  1. I can't really help you with LDD, other users are far more experienced than me with that. I mainly use LDraw, especially LDCad. If you're coming from SolidWorks, LDCad might 'feel' better. Although, as said before, it has a higher learning curve than LDD, it does have a lot more options, possibilities and features. And the author is active too. Aside from that, LDraw is often used for 'proper' instructions, often a combination of a CAD program (such as LDCad) and LPub3D. But, for LDD there's a relative new instructions program too, BluePrint. But again, I don't have any experience with that one, so I can't give you any advice or help with that.
  2. I tried to make a 'large' ventilator a while back. It was a hot day, the real ventilator was broken and in about 30 minutes I tried to make a Lego one. It failed miserably. The paper blades where just not strong enough and because of the big contruction that was spinning around very fast, the whole construction wobbled like crazy. A bit off topic: @LXF: that keyboard looks sooo confusing
  3. FYI: the inventory is up at Rebrickable
  4. I know, but the parts list lists the element ID, the design ID is written on the part itself (really tiny). It's not a must, the info is probably released by Lego when the set is released, but if you could spot it now, it would be nice
  5. Sariel, could you maybe spot the design id on the new handpump (this for making the Rebrickable parts list complete)
  6. Probably has something to do with the engine. Volvo equipment often/always (?) has green engines. The previous Volvo set (the wheel loader) also had a green engine (although with proper engine parts instead of just a beam).
  7. 4 links are a little shorter than a 1x4 plate, 9 links are about the length of a 1x8 plate and you need 8 links for 1 gear of the type I used in the example (or actually 8 for the halve of course). Hopefully that gives a bit of an idea of how many you need...
  8. Wow, I never realized that you could build 30 different trains with that set
  9. I just noticed that your review contains a little error. At 3:42 you state that part 6536 is new in lime, but it isn't at all
  10. Thanks Sariel! They look like they can be a reasonable replacement for the PP wheels on Jurgen's Backhoe
  11. Sariel, I always enjoy your video reviews. Very nice! Looking forward to the Volvo I have one question: could you make a comparison photo (front and side) with a Claas wheel and a PowerPuller wheel?
  12. That looks quite nice actually! Brilliant idea
  13. I happend to have 8284 and 8274, I'm really considering building these when I order my Claas and make a small Diorama. I'm sure they'll look really nice together (although the Claas probably looks a bit more modern)
  14. I wondering yesterday if these tires are a fitting replacement for the PP wheels on Jurgen's Backhoe
  15. Don't forget that my image above is just an example. You can use bigger or smaller gears, add more of the large chain parts to attach more objects etc. etc. It's Lego after all
  16. It does sound like a graphics driver issue, but than again, there are 1001 things that could be the problem so I'm like 1% sure . First off, try uninstalling and reinstalling LDD and see if it works. If it doesn't work, use this tool to completely remove your graphics drivers. Place the tool in a folder on your desktop, restart the PC in safe-mode and run it. If you had any Nvidia gpu in this PC in the past, try to remove those first (using the tool). Then remove the AMD drivers. After restarting your PC to normal (your resolution might be screwed up at the moment), reinstall the AMD drivers (the auto-detect download is the easiest) and see if it's fixed If it doesn't work... well, then maybe it was a waste of time...
  17. So, anyone has the inventory for this model too? I have to re-organize my storage since way too many bins are overflowing, especially after I parted out the Actros, Crawler crane and 2x 42050. I'm planning on buying the Porsche, Volvo, Claas and BWE and that is a staggering amount of parts (although not all at once, I'll wait for some good deals ). Much more than I'm used to buy, so I want to prepare/future-proof my storage for those sets as well as others. Ah well, I'm getting off-topic
  18. I think it's more than just visibility. For me personally for example, I like that the sBrick has the same size as a normal Lego IR receiver. That way, I can take someone's IR based MOC and build it without any modifications but do use my sBrick. And besides that, for the prize of 1 BuWizz, I can buy 2 sBricks (which account for 8 motors or 4 IR receivers, Lego's own maximum which means I can control almost ALL mocs with sbricks). I think a lot of people find the prize too high (I'm not saying it's a wrong prize for what you get, I mean the absolute costs, not the relative). That being said, I do see the potential of the BuWizz. Although I haven't bought one (my Lego budget is almost empty at the moment), I might in the future
  19. I think the chain idea is the most simple. Something like this:
  20. Interesting color for the body, most Technic models and MOC's have LBG parts on the inside, not LBG on the outside as bodywork. It looks quite nice. Also, that gearbox mechanism looks very nice. Great work!
  21. Are the tires bigger or smaller (or same size) than the Unimog tires?
