  1. This. I know it works fine, I don't have to test it. But besides maybe having to find another way to link your steering, it seems you have plenty of space to fix this little bit of stress on the springs, so why not fix it? I don't care that the original hummer has the same method, I wouldn't want the stress on the parts. Of course it is up to you, it isn't my Lego, but considering you're building one of the heaviest models, I'd be more careful than usual with unnecessary stress on suspension parts.
  2. I don't know how to explain it more Look at the 9.5L spring, notice it is thicker than 1 stud in the middle of the thing, due to the spring. I can see it in your images that the steering arms are forcing the springs against the plastic of the springs. That shouldn't happen.
  3. I don't think it is about that. Rather the fact that the springs are wider than 1 stud around the spring part and you jammed them into 3L and 5L thin liftarms at the top while your liftarms for attaching the wheels to the chassis are 1L and 3L wide, meaning both springs are bending half a stud.
  4. Hmm pending the rules maybe one of my PF ideas can enter the next competition then.
  5. Congrats all, especially the number 1, awesome model. Thanks everybody who voted for mine
  6. Sorry this took a while, but now I have alot (ALOT! ) photos for you guys showing pretty much everything (I hope). If you think some photos are too bright, you are correct. It is to show the black parts better. Sorry some pictures aren't as sharp as I'd like, but they still serve their purpose I think. If you wonder why some things changed compared to the pictures I posted back in June: I made some minor tweaks and also adjusted some stuff since I needed certain parts in other MOCs The pictures show the "mini assembly" of parts first and then a few pics follow which shows where each piece goes and how. If you have any questions after this wave of pictures, feel free to ask them. Enjoy your build!
  7. Here are my points 9: 10 40: 6 33: 4 36: 3 21: 2 15: 1 Great models all around, good job everybody.
  8. Haha, since I was considering a motorized truck I was looking into doing it with mLA's too! Looks like you're saving me some work :)
  9. Matelegotechnic seems to be asking for instructions in alot of topics and just that... Anyway as pointed out, there are no instructions, but considering this model is easily taken apart in sections of parts I could make a few pictures of that since I still have the model on my shelf. Let me know if you (or others) would like that.
  10. Wow... glorious! So many functions and options for more functions. Really awesome. Great work.
  11. Thanks Efferman. Looks like I will have another spare servo motor soon :)
  12. Thanks Sariel and Jangbricks for the reviews. Alot of fun sets to get imo.
  13. Great little delivery truck and only from the 42008 no less. I might steal your tail lift mechanism for a truck I had in mind :)
  14. Thanks everybody for the very nice comments. Perhaps I should try if it floats ;)
  15. Awesome details, I like the amount of details you put in the chassis alot. Especially considering that stuff is pretty much hidden from view.
  16. 38. Mississippi Powerboat Made from 42026 and 42007: Functions: - Pullback motor - 2 cylinder fake engine - Moving "cloud of smoke" from the exhaust pipe - Bow can act as a little bumper thanks to the springs Couple of images, more can be found in the discussion topic linked below: 22 parts left over of the 401 provided by the sets: Little video demonstrating the model: Link to my topic.
  17. Here's my creation for the C-Model contest: Made from set 42026 and 42007 Inspired by the "side wheeler riverboats" of old found on the Mississippi river, I made this boat. If they had powerboats in the 1800's on the Mississippi river, I think this is what it would have looked like A grand total of 401 parts (including spare parts) to play with this is the result: Since I had some parts left over I added some details on top of the fake 2 cylinder engine. To utilize the springs I decided to make a little "bumper" out of the bow of the boat. Nobody likes their Lego crashing into walls after all, so this softens the blow a little. I think this is the first model I made where I didn't have enough black pins (as if any AFOL doesn't have enough of those ), luckily both sets provide plenty of blue 3L pins, but to not ruin the look of the model I tried to hide these as much as possible in the bottom of the boat. The "cloud of smoke" coming out of the exhaust pipe can move up and down. The "side paddler" wheels are attached to the mechanism that lowers and raises the "cloud of smoke". I also made a (very) short video demonstrating the model: In the end I had 22 parts (including the spare parts the sets provide) left over: Hope you guys like it and had a little laugh like I did making and playing with this
  18. I actually had a similar idea with this set a few weeks ago. And with that I mean the idea of switching the BB switch when it bumps into a wall, but I abandoned it because I'd have to buy the set pretty much and I couldn't think of a way to "dress up" the concept. Dressing it up as road roller is awesome though.
  19. This. The model looks awesome until I saw the rear. That rocket engine looks out of place to me. I would have presented it as an add-on or put it somewhere else at the rear.
  20. Well, I finally got around to buying the sets I wanted to use for this contest. I just hope the idea I have in my head works with the parts available and that I can finish in time before monday To give a hint, it uses the 42026 and 42007 and I will be using all 6 wheels So many great models in this contest already and growing most likely in the next few days, but as always I'll be having a blast building something
  21. Really awesome model. Love the sun reflectors in the cabin. I remember making those for my 8865 back in the day. I just bought a second 42009 to build the B-model, use as parts and most likey build this too.
  22. Really cool how you made this and congrats on being in the Hall of Fame with this awesome model.
  23. Great model. I really like how you combined the colours. Yellow knob gear at the front window.
  24. Would it fit to have the big cylinders turn 90 degrees inward in the picture you made in the first post so the outlets face the grill? Outwards probably creates problems with the mini pumps? I still think the mounting point in the first picture looks the best, but I understand the tubes would then touch the tracks. You'd have to think of a different way to mount the cylinders besides the grill while keeping them in the same place as your first picture. I also think the tubing would look pretty nice with some tubes coming out of the chassis besides the grill. Looking at you last picture, seems like there is plenty of space to lower the switches. I see 4 studs of space. That's 1 more stud than I had in my wheel loader and I had to consider a driveshaft running through the middle too :D
  25. Looks very nice, I like the place you hid the handpump. I agree, also if possible I would try to lower the switches one stud so the cabin looks clean.
