer, Crime Scene Investigator, Sensai, Kayaker, Ski Patrol and Toymaker. And from Series D I would buy the 80s girl, baker, porridge eater, galactic explorer, toy army man, cheerleader guy, toddler, sand boarder, Lawyer, Virtual Reality Gamer and Ice Cream Girl. Its a pitty 2 slots of 2017 are taken up by crappy Batman and NinjaGo figures rather than the good non-licensed CMFs :(
  5. As per usual for David Jones all the good stuff (Creator Export, Ferris Wheel etc) is excluded from the sale.
  6. I bought the Slimer pack to get the Slimer figure (although I was able to find someone interested in buying just the tags to help defray the cost)
  7. Its a road sign base. That part has a top stud that looks exactly like that. If you look at the inventory image someone posted earlier in the thread you can clearly see the set includes 1x road sign base in white.
  8. I can think of so many neat uses for that octagonal cross piece (even more if it ever existed in black)
  9. If TLG does what it has done in the past, you should be able to get the door frame from Bricks & Pieces in quantity. All the neat pieces from the Brick Bank are currently showing up as available through Bricks and Pieces for example (2 x 4 printed prize tile, printed stained glass window piece, printed laundromat window piece, unprinted Nexo Knights shield, black ornamental fence, sand green windows, sand green curved window tops, printed bank manager portrait, grey "gold bar" piece, the funky brick with the 4 studs on the side and most of the other interesting pieces). Same is true for the Detective's Office with most of the neat pieces currently available (wanted poster tile, black paint roller, dartboard tile, highlander printed window piece, ace brickman printed window piece, unikitty tail, the doors/1x2 plates/1x2 bricks in the light royal blue color and those fist pieces) I expect all the neat pieces from the Assembly Square will show up on Bricks & Pieces eventually (including probably everything on that clear baseplate in the designer video)
  10. After what I spent this year (Brick Bank, Ghostbusters HQ, Dr Who set, lots of City, Minifigures and more besides, not to mention all the loose pieces I picked up from Bricks & Pieces and elsewhere) I need to give my bank balance a chance to recover for all the cool stuff I will no doubt buy next year. Only things I plan to buy between now and new years are any really good deals (clearance pricing, 30% off deals, anything else worth jumping on), anything second-hand that shows up (e.g. someone offering stuff for sale at a Brisbricks club meeting that is worth buying and would otherwise be unobtainable) or anything that may happen at or for the Brisbricks xmas party (e.g. if there is another Secret Santa that I need to buy something for) If Ideas keeps putting out so many awesome things (Apollo rocket and Fishing Store are already on the wishlist and who knows what else 2017 will bring) my wallet is going to be drained even further :( At least there is nothing from the vast Disney empire that got me to pull out the wallet this year (the Helicarrier is neat but the GBHQ is much cooler and much better value for the same price :)
  11. We already got a petrol station this year so I wouldn't expect another one anytime soon.
  12. Anyone know why Jake in the team pack is bright light orange but the Jakemobile in the level pack is yellow? Which color is accurate to the show or are they both accurate?
  13. Does anyone know what hair is on the guys in this set? Looks to me like http://brickset.com/parts/design-62810 http://brickset.com/parts/design-3901 and http://brickset.com/parts/design-40240 (which I believe is new in black) but I cant work out what the hair is on the guy holding the green thing (not a Beatles fan as you can tell :) Anyone know what that hairpiece is?
  14. I would love to see a "bendy bus" too, those are cool. And to whoever suggested an Octan oil rig earlier in this thread, yes please.
  15. Even if Little House on the Prairie is popular with adults and stuff, its got none of the kid appeal that many of the other Ideas sets do. And even among adults, the overlap between Little House fans and LEGO fans is going to be a lot less than is the case for things like Big Bang Theory or Doctor Who. I predict Little House will get rejected for much the same reasons Golden Girls got rejected. In terms of items not yet in review but close to 10k, the boat repair shop (which has hit 10k) wont get approved because TLG are already doing the fishing shop by the same person (and this one is very similar). The Agents of Shield set wont get made because its too big (even in light of the fishing store) plus Marvel isn't doing any merchandising for the show AFAIK (only for whichever of the Marvel movies they want to promote) Hulkbuster UCS, they only recently did a Hulkbuster set and likely already have all their Marvel sets planned out for a while so I dont see this one being made. Vintage Tram has possibilities (I like it and would probably consider buying one). Venator Class Star Destroyer looks like its too big (looks Helicarrier sized if not bigger) and they already have their Star Wars stuff planned out so they probably wont do a Star Wars Ideas set unless its totally different to what they would normally do whilst still being possible under their license agreement. Diner looks neat (it looks to me like it has elements of Googie architecture as well as Art Deco and Streamline Moderne) I just dont see it having the wide appeal necessary to make an Ideas set work. Not sure Blues Brothers is popular enough with mainstream audiences to be suitable for a set. Same thing with Red Dwarf (nowhere near as popular as Doctor Who). Rey's speeder, again they have their own plans for UCS Star Wars sets and are unlikely to do something like this as an Ideas set.
  16. Of whats in the next batch, I am interested in Voltron, Modular Construction Site, the Lamborghini and Lovelace & Babbage. And maybe the Observatory.
  17. As for the next batch, Voltron makes sense if they can get the license and its not too big (I dont think there is anything TLG is doing or planning to do that it would conflict with). Spaceballs will never happen for license reasons. Addams Family Mansion is probably too big (it looks bigger than the Haunted House which was already fairly expensive). Merchant House may be too big or complex or need too many pieces (it looks bigger than the fishing shop) Large Hadron Collider just wont sell to anyone other than science geeks (things like the Mars Rover work because even non-geeks liked it and saw all the pictures of Mars on the news and stuff) Observatory may be too big and/or too niche a project to make sense. Modular Construction Site could work, it doesn't look like its that big and its an interesting subject matter with some play features (the crane and stuff). It may get rejected because TLG are doing more construction sets in their City line though and dont want this set to conflict with that. Women of NASA has a chance of getting approved, it could be done similarly to the Research Lab. Although they would likely need permission to use the names/likeness of the specific women they use (unlike movies where such permission is generally granted by the actors as part of doing the film) UCS Landspeeder just looks too big. They already have a relationship with Volkswagen to produce sets so a Lamborghini in Ideas (cool though it is) may not make sense. Also its big (bigger than the Caterham from the look of it and even bigger than other large size car sets TLG have made) plus they may see a Lamborghini being too much of a competitor to the Ferrari F40 set (in ways the Caterham definitely isn't) I think Lovelace and Babbage is cool but I am a computer geek and a fan of computing history. How many kids have even heard of them, let alone would be interested in a set like that? Little House on the Prairie has the problem of the license (for a TV show from the late 70s/early 80s that kids have probably never heard of and even many adults probably dont remember) and the size. The fishing shop made sense as it was a building that wasn't so big as to be unviable for Ideas plus it was something TLG would never make themselves in any regular line (not with building techniques like that), there is no license attached and it can probably be produced without a large number of new recolors or new prints.
  18. Great that the fishing shop got through and I want one. As for the other things, I suspect the fossil museum got rejected because of the size, difficulty of making it into a set, requirement for so many different parts and also the fact that they did a dinosaur skeleton in the Research Institute set. Gingerbread House probably got rejected because of the one they did previously or because they have their own plans for xmas/seasonal sets (gingerbread houses or otherwise) and they dont want to have this trying to fit in with those. Jedi High Council Chamber was just too big, same with the Jurassic Park Visitor Centre. Modular Train Station was also likely too big (its certainly bigger than the fishing store and possibly bigger even than a regular TLG modular). The particle accelerator has the problem of not being very appealing to kids plus the safety factor of having balls flying around that fast where they might fly off the track and hit someone. Plus the fact that (as far as I can tell) the only way to produce the track itself is to use 4.5v curved track parts which are long out of production and wont be comming back. BB8 has the magnet safety problem. And Johnny 5 might have had issues with licensing (i.e. TLG couldn't get the license for some reason) or it might have been too big or too difficult to make into a buildable set. Or TLG may have decided that it was too similar to the existing WALL-E set (which is still on the shelves/available)
  19. Picked up a Fili the Dwarf figure with this hair in medium dark flesh: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11908 I also picked up this hair in medium dark flesh: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24072 And I own this hair in medium dark flesh: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=92746 And this hair in medium dark flesh: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=10048 I am currently using this hair in tan: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=43753 Anyone want to nominate what hair piece would be the best for Rodger? The one I have now? One of the 4 I mentioned above? Something totally different?
  20. I found a parts listing for the neck fix kit in http://brickset.com/article/18057/how-to-get-the-wall•e-neck-fix-kit and will grab any of the parts I see when I am looking for loose parts today (the same LEGO event I won WALL-E at finishes today, there is a retailer with tubs of loose LEGO for sale and I have a $25 voucher to spend at said retailer :) There may be 3rd party designs out there but I want to build it with the official fix :)
  21. Does anyone have a parts listing for the neck fix kit?
  22. I recently acquired WALL-E (parts only as a mystery prize won at a LEGO event). The parts I have match with this set of instructions: http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/6146260.pdf Can anyone tell me if there are any fixes out there related to the head or neck (or any other part of the set) and if so where I can find the instructions for said fixes and a list of the parts I need for them? (due to how I acquired the set and where I suspect it came from I dont want to go asking TLG for fix kits or replacement parts) Up to step 108 and so far its been a very fun build :)
  23. I actually own a couple of the 2 x 2 round tiles in trans-clear shown earlier in the thread. Not 100% sure where they came from but my best guess is that they were produced for model builders at one of the parks. Very cool part and I use it in MOCs a lot :)
  24. I have zero interest in the Caterham, Adventure Time or Yellow Submarine sets but the Saturn 5 is right near the top of my wishlist.
  25. Thanks for the tip on the skateboarder hair, wouldn't have occurred to me to use it that way (I am using it in tan on a surfer dude but the black works well for a teenager of a certain sort) Parts I have found in my collection so far that work good for teenagers when matched with the right other parts (some of which have been mentioned above) Torso, legs and hair from the Series 6 Skater Girl. Hair and torso from the Series 16 Babysitter Torso and legs from the Series 13 Disco Diva Torso from the Series 4 Street Skater Torso and hair from the Series 1 Skater (the hairpiece only works for what I am going for in the black or possibly other dark colors though, not the lighter colors like dark orange or brown or tan) Torso and hair from the Series 8 DJ Torso and hair from the Series 12 Video Game Guy7 Mohawk hairpiece (in any color, wish I owned the ultra-rare lime green one) Torso from the Series 4 Punk Rocker Hair from the Series 7 Rocker Girl (maybe also the torso and legs) The torso with the green jacket over a white shirt with a necklace (as seen on the female in the 60117 Van & Caravan) The torso and legs from Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Magenta hair from Agent Caila Phoenix from the Ultra Agents sets. (the Dark Azure hair would work too with the right parts but unfortunately I dont own it) Torso from the midway gamer guy Torso from the Series 10 Trendsetter The space torso from the Fun in the Park set (mentioned above) works better for a kid than a teenager IMO and the one from the Series 2 pop star is just a little too "adult" for my taste.
