  1. I never actually noticed this on my model until you now pointed it out lol. Maybe I have a slightly less "brighter than Lego white" hose than you, but the difference isn't as big here. I might be biased, but I don't find it as offensive as you make it seem. If I'd nag about this I might as well nag about the differences in colours of blue on Lego produced parts also in my model. Transparant on the other hand is worse imo, difference really shows in the light, I had to replace those. Anyway thanks for testing them, guess your next model is going to be DBG?
  2. Since when have people in MOCs ever stopped using a Lego part because it was not its "intended" use? I find it far more interesting if people come up with a new purpose for a Lego piece. An example: I have seen people use the leg part of a minifig to make up a part of the wall on a modular. Intended use? Nope. Creative and lovely to look at? Yup.
  3. I don't remember what position I had the black cams in before placing it, might have been slightly upwards to the right (5th gear). Considering that's where you want it go while using the model, it shouldn't be a problem. And yes the rubber axle connector between the pins is correct. It's to give a little bit of leeway for the liftarm in which that 8T gear goes to move.
  4. Yeah, that one was a tight fit I had to double check if it was really supposed to go in that hole above the 2 yellow half bushes, but it does. The friction on that part is on purpose to stay in the selected gear, but it shouldn't strain the servo, might happen a few times, but not most of the time. Also about your other question, about seeing which speed is what, check Sheepo's video, he placed some stickers on the liftarms. Basically the left (closest to the driver) is first and reverse, middle is 2 and 3, on the right is 4 and 5.
  5. I had the gearbox raise once when I was messing around with the 1L technic bricks on the liftarms on top, because my first gear wouldn't play nice when another gear was engaged. Messing around with that also strained the servo motor, so could possibly be that something is blocking there or doesn't have enough room to move. All axles can move freely? Other than that I don't know, I assume the servo has been set up properly with an IR reciever and a battery box before hooking it up in the model?
  6. I was going to post this in a few weeks in the proper Mustang topic when I get a few more parts (it is still missing some parts of the left door and some other little pieces that I missed in my bricklink orders), but I might as well show a little now (and more in a few weeks). When I wanted to built the Mustang, the connectors mentioned above were already 2-3 euro a piece, since I wasn't going to pay 80-120 euro for 1 type of part (not to mention the 14L red flex axles) I looked for alternatives. My first idea was to make a black Mustang, but I dismissed that since 19L black flex axles weren't as available either (only used in "The Mission" set I think) and I didn't like the fact the wheels would be black, exterior black, white stripe and if I didn't alter the colour of the chassis, that being black too. I then looked at building the Mustang in white, but was shot down early due to some flex axles simply not existing in white. I looked at rigid hose options too for all colour schemes I came up with, but some lengths weren't available, meaning I would had to cut up hoses. I didn't want to do that, the only piece of Lego I used to cut up in the old days were... pneumatic tubes! Loving the idea of the white mustang I had in my head I found a shop that had pneumatic tubing in white which I thought was original Lego tubing. I thought the Lego 9641 set had white tubing, but it's super light gray. I already ordered them when I found out, but when I recieved it, it was the exact same stuff as Lego, same thickness, same feel, same looks only it was white instead of the default blue, black or gray. This allowed me to built the Mustang in white. It's firm and stays in place as long as you don't touch it The black flex axles at the front are still 11L flex axles, didn't change those for tubing. For the blue hoses I wanted to use pneumatic tubing, for the added thickness, but the blue hose I ordered at the same shop as the white one, was a little transparant. Not looking like pure Lego I dismissed them for this model (will probably use them for some pneumatic stuff). I then used 3 11L rigid hoses, which look very well imo. So I'd say as long as it looks like real Lego pneumatic tubing, go for it. It gives alot of room for more colour combinations than you ever could come up with only flex axles. And with more colour options available stuff like the 2-3 euro connector might not get caught in the crossfire of the flex axle price hike. Also Sheepo, thank you very much for this awesome model, it was a great joy to build. Also thank you Jurgen for making the instructions with you.I can't wait to see your new model!
  7. Thanks :) Been lurking a while, but figured I might as well make an account considering I wanted to share my Sheepo Mustang with you guys once the parts come in (in different colours). Then I saw this topic, so similar to me, I just had to reply. I still have some plans for my Crawler, but because I keep buying more sets those plans have been delayed quite a few times :D
  8. Haha, the OP sounds like me. Only for me it was an awesome deal on this cool set back in september 2013. Since then I have spend quite a bit of money on Lego again and got my old Lego out of storage :) Here's my 9398 I modded the back with a bricklink order to something that suits the rest of the model without the use of stickers. I came across this look on the techlug.fr forum and knew right away that was how I wanted to fix the back.
