Ooh, good, another police station in 2017. LEGO police stations (including the nice prison we got this year) are always good parts packs :) And I can always use more cops (says the guy who owns every City police station except one and many other police sets besides :)

Yeah Bricks & Pieces is a great way to obtain parts like that. In previous orders from Bricks & Pieces I picked up the printed 2 x 2 space shuttle blueprints tile from the big space launch pad (among other rare/neat parts) and in my next order I intend to pick up the hazmat suit parts along with the big red tail from the air show stunt jet, the new pilot torso from the cargo plane and a bunch more besides. Just need the money :) Oh and the hazmat suit guy is also in the 60125 Volcano Heavy Lift Helicopter (which is a retailer exclusive set I believe)

I would be interested in the Lamborghini but I doubt it would pass review.

Question about brick from upcoming SW Advent Calendar
jonwil replied to Kalais's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I bet a http://www.bricklink...tem.page?P=4733 is what's holding it all together. More specifically the dark tan parts at the front of the slopes are probably 1 x 1 plates with the other end of the 1 x 3 slopes (where the studs are) and 1 x 3 tile attaches to the 1 x 1 with studs on all sides. Then something (not sure what) underneath the 1 x 2 slope & binoculars combo takes one of the other studs on the 1 x 1 with studs on all sides. -

Marvel sets are listed in the catalog so they should be hitting Oz sometime this month. However, its been confirmed by TLG that the new Bionicle sets for the second half of this year are NOT going to come to Australia. Bionicle is also ending as of this year (so no new sets in 2017) -
For a "fun at the beach" set they could make a new mold for a bodyboard. And maybe also a small spade to go with the bucket mold to make a bucket-and-spade for the kids to play with. Plenty of scope for awesome new prints and minifigs in such a set too (bathers, bikinis, boardshorts, Hawaiian Shirts, beach umbrella, new lifeguard printing, new surfboard printing, new print heads with sunglasses and more). And for builds you could have a lifeguard chair (with equipment including a red suitcase with "first aid kit" printing and that float piece from the CMF line) and an ice-cream cart (since ice-cream and a day at the beach go together so well). Plus kids building a sandcastle. So much possibility for an awesome set (although I guess the question is whether kids in many parts of Europe or North America would be able to identify with such a set since they probably haven't seen a proper beach outside of TV shows like Baywatch)

The best way to ensure we as AFOLs get more cool sets like this is to buy the Fun in the Park set and make it a hot seller for TLG so they see the demand is there and make more of the same. I for one intend to buy a copy as soon as I can afford one (either from Shop @ Home as part of my next order or from local retail if/when it shows up here in Australia)

I am potentially going to buy the Sonic pack to get the Sonic minifig and (depending on price) the Ghostbusters story pack for the cool parts (I have someone who may be interested in buying the toy tags off me so that would help subsidize the cost)

LEGO Dimensions Physical Brick Discussion
jonwil replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in LEGO Licensed
The One Ring would have been far too small given the relative size of Sonic and the Rings in every game/cartoon/etc that they have been in. I do agree that it should have been made in a gold color rather than the yellow.- 527 replies

I dont have the game (or even a console to play it on) but I want that Sonic minifig for my collection. It just looks awesome.

I suspect ultimately that kids would rather have a http://brickset.com/sets/70312-1/Lance-s-Mecha-Horse than a http://brickset.com/sets/70401-1/Gold-Getaway for the same price. And they would rather have a http://brickset.com/sets/70317-1/The-Fortrex than a http://brickset.com/sets/70404-1/King-s-Castle for the same price.

Of the items on the "most supported" list, I would potentially buy the Lamborghini, the computer thing, maybe the Tram (although I am not a huge fan of the color scheme), the boat repair shop, the Bluesmobile, the Arcade Machines (depending on exactly what games ended up being included) and the LEGO store. The Agents of Shield airplane is amazing but its far too large to ever be a viable set.

With the level of discounting going on at MYER as of late as well as the Toys R Us buy-2-get-1-50% on selected themes and even Big W with the current 20% off I dont think its been that hard to find LEGO at a reasonable discount. Yes it sucks if you want a Target-exclusive set like the City Crooks Island, Friends Bumper Cars, UCS Hoth, Batcave or UCS Tie Fighter but there are plenty of other LEGO items (and toys more generally) you can get at a nice discount if you really want :) I note that their pricing on all the large stuff (airport, volcano base, air show, service station) is bang on 20% off RRP. No sign of the City People Pack though :( (whether that means K-Mart isn't selling it or just hasn't listed it yet I dont know) -
Green Arrow has been released by Target Australia as an exclusive bonus offer with starter packs (i.e. buy a starter pack from Target and get a bonus Green Arrow) so that confirms that Green Arrow at least is not going to be limited/exclusive to cons or whatever.

Target isn't having a sale this year, they have switched from having toy sales to having lower-than-RRP everyday prices (probably because they weren't moving much toy product unless there was a sale) -
So with this reveal we now know all 3 Adventure Time sets listed in the original leak, right?
-
The curved arch windows dont have glass in them, no. The 1 x 2 x 3 windows do however have glass.
-
In regards to the release date, it may be timed to match up with when new episodes of the cartoon are going to be aired...
-
What movie does the chest with the hair brush and scissors represent? Tangled?
-
The set looks good but as someone who isn't a fan of the show, I think I can pass on it :) Definitely weird that they revealed it so far in advance (and I do wonder why they are delaying it to January if its finished now)
-
That assumes Marvel has changed its attitude and will allow LEGO to produce Fantastic 4 products (as of right now Marvel doesn't allow toy companies to make X-Men or Fantastic 4 products because that just helps Fox)

Finally added this beauty to my collection the other day (thanks to a REALLY good sale :) and I love it. Great build, neat build techniques (now I need to find a reason to use a typewriter in a MOC :) and a very fun build. I actually recon its equal with the Detective's Office as the best modular yet. Not to mention all the awesome parts like the black ornate fences, black 2 x 2 round plate with arms, gold coins/bar, dark tan 1 x 1 tile, light bley "gold bar" pieces, Nexo Knights shield pieces, perl gold 1 x 1 brick with fancy scroll thing, printed portrait tile, sand green arched window pieces, printed glass laundromat piece, printed cheque piece and the cool minifigs (the people who run this bank must have a far looser dress code than any bank I have ever seen judging by what the "bank teller" is wearing)
-
I also got the same torso (not backwards though) in my copy of the Brick Bank. As fatsomnia said, its likely LEGO are simply updating the design of the part (I recon the new design looks good and want some more)
-
I for one intend to go see the movie when it opens on Thursday and I am a huge Ghostbusters fan.
-
Added my support to that one too (even if TLG won't be doing a modular (or other larger building like that fishing shop) through Ideas anytime soon.
