  1. I got two 42050 drag racers for about €80. Considering the MSRP of a single drag racer is €70, I think it's quite a good deal. I bought them primarily as parts packs (especially the Tumbler wheels).
  2. Luckily I do But, I'm going to wait for a better price. I'm sure there will be higher sales when the set gets a little older. Btw, the previously mentioned Brickshop charges 'only' €23,95 for shipping to France.
  3. Wow, I completely missed this topic all the time. I think I confused it with the other general Porsche MOD topic (which I stopped reading a while ago since I don't have the Porsche yet). Anyway... I'm still in doubt about the Porsche. It's a ton of money for a Lego Technic set (that feels like 80% bodywork instead of features to me). I'll probably wait for a good sale. But, all your mods and improvements sure look great Didumos and it makes the Porsche look way more interesting than the standard set. I'll keep this topic in mind when I eventually get the set. Nice work!
  4. Is it worth getting 4 Tumbler tires (by buying 2 discounted copies of 42050?) or are those tires just 'meh'? Any opinions?
  5. Will those new products replace the current sBrick or accompany the current sBrick ('accessoires')?
  6. Yea, it was the first thing asked and it's still nowhere to be found
  7. Note that users with less than 10 posts can't use the PM system as far as I know. Admin's can remove that limit on user by user basis though.
  8. Maybe you could take some inspiration from set 8294, which has a (mostly) 3 wide arm
  9. Finally. I thought I'd never meet someone with the same... attitude... as me
  10. I always like the sorting process very much, for me it's very relaxing and satisfying to sort parts. Together with some music, I really enjoy the sorting and organizing. But that's just me being me
  11. Haha, I expected Acrobat, because the compression of the images looked quite like when I compressed an instruction pdf a while ago using Acrobat I don't really have another suggestion. The file size is that big, because there's just a huge amount of images. I mean, you have 390 pages. If there would only be 2 images a page, it would have almost 800 images. However, there are many more, so it's really a few kilobyte per image. It's just that there are so many... The compression is indeed a way to reduce the filesize, but you're also reducing the quality. I don't know if it's a problem for a lot of people, but I instantly noticed it (don't get me wrong, it's not a real 'problem' for me either, just a... minor annoyance ). You could also play a bit with LPub's DPI setting. Around 150 looks quite good with a reasonable filesize. Lower DPI means lower quality but also lower size. A little warning though: when changing the DPI, it's very, very, very likely your LPub layout is screwed up a bit. You might have to change the front sizes to something bigger or smaller (because the DPI changed). I usually set my desired DPI at the very, very beginning before doing anything else in LPub. Other than that, you can also just split the pdf or put in a zip file (although the .7z format seems to compress a pdf a little better than the .zip format).
  12. Well, probably theoretically yes. But when I used a Bluetooth controller through my phone with an sBrick controlling a car, I had zero 'lag' problems and was able to drive the car perfectly fine. I didn't test anything or whatever though, just driving around
  13. If that's the reason you would like to be able to directly connect controllers without a smartphone in between, it doesn't matter if there's a smartphone in between right? You're still using the controller (with physical feedback). You can just as easily connect a controller to a smartphone and then control an sBrick (with your physical controller feedback).
  14. I'm glad you were able to finish the instructions. Looks very good, especially for a first time Only the quality of the images looks a bit weird ('bad'). It doesn't look like it's a low DPI, it looks more like you've compressed it or something like that. Did you modify/resize the pdf or something? According to Rebrickable I have almost 90%, I'm missing mainly blue parts (and a ton of 32017 ).
  15. Regarding LDD Manager: I don't really have an idea. However, I do know that you can upload/import an LDD file (among other formats) to Rebrickable into a 'private MOC'. You then can export it again into a variety of formats including Bricklink wanted list. I don't know how accurate Rebrickable's import is, but you could try
  16. Or make a Lego related game I don't have a Lego room either, but I just occupied a corner of the attic with my 'dedicated' Lego desk and stuff.
  17. Yes, that surely makes sense, because I think that's close to what I meant earlier. However, as I said earlier, if it would be possible to directly connect a controller to the BuWizz, it would be fairly hard-coded as to what does what. That's not really useful. Another thing: what exactly is this discussion about now? Where is it heading? It gets a bit confusing as to what point everyone is actually trying to make now
  18. I don't really understand you there. If it's possible to connect a smartphone to the BuWizz (which is the case), it's surely possible to connect a controller to the smartphone to control the BuWizz (aside from the app support of course). Just like with sBrick. You don't really need 'hardware support' to directly connect a controller. Or do you mean something else?
  19. There'll probably be a billion 'problems' when you connect a controller without the smartphone in between. I mean, how would it know which button has to move which motor? How fast? Is it a servo motor? etc. etc.
  20. I could maybe also help you to make some real building instructions
  21. I don't think you need a very good computer to run LPub3D. Especially with all the speed improvements from the latest version(s). Also, I believe there might come a Mac and Linux version in the (near) future after all bugs and problems are ironed out of latest (big update) version 2.
  22. It should be possible to resize using the black square. Maybe try dragging it multiple times, I remember that it sometimes looked like it was doing nothing, while I just had to resize it multiple times before I started to notice big changes. Otherwise, you can try to do it manually editing the height in this command: !LPUB BOM CONSTRAIN LOCAL HEIGHT 8.00000 That being said, LPub3D has a lot of BOM improvements, including the ability to spread the BOM over multiple pages. Maybe you can take a look at that?
  23. What are the two black squares on the Kuipers and Madoca blocks?
  24. You remember my photos about my setup with all the drawers? Well, a few years ago 4 of those cabinets were of another type. Instead of the 'normal' drawers, they had the type of drawers you linked too. I got kinda annoyed by them, they were bulky, it wasn't easy to sort in them (they are big) and because the front is lower then the rest if the drawer, it's difficult to use all the space that the drawer has. I sold them and bought 4 of those instead and it works like a charm. I also bought one of these to store the pins in the dark-grey drawers. Because A: I got a ton of pins and they fit well in such a huge drawer and B: because it's easy access with the open front and when building Technic (which I do 99% of the time), you constantly need pins. Having said that. It also depends on your sorting and organizing level. I personally like to sort everything by type and color. So that means I need a lot of drawers (which can be subdivided into multiple compartments). If you're sorting less detailed (for example only by part type and not color), the type you linked to becomes more appropriate, because you can just dump a pile of beams or bricks in them. I guess you want to buy a rack like this to hang them? Because just stacking them is... living on the edge
  25. Right-click on the callout and then 'No parts list per callout'. At least, that's what it says in the newest LPub3D 2.0.3. I believe it said something like 'No parts list per step' in older versions.
