  1. Oh and there are unconfirmed reports that there will be no less than 30% off at MYER (including the exclusives) this weekend. Looks like the decision not to include the exclusives in the blanket 20% off for their toy sale was a stupid one for MYER...
  2. 20% off all LEGO (including the exclusives) at MYER right now if anyone is looking. Stock checker is working for the exclusives as well if anyone wants to find a local store with stock. MYER has had surprisingly good stock levels of the Brick Bank (seems like MYER and LEGO Australia have learned from past mistakes and imported a lot more stock)
  3. A tip if you want to display all the items on one page: When viewing the wanted list you should see a URL like this http://www.bricklink.com/wantedDetail.asp?showOld=Y&catType=P If you add &wantedSize=1000 to the end of that URL it will display 1000 items per page (instead of the default 50).
  4. Hogans Heroes will never happen because military.
  5. The exclusives (Brick Bank, Ferrari, Slave 1, Heartlake Hotel) are currently available on the MYER website for a flat 20% off (either for delivery or Click & Collect) for anyone that wants one and cant afford to buy 2 through the buy-2-get-1 offer. Also the "find in store" option seems to be working for all 4 sets so if you want to find one in your area for buy-2-get-1 or whatever. EDIT: The 20% off online offer is for today only so get in fast if you want it :)
  6. So looking at the top row of that image, I see: ? ? ? A-Team ? Sonic ? ET LEGO City Undercover Teen Titans GO! Can anyone identify the missing ? icons?
  7. Sounds like they aren't ruling out, say, a large-scale lunar lander in the vein of the 10029 Lunar Lander, just projects specifically based on the Apollo 11 Saturn 5 (and probably any large sized Saturn 5 project).
  8. Wesfarmers/Target have announced a plan to stop selling toys (including LEGO) as part of a restructure of the Target brand. With all the goings on in the marketplace as of late I think its getting less and less likely that we will get the frequent sales and discounts of the past, especially on the "good stuff" like Creator Expert and Star Wars UCS (MYER is having less broad %off sales and more sales that only cover portions of the LEGO range, Target hasn't had any decent sales in who knows how long, K-Mart is replacing LEGO with cheap crappy block sets and not discounting the LEGO as much below RRP as they used to and even David Jones has stopped including Creator Expert sets in their 20% off sales)
  9. IMO they should ban ideas from IPs LEGO is actively producing even without an Ideas set being made. So no more Star Wars ideas. And no more Marvel or DC ideas.
  10. In regards to the hair on Roger Daltry, I do have the same hair I used for Pete but in medium dark flesh. Would that work better for Roger than the current tan hair? Would it look out of place next to Pete?
  11. Dentist: Gender: Male Torso print: Medical scrubs/lab coat Headgear: either hair or one of those medical caps like the Surgeon CMF Facial expression: Surgical mask Legs: matching the torso Accessory: Maybe a toothbrush. Maybe a dental x-ray print tile. Maybe some sort of dental tool (its been so long since I actually set foot inside a dentists office that I cant even remember the sort of things they use...) Doctor: Gender: Female Torso print: White shirt with stethoscope print Headgear: Hair Facial expression: Happy face Legs: matching the torso Accessory: Otoscope (since a LEGO Sphygmomanometer isn't really possible) Factory Worker: Gender: Male Torso print: Light blue shirt with collar and pockets Headgear: Yellow hard-hat/ear protectors with black ear protectors Facial expression: Happy face with beard and safety glasses Legs: blue legs with jeans print. Accessory: Maybe a punch-card/time clock printed tile or maybe a "widget" of some sort (whatever it is that the factory makes)
  12. In regards to the bootlegs (that is, things that try to copy LEGO rather than legitimate clone brands that create their own original items) the main problem is that they are basically all made in China. And its essentially impossible for any western company to enforce their copyrights in China. So they cant go after the manufacturers. But what LEGO (and IP owners like Disney/Star Wars/Marvel, Warner Bros/DC etc) should be doing is going after listings on eBay, Amazon and other western sites that feature the fakes or bootlegs. A quick search on eBay (just as an example) shows all sorts of bootlegs for sale (e.g. at least one listing for a "lepin" Cafe Corner knockoff along with a massive number of listings for knock-off Marvel/DC figures). LEGO (and Disney/Warner Bros/etc) could work with eBay through the eBay VERO program such that these listings could be flagged (by LEGO or by people in the community) and could then be taken down. They could also get information from eBay etc and sue the sellers in court. And they could work with appropriate agencies in different countries to go after (and shut down/sue the owners of/etc) physical retail stores that sell these bootlegs (I have seen such stores with my own eyes at shopping centers in my area but I have no clue if there is even a way to report such things)
  13. Here is my WIP of the Who setup so far: The amplifier tiles are pad-printed tiles from citizen brick. The bass drum "Who" logos are custom stickers printed by me. The drumsticks are from BrickForge. Everything else is genuine LEGO. Any feedback on what I can do to make this better (i.e. make it look more like the actual band as they were in their heyday) would be appreciated.
  14. I dont have that hairpiece so I cant use it :) (and I cant justify paying the going rate for that hairpiece or for the fig that has it) Will swap the hair I have on Pete (the blonde hair) with the hair I have on Roger (the dark brown hair) and that should work better. Unless someone knows of a better (and common enough to be obtainable easily) hairpiece for Roger than the blonde hair I linked above (its from the NinjaGo Lloyd figure I believe)
  15. I am in the process of re-creating iconic British rock band "The Who" in LEGO. Here are the parts I have picked so far: John Entwhistle: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=88283 in black for the hair http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb1495 for the head http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb1392c01 with yellow hands for the torso Dark Blue legs http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=17356pb01 for his guitar Rodger Daltry: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=10048 in dark brown for the hair http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb0121 for the head Torso from http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=gb009 with yellow hands for the torso (yes its got a patch of skin visible but so what :) Tan legs Pete Townshend: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=43753 in tan for the hair http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb0121 for the head http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0467c01 with yellow hands for the torso Dark Blue legs http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11640pb03 for his guitar Kieth Moon: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=62810 in dark brown for the hair http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb1286 for the head http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973ps4c01 for the torso Black legs Any other Who fans out there want to nominate other options that would work better? (not interested in custom printed/stickered parts though)
  16. Can someone who owns both tell me if the torso on Venkman in the dimensions pack matches the one in the Ecto-1 Ideas set or not? I know the arms have printing in the Dimensions pack but is the actual torso the same or not?
  17. Doesn't Mega Blocks have the license for Warcraft stuff?
  18. Have we seen the physical figures for Sonic yet?
  19. Looney Tunes would be awesome, too bad its one franchise that could never have the original voice acting (because Mel Blanc is sadly no longer with us)
  20. My 2 favorites have to be the Ecto-1 (Ghostbusters is one of my favorite movies, the model is so well designed and as a bonus the guy who designed it is a member of my LUG) and the Exo-Suit (Classic Space is awesome and its totally different to anything TLG have done before plus its full of neat parts, not to mention the green Classic Space guys and for the first time ever, green airtanks)
  21. The fender pieces aren't new, they first appeared in dark green in a Star Wars Slave-1 set in 2010. They are new in that color though :) Not interested in this set even now that I have seen the pictures. Just doesn't do it for me...
  22. It all depends on how close the Ideas proposal is to a releasable set. Something like the Ecto-1 or the Research Institute was fairly close to a releasable set whereas the Exo-Suit was a lot further away from releasable.
  23. I suspect if we got Looney Tunes in LEGO it would be more likely to be from The Looney Tunes Show or whatever other modern cartoons Warner are using the characters in these days.
  24. I cant remember where I saw it but someone said something about how its ironic that the best game to feature Sonic the Hedgehog in quite a while is actually a Mario game (Super Mario Maker with a Sonic the Hedgehog Mystery Mushroom costume in it)
  25. Considering how well LEGO did with this guy http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=44209 I see no reason why LEGO wouldn't make a new torso (at least) if they do decide to include minifigs.
