  1. I think you can't win much extra space or volume with this. It would help models with just a little bit bigger size so it should be OK to allow it.
  2. I have similar question - if I build suspended vehicle may I messure height when shock absorbers are compressed to get lower height?
  3. WOW! This buggy was my very first LEGO set. I like this review - it remembered my childhood. I also liked its body with those 8 studs long bricks on sides. I can also remember trying to build engine in such way that it works smooth without success. Anyway I think its "studless version" - set 8048 is much better.
  4. Building instructions for panda, duck and flower and bee are available at buildinst now.
  5. This is the best alternative model built out of set 42038 I've ever seen. It's definitelly better than A model. Good job!
  6. I was thinking about what to built out of set 31029 (Cargo Heli) very long. Then I've got idea - it's full of yellow parts so I might build duck... And here it comes! It has even two modes: the first is water mode that contains just body and the other one is land mode with attached landing gear - sorry, I wanted to say legs.

  8. Wow, this is reallz cool sports car. I like its body work and steering is also clever. Does it have any other function besides steering?
  9. I'm back with the third alternative model built out of set 31021 (cat and mouse). It's also my first terrestial animal built out of this set. So let me introduce panda! I've built it in just one day and it features great posability. You can move head, maw, tail and legs so you can easily get sitting panda... ...lying panda... ...or even kung-fu panda
  10. This is very interesting alternative model. I like its aggressive design. But its most interesting (almost unbelievable) feature for me is number of left over parts. Good job! By the way what about adding folding roof? It would be super-cool feature.
  11. WOW, I've seen video and I have to say: "This pinball machine is just AWESOME! Good job!
  12. I'm back with finished forwarder! I've adjusted proportions (lowered cab and moved rear axles forward) and almost totally rebuilt its body. Now it looks and works much better than before. You can compare its proportions with original Noe NF410 forwarder on this picture: Final features and specifications are: little bit more than 1000 parts 4 axles with articulated steering working crane: turning around, lifting boom and stick, opening grapple crane is operated from chassis by 2 double bevel gears and 1 axle connector lifting front blade turning seat in cab Video will be available soon.
  13. Personally my favorite medium size set is buggy 8048. It has just few functions (steering, suspension and fake engine) but I've built lots of alternative models out of its parts.
  14. It looks like Rescue Helicopter 8068 with some minor changes. What software have you used for building?
  15. Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Good points. Wheels are really little bit smaller than they should be. I'll try to lower both cab and crane and move rear axles closer to cab. Yes, I think safety cage is good idea. I'll try to add it. Pendular suspension was also on my list but I think this model is too small for recreating it. I haven't thought about grader but you are right I can imagine building it out of this set. By the way I've already built one out of smaller mobile crane set 8067.
  16. More than month ago I've decided to begin building my biggest and most challenging alernative model so far. It will be forwarder (log loader) built out of set 8053 - Mobile Crane. The first issue was how to build complex crane with just one linear actuator and limited amount of gears. I've solved it by using worm gears instead of linear actuators and it works good. This is the first working prototype of rear part of forwarder: Then I've begun working on cab and this is the second version of it (you can aslo notice minor changes in crane): When I've showed it to my wife she told me that cab is too high and angular. What do you think about it? And last picture of forwarder ready to grab something: Few features and specifications: 4 axles with articulated steering working crane: rotation around vertical axis, lifting boom by wormgear, lifting stick by linear actuator, opening grapple by worm gear crane is operated from chassis (1 black axle connector and 2 red axle connectors) rotary seat in cab (not built yet) opening engine cover with fake engine (not built yet) target number of parts: 1000+ Few issues to solve: steering on smooth surfaces - wheels offer big resistance but it's OK on carpet overall design lack of useful parts Any comments and ideas for improvements are welcomed.
  17. I like your warships, especially amount of details in such a small scale. Those tiny aircrafts on Graf Zeppelin are so cute.
  18. Wow, this race rod looks awesome and rides pretty fast! I like its colorscheme with red stripes and snake on grill.
  19. WOW! This is the best alternative model built out of 42039 I've ever seen. Good job!
  20. This is awesome alternative model. I like its functionality and design. Number of used parts is also admirable. I'm just little bit disappointed that you haven't used PF parts (motor and battery box).
  21. I think it wasn't finished. I haven't got any request for list of flaws from Conchas either. We might ask him what has happened.
  22. 11: 10 10: 6 16: 4 18: 3 9: 2 14: 1
  23. You've built few good alternative models out of this set. I especially like your tractor. It would be nice to post several pictures of brick-built models here.
  24. Interesting project - I'm courious about model built out of real bricks. I hope you'll make video too.
  25. Great review! You've done good job.
