  1. While I agree (especially about keeping diffs in the model), he already explained this is the best he could do. Can't expect everybody to have good skills at body design. He took some of the advice and made air intakes under the doors, but in the end it's his choice and his car. Let the people who vote in the contest decide where it ends up.
  2. Awesome, I was just using this yesterday to find some wheels that would fit my MOC for TC6 a little better (seriously hope I manage to finish it in time) and now it is even better. Great work Sariel!
  3. Ok... that 42043 is really freaking awesome!!!! It ticks pretty much every box people wanted to see in that set lol. Job well done Lego!
  4. To be honest, while I love the model, I can't justify giving the most points to a Lego Technic contest entry of which the gearbox only works 50% of the time. So I gave Jeroen a suggestion in PM which will hopefully help his gearbox.
  5. Pictures seem to be working fine now, perhaps the server that hosts them was down briefly.
  6. I hope you don't find this offensive, but I'd put some more work in the body of the car. Right now I don't recognize this as a "Lambo", just as a nice Lego car. I think the angles in your car are a bit sharp. For example, your doors, this is the real thing: Curved doors with air intakes under them. Mind you, I am no master of body work, so I am not claiming I'd do a better job, just a suggestion for your entry. Either way good luck in the contest
  7. "We were all"? I think if Dokludi's replica (awesome work btw!) is close to the image as people say it is, then I think it's a pretty solid set. Only that missing row on the grill... but that's a minor gripe and easily fixed as some LDD files here already show. 10 more days until we see it at Nuremberg?
  8. Going by that (and how the ball part shines in your video), I assume it is actually this part And not the one from the Belville set Paul Boratko linked which really only came in that set it seems. I ordered a bunch (and a few of the Belville as well for when I don't want stuff to shine )
  9. I think 2 or 3. I thought that was the intend as well to have a remote controlled gearbox since you even mentioned the 8043 gearbox as an example and the gearbox stuff wasn't listed at manual functions, but since Omikron already linked a reply from Blakbird I suppose it is fine. Either way sorry for missing Blakbird's response.
  10. Feel free to burn me for this question, but I was wondering after seeing some entries whether it is allowed that the gearbox is manual? I just assumed it had to be remote controlled as well, but I am not sure from reading the rules. Sorry if it has been asked before, I read all of this topic the past few weeks, but don't remember it all :D It doesn't matter for my entry, it's going to have a rc gearbox, just wondered for others.
  11. I have been wondering if there was a part that could be used for that hole of the knob gears to link it to other stuff, that microphone seems to be it lol. Great find! I might have to get some of these microphones, because I am messing around with knob gears as well and this might save me some space/looks cleaner.
  12. Just remember one good thing that came from the refurbished 42039: 19L white soft axles! For that alone the thing deserves more love than it is getting at the moment imo :) As for the 42043, is the stuff usually shown at Nuremberg? If so, that's about 2 weeks away? Built something for TC6 and time will fly ;)
  13.  Unless you mean a simple photo collection of building an entry, I'd say keep on wishful thinking If you didn't mean that and would like a detailed pdf of instructions, then let's consider the amount of time regular and experienced instruction creators spend on making them, like Jurgen, Sheepo and others. And then you expect everybody who would like to enter a contest to make instructions? People who have never even used the software before? If you want a handful of people to enter each contest, then that would be the way to go. And considering the sheer size of some of the entries you might as well double up the contest timeframe too, since experienced instruction creators all say half of the time of a model is spend on making instructions. Not even bonus points imo, this is a Lego building contest. Would be an unfair advantage to anybody who can easily work with the software and has the time to do it. If people do want to see this, I'd say: make it a new contest on itself: Build something and provide instructions, where we'd also judge instructions for each entry.
  14. It's already been said, but Jim already said a dismantled Lego spring is allowed., but I just want to state (much like the post quoted in Jim's post) that there is a clear difference between modifying a part and dismantling it. A modified part can't be turned back to its original state. A simple example: some of the reinforced Lego diffs people use in their MOCs. A dismantled spring can always be returned to its original state by simply putting it back together. Therefore: a dismantled part is not the same as a modified part. So good luck Piterx with your dismantled springs!
  15. Thirded, really awesome car, great work getting the lines of the model and I like the chrome touches. I also like the use of the panels on the engine cover to mimic that aggressive Aventador look. Instantly recognisable as a Lambo
  16. I managed to find the booklet in my pile of old books: Doesn't seem to have a number for the model. Edit: Nvm, reply above provides plenty of info and I should get a new mousepad. I don't even have a Dell anymore...
  17. No, from the Creator line if I remember correctly.
  18. This makes me very... VERY happy!
  19. I know right It's a good thing my model started before this contest was announced too or I wouldn't bother
  20. I believe the bar has been set for this competition Great lines and I like the little italian flag touch. I like the red soft axles also, because you continued the red line under the doors and bumpers. Hope you get the gearbox sorted!
  21. Considering the mass production of orange parts for 1H sets, I wouldn't be surprised if that Mercedes did end up orange. Which is fine with me
  22. Define small? I am actually thinking about a little car that also has to meet this criteria (AWD and front suspension, though mine doesn't have to be with wishbones) and now I am wondering if I am not thinking small enough or setting myself up for mission impossible
  23. Very cool looking model. Nice colours. I like the details on the engine and the exhausts and how you hide alot of stuff behind the body work (like those 2 XL motors).
  24. Oh wow, I was wondering how the rules would be for this contest, but it seems to line up perfectly with what I intended to build in the first place. I bought alot of PF stuff lately to make a MOC with it. Considering my Sbrick should arrive any day (hopefully), I wanted to make a model that used 2 IR recievers (for the purist in me ) and 4 motors and have the possibility of replacing it with a Sbrick. I am not sure at the moment if I can even manage the model with all the functions and scale (especially scale is going to bite me probably) I have in mind, but it's not the first time I had that challenge At least I don't have to worry about a part limit and having the option for a gearbox is very nice since I might need it. Cool contest
  25. Scored a 42028 new from toysrus.nl for 19,98 euro and a 42025 for 79,98 euro
