    Since C-model contest began I was thinking about building something BIG but I wasn't sure if I finish it in time. So I've built this little pull-back trike to get "plan B" and then immediatelly began working on my second alternative model out of set 9394. I wanted to be the first who rebuilds this jet plane into boat but izorn was bit faster... So my alternate is hovercraft. Its main feature is quite unique steering. It turns just pair of rudders instead of whole propeller as you can see among official hovercraft models. This is list of all functions: three wheels chassis front axle drives propeller rear axle "HOG" steering that also turns pair of rudders opening windscreen steering wheel and adjustable seat in cab This is mechanism inside - green is steering and red is drive for propeller 41 left over parts And there are few pictures from building process bellow: I began with prototype of rear axle to check steering performance. Then I built the most difficult part of model - crossing of drive and steering axles. And this was first prototype of model. More pictures

    Cute model and pretty complex mechanism inside. It looks like some old-style groomer due to shape of cab. Have you tried to use those curved half-beams in opposite position? I mean something like this:

    And you can also try to hide wheels - look at my shark it may help you.

    I like it with bigger wheels more. It remembers me this future car from past.

    I like how you've built fake engine. I've meant exactly something like this. By the way how do you operate steering? I can't see any gear for "HOG"...

    Interesting creation and I'm pleased that you've used my motor boat as inspiration. I agree with Jeroen Ottens that you can enlarge it to use more parts and make it closer in size to main model. By the way I'm working on another alternative model out of this set too. It would be hovercraft.

    It really looks like new buggy 42037 - well done! How do you operate steering? Can you do it somewhere else besides using steering wheel in cab?

    It definitely looks better than A-model. And I think the worst B-model is out of dumper (mining truck). Any idea what is it?

    It is not necesary to make fake engine with moving pistons. I think it would be enough to build some grey-black block that looks like engine. You can also add exhaust pipe.

    You've built good model just building another motorbike is not very original for me. I also think you have many left over parts from set 8048. It would be more interesting to build motorbike just out of set 8048...

    Good progress! It would be cool if you build some kind of fake engine in rear instead of those strange green liftarms.

    When I tried to build cherry picker 42031 I found probably two new parts: plate 2x1 with pin hole (it should be similar to this one with studs on the bottom) and axle pin 3L with 2L axle

    WOW! It is an awesome buggy. I think Lego should definitely release some pull back model with fake engine - it's cool idea. Do you have more pictures? I'd like to see steering mechanism.

    I like this alternative model built out of set 31031. It looks much better than parrot.

    Good idea - I like such an old cars. Will it have any other functions besides steering? Pity this set doesn't contain fake engine...

    You should worry now. This model was just warming up... I plan to build something bigger for contest just if I don't finish it in time I'll have at least this model.
